Front desk help was a bit lacking. We checked in late. 9:30 - 10:00 pm; the front desk person was on two (personal) phone calls while checking us in and used some less than appropriate language. We were then checked into a room that had clearly NOT been cleaned; unmade bed; things in disarray; with recent cigarrette smoke smell (in a non-smoking room). Room was adequate and so was continental breakfast. Very disappointed in the fact that the pool and spa were out of service. We booked this hotel specifically because it had an indoor pool. When we arrived, the pool, hot tub, ice machine, and vending machines were out of order. Also, breakfast was sub-par. Pool and spa closed for maintence the entire time. Ice machine out of order. Continental breakfast consist of coffee, toast, bagel. They caught towels on fire in dryer on our first night. Chose hotel b/c of sauna and hot tub. hot tub was out of order. Only 1 vending machine in the hotel, and it was sold out of water and lemonade. Sauna was nice and hot. The room was fairly clean (except for around edges of carpet, under bed, behind the desk.) The maintenance was terrible. Peeling wallpaper, towel rack torn down and brackets left on the wall. "The Haunted Toilet"
The Bad: We got the room with the haunted toilet it would flush by its self. I think it needed a new flapper. The beds are not to great. The first night the cleaning lady took all the bath towels in the room and left us with only one. I was pleased with the hotel rooms and the poool area. Unfortunately the breaskfast wasn't at all what was expected. I always figured the manager should/would be the most understandable, considerate, and nicest, but in this case I was wrong. Was wrongly informed about a "later" checkout fee #had to work a few hours in the morning and only have one car so had to have my bf and daughter wait until I got off to go home#. Came back after work, talked to the manager who was extremely RUDE #told me she doesn't know what the guy at the front desk from the previous night was talking about and that the fee is $20# and indirect #telling me it would be $20 so I asked for confirmation, "So I have to pay the $20 even though I was wrongly misinformed?#. Eyes rolling and with attitude she said, "OKAY, this time you don't have to pay,but you said you would check out by 1pm so you have to be out by 1pm, no later" and left back into the office. When I arrived I discovered the jacuzzi was out of order, there is a $20 charge for using the sofa sleeper (no sheets on the foldout bed), the condition of the room was a bit worn.
