see all hotels in BeavertonThe hotel really needs updating. It was quiet, but the room was needing some TLC, toilet not working properly and the bed was one of the worst I have ever slept on. Probably won't stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not very happy"
The room we were supposed to have they didn't have the keys to so they put us in another room then told us the could move us the next day to the right room. The second room had a bird in the wall that we heard all night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Too Old - Need Improvements"
Hotel needs an makeover! Paint the outside of the building, bring the rooms decore up to 1990's, have working equipment if you have an exercise room (bike was 50 years old and broken), and free breakfast isn't free.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Rundown but friendly service"
We stayed at the Shilo as a stop off point on our way to the Oregon Coast. Like a lot of Shilo's, it's old and in need of major upgrading. It has the feel of a 1970's basement remodel with dark paneling and rundown carpets and the accompanying smell. That said, the service was great and people were friendly. We enjoyed the complementary hot breakfast […] for our whole family and they have a lovely fountain courtyard. The surrounding neighborhood is a mix of high-end car lots and "gentlemen's clubs" on a busy 4-lane street so be cautious with families. Even though it was one of the most affordable hotels we could find in this area of Portland, I don't think we'd stay here again because of the condition of the hotel. "Not so great"
The hotel looks nice from the outside but is not on the inside. First they gave us two keys and only one worked and we had to giggle and wiggle in order to get our room. Then they tell you to dial 0 if we need anything well our phones didn't work so we were unable to call for room service. Then we sat on the bed and it tipped because it had come unscrewed […] from the wall, and on top of that when the bed lifted up an earwig scampered out..... The room was large but the carpets were dirty and the tv had squiggly lines running through it. Overall our stay was short and thank goodness because one night was enough. This place need a lot of updates.... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Needs some improvement."
My first impression set the tone for the entire stay. The lobby smelled TERRIBLE - musty, moldy, very unpleasant. The room itself was clean and fairly comfortable, but the wait staff in the restaurant were inattentive and the food was of poor quality and tasteless. I would recommend that the management expend some effort on training their staff, hire […] a new cook and do something about the smell in the lobby. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"We were given an already-occupied room!"
The hotel itself was okay in most respects. There was adequate parking, the room cleanliness was fine, and the breakfast at the attached hotel was of higher quality than that of most similarly-priced hotels. However, my companion and I had a shocking and disturbing experience. The room we were initially given – and that we almost entered – was already […] occupied, and the occupants were in bed and appeared to be engaged in adult activity. The receptionist did of course give us a different room and apologized, but didn't seem particularly put off. I later learned that the occupants of the other room were legitimate guests and that they also moved to a different room later that night. In all of my hotel stays, this had never happened before, and while it may have been an isolated incident at this hotel, I will not stay there again. One other point to note is that the new room we received did not have a chain or any similar device that could fully lock the room from the inside; rather, it just had the regular locks, which anybody with a key could have opened. After what had happened, this was disconcerting as well. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very poorly maintained"
The grounds were dry-panned, each flower pot had butts in them, the rooms were not made ready - literally one day mine wasn't turned at all. The carpet had stains and holes, the lamps had goop on them and the overall service in the hotel breakfast was terrible. We sat for 90 minutes and talked with our server 2 times. Food was cold, etc. I usually stay […] at The Benson and this was the only thing availalbe. TERRIBLE and Never again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Lukewarm stay"
The information (3 ring binder) located in our room was outdated saying newspapers were available delivered to your room or in the lobby. When I inquired at the front desk for one, I was told they were sold at the plaid pantry store across the street. I then asked if there was toothpaste offered, they answered no . We stayed at a Best Western last year, […] they offer toothpaste. I was very disappointed that there was no reading material of any kind available in the seating area of the lobby and no fresh brew coffee available. We have stayed at many other hotels and have enjoyed these emenities.I was disappointed with the area out the sliding door to the courtyard, the view was worth it but the fact that people could and did walk right by our door because there are no barriers to seperate each room area.I would have liked that privacy. "Dark, Dingy, Smelly"
We walked into the hotel and it smelled horrible! It was dingy and dark and the clerk on duty acted like it was a chore to help us. The room was nicely decorated but with two queen beds in the room it was very cramped. Also the hallways were very dark and there were no basic ammenities in the room like an iron and ironing board.Genuine Expedia guest review

The layout of this hotel is not good for seniors or anyone who has trouble with stairs. The walk to breakfast consisted of 4 flights of stairs as well as walks down the hallways. We had to drive to breakfast on the second day.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very disappointed!!!"
According to a review I read this hotel was a "hidden gem!" Not the case. The room was gross! There was candy in the floor, a dirty wash cloth, and it smelled. I wore flip flops in the shower! We got a complimentary breakfast in the morning but we couldn't take it to go and we only had three choices! Im not coming back to this place!Genuine Expedia guest review
The price was fair, but my room was not completely clean. The bedside table was very sticky - gross. The whole property needs a bit of polishing. The free beakfast was a redeeming point and the restaurant people were very nice. Suggest to get the back court yard rooms, as the hotel is on a busy street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The pillows were rock hard and small in size. The air conditioning didnt work so the room stayed warm. The bathtub drain didnt drain well. The TV kept switching the channel we chose back to Pay Movies screen. So all in all the room was not good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Horrible Desk staff!"
Checking in was a nightmare. The staff seemed to be more interested in talking to each other than helping you out. I also arrived early and the staff said check-in isn't till 3 then continued to talk to the other staff. When I asked "so you have NO rooms at all to get into," the staff said check in is at 3! "Poor Customer Service"
The night we stayed the clerk could not provide any assistance in getting our TV to work (He told us to adjust the settings). Room service wasn't available that night due to staffing issues but when I went to the bar to get some drinks two tenders were talking to one customer and ignored the fact that I was there until I prompted them to provide services. "Shilo Inn Beaverton - I had such high hopes...."
The room itself looked great; the bed was comfy, and the linens were nice. The HVAC unit worked well. In-room fridge is always a plus. Now the negatives: 1. I had to plug in my cell phone charger behind the nightstand, and when pulling the nightstand out a little bit to access the outlet, it was clear that the carpet behind the furniture hadn't been […] vacuumed in ages. All kinds of stuff back there, including dandruff particles (yuck!). 2. The shower drain ran veeeerrrry sloooowly; I don't take long showers, but even at the end of my shower, there were a good two inches of standing water in the tub. That's a big pet peeve. 3. When my shower was done, I grabbed a towel, unfolded it, and started drying off; just a moment or two after starting to dry my hair, I noticed a black spider fall off the towel and onto the bottom of the tub. It was just slightly larger than a quarter. I could definitely have lived without that experience, but on the plus side, it made me forget all about the slow drain and dandruff. 4. For the price I paid for the room, I don't understand why the Shilo gives such low-quality soap and shampoo. The soap doesn't even come in a box; instead, it comes in a plastic wrapper. "Shilo Inn-PDX"
I like Shilo Inns, but this one needs work.. I had to send my soup back twice to the kitchen as it was cold. The dryer in the laundry room did not heat either. Water in the shower fluctuated between hot and cold. Breakfast was marginal. I would not stay again at this location. Loved the Shilo In Bend!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Wouldn't stay here"
The accomodations were rustic at best, the complimentary breakfast would've been good if actually served hot, heck would've settled for lukewarm. In addition security didn't exist, our car was broken into and the response from the staff wasn't even empathetic, in fact was downright rude when we were told, 'The damage is minimal and your car insurance […] should cover it'. "Don't want to stay at the Shilo again..."

"The Shilo Inn in Beaverton OR"
The hotel seems very old, probably built in the 60's. It's been updated but you can tell its old. The key to the room is a brass key, not a plastic card. And there are three strip clubs within a block of it so that should tell you what kind of neighborhood its in. There is wifi but no CAT5 connection in the room. There was no desk to work at which usually […] isnt a big deal but I was there on buisiness. The bed was not very comfortable and the sheet wasnt a fitted sheet so it slid around a lot. The complimentary breakfast was only for the resturant with a waiting staff so there's pressure to tip them for their service (making the breakfast not so complimentary anymore). There were two long black hairs in different spots in the bathroom the first night and the following day after room service had come and gone, the hairs were still there. "Terrible restaurant service"
For me, when I stay in a hotel it is critical that there is an on premise restaurant for breakfast. My daily routine includes a good meal to start the day and then I like to return to my room to brush my teeth and such before leaving for the day. On the first day it took 20 minutes before my breakfast order was taken and then quite surprisingly my meal […] was there in less than five. The hash browns were a bit greasy and undercooked but it was all hot and fresh. On the second day, I waited 20 minutes and never once saw a server, I finally gave up and left without breakfast - therefore I can not recommend this hotel. It really is rather ironic too, this hotel had one of the most helpful front desk staff I have ever experienced anywhere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Dated, dirty room, built on steep hill"
Warning to anyone with mobility issues: This hotel is built into the side of a hill - you enter on the 4th floor. There is NO elevator - so if you're on floors 1, 2, or 3 you'll have a steep climb. I was first put in one 1st floor room - however there was no table to do work - none! And no towels, and the TV didn't work at all. So I climbed back up […] the hill and got a key to a new room - this one the AC didn't work at all and it was a warm night! So I just stole the table and the towels and went back to the first room, then back up the steep hill to return the second key. The room was VERY old and dated with filthy carpet. Not a very pleasant room. The restaurant and bar are also VERY old and dated - like "elegance from 1976". And in the bar, no air conditioning - it was just SWELTERING in there - so just left. The only good thing is the staff was nice. But everything else about this hotel sucked big time. Despite it's convenient location to a business park I go to, I'll never do this one again. "The Shilo Inn in Beaverton on Canyon Rd."
Our room smelled very bad and carpet in front of vanity sink was wet. After we went to bed the smell got worse and so bad I had to hold the sheets over my nose! Next day we left early for a day at the zoo and dinner after and when we returned our door was ajar ..... not shut all the way which was the maid's fault and that had me worried!! Then when […] we opened the door the smell almost knocked us off out feet! It smelled like sewer! We also noticed that the maid had not even taken out the coffee and cups, creamer, ect....... that we had ordered from room service. I called front desk and told them I would NOT stay in that room because of the smell and also told them about the door being ajar. The gal did get us another room but it was late ( 9:30) and we were so very tired, all we wanted to do was get to bed NOT move all our stuff to another room!!! THEN......... next morning we woke early to get back on the road and and I called room service to have coffee delivered and the gal refused me, told me there was nobody to bring us the coffee.............it was 6:30 am and room service starts at 6:00am!! I was very angry and again called the front desk to complain and I am truly NOT a complainer but when you pay good money for a hotel room , you tend to expect a little more than this. Well, they did nothing about it and we left........ when I checked out I was not compensated in the least, all we got was an apology. I would NEVER stay at this hotel again. It was an awful stay.
