In the room, one floor above mine, there was two hours of domestic abuse that kept me awake all night. In addition to that, there were drunk people kicking my motel room door because they couldn't remember which room was there. None of the lamps worked, the power outlets weren't working, and one of my pillow cases had lipstick stains all over it. Not […] a good experience. All night in that motel I wised all the transient people outside my window would stop cursing at eachother. Not worth saving all that money for such a run down motel. "Budget hotel, good location"
This hotel is located right next to the transit lines, easy to reach from almost anywhere. Good pizza place next door. Housekeeping did not make up our beds, which I thought was weird. But it was a fine place to stay for a few nights if you're not expecting luxury.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The towels had holes in them. Had about 5 TV channel maybe one local station.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not worth the trouble!"
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and each night was very different. The first night's stay was awful - they put us in a room full of smoke, bathroom had not been updated in 20+ years, new paint and carpet needed throughout the whole room - it felt absolutely gross - even my husband was surprised! Then we moved to a different room the next night, […] and it felt more like a normal hotel - the bathroom had nice tiling, but the shower wasn't the cleanest. I was expecting to see lots of critters, but I'm happy to report that we did not. We had to spend extra money to park on the street or in parking lots surrounding the hotel because there were only 14 or 15 spaces and at least 30 rooms. Also, there are no elevators and it is a 3 story hotel (fortunately, we didn't have to go beyond the 2nd floor). We stayed there because it was walking distance to a meeting my husband had to attend, but we will not stay there again. There is an Econolodge one block away that looked like it had plenty of parking and possibly more updated. Since it was high season in Portland, I'm sure many people want to save money by staying here, but you might want to spend the extra dough and stay somewhere else - this place in unpredictable. The pizza place next door was good, though. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Served the purpose of being cheap"
This was a cheap hotel, and my goal was to save money. In that sense, I was successful, and I would consider staying there again due to the convenience of location and price. When I arrived, there was no one at the front desk, and I had to wait 5-10 minutes for someone to show up. There was no toilet paper when I checked in, although when I reported […] it (again, after a 5-10 minute wait since the front desk was unoccupied), they did bring some promptly, as well as the two extra pillows that I requested. Room was dusty. The only day that I didn't put the "privacy please" notice out, they replaced towels and cleaned the bathroom, but did not make the bed. A switch on the wall controlled numerous outlets, and they turned it off, letting my laptop completely drain it's battery. Comforter was frayed and sheets were very thin. One day someone was banging on a neighboring door at 6:30 in the morning and shouting to the person inside. They told me at check-in that the room I was in was in a quiet location. It was on the second floor facing the street corner, with both the light rail and streetcar going by. Perhaps most seriously, there was only one way out down the hall - the other way led to an exit door that had a cover over the handle that locked it. I can't help but wonder if that doesn't violate fire code. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel is inexpensive and downtown accessible"
Hotel is inexpensive and downtown accessible....It is right next to the cable car and max lines....it is a no frills hotel (ladies bring a hairdryer) but its cheap and really all you need is a place to crash...I would stay there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I rang the bell and someone came to the front desk. They had my reservation. They told me to use the side door and no one would be at the desk after 9 pm, but they actually were. I was able to borrow an iron whenever I needed it. It is about .4 miles to the river (for runners!). I am used to hostel travel, so it was just nice to have a private room. […] Only complaints was the shower (very slow, inconsistent water temp and overflowed tray every time) and for some reason housekeeping didn't make the bed. Not bad for the cost and the location! There also are a number of food booths on 4th street with vegan fare that were awesome for a quik lunch grab. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"tight parking"
The only draw back to this hotel was the parking area - it was a very narrow slot between sets of cement pillars - fortunately, I have a compact vehicle.Genuine Expedia guest review
