"Good value and location, poor service and options"
Centrally located, nice hotel, and free parking with poor service and amenities: ie... no hot water, no alarm clock, unhelpful reps ect...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I stay here 3-4 times a year. For my work the location is perfect, the rooms are always spotless and the area is full of things to eat (try Zuppans just up the road). Also, with the park right up the hill I don't miss not having a gym.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It's worth the price"
I've stayed here twice and I have no real complaints. Although I think the people who cleaned my room stole a 5$ ring but I can't be certain. The shower curtains need to go though. The location is perfect especially if you plan on taking public transportation. I would stay here again but I'm still bummed about my ring.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Timber stadium and Washington Park"
Hotel is off the beaten path in a Historical neighborhood called the Alphabet District. Plenty of good options to eat within walking distance. Also, the Washington Park home of the Rose Gardens, Japanese Gardens, Oregon Zoo and Children's Museum is just several blocks away. The hotel is unpretentious but it has everything you need and is very clean. […] There are two parts to the hotel, the Inn side and the Suite side. The one negative thing that I would say is that the walls are thin and if you have loud neighbors or people staying above you, you will definitely hear them. For the price definitely worth it. "Convenient to NW 23rd neighborhood"
Conveniently situated on nice tree-lined street close to NW 23rd neighborhood and Zupan's. Clean, contemporary furnishings. Stayed at the Inn across the street from the Suites. Free on-site parking. Staff friendly and helpful. Complimentary tea and coffee in the Lobby of the Suites. Would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The front desk associates were wonderful! Hotel rooms were very bare. Price was great. If I was ever shirt on cash, I would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love this place"

"Would not stay here until upgraded"
Checked in past midnight with a complimentary upgrade from single queen inn room to studio suite, how nice, but not really.. This suite had a toilet that leaked, which they fixed pretty fast. Then the fridge didn't work so they brought in a mini fridge (they never came back to fix the original fridge). The tv channels didn't work using the channel + […] and - buttons because of bad programming, but they fixed this. The AC didn't work on the hottest day of the week when I needed it most. The man actually told me a sob story about how he already knew about the AC problem in this room but that no one was willing to do anything about it. They offered to change rooms the next night but the temperature got cooler. One night a car double parked right in front of my room and the front desk man (without even trying) gave me so many different excuses about how looooong it would take to track down the person to ask them to move the car and how there would be sooo many different factors, but how would you know even before trying? I will point out that he gave up his parking space for me, which was the next space over. Wow... what an experience.. too bad my week long stay here was already prepaid else I would have stayed somewhere else. Overall I survived... the front desk, housekeeping and maintenance were all pretty helpful and did the best with what they had but this place is a major dump and needs a major upgrade. About 3/4 of a mile away from some decent places to eat and a little distance from downtown, but still somewhat close, with dedicated parking. The suite was large and it was tidy, and a bit more quiet than what I'm used to when booking with Hotels.com. The price was significantly less than hotels in better locations, but it was still striking distance […] from all of Portland, so overall I was quite satisfied. Great location. Stayed at the smaller complex, smaller rooms, but nicely Furnished and kept upGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Located in a quiet neighbourhood, close to lots of restaurants and the Jen-Weld Stadium. Nice but small rooms, no closet in the room (just a drawer and a clothes hanger), otherwise clean and nicely furnished. No breakfast available besides coffee and cookies.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The inn was recently remodeled, and they could have been a little more generous with their furniture budget. No sturdy hotel beds here. My daughter was awakened with each creaky turn I made. That said, I would still consider a return trip to the inn due to its great location and affordability. Lots of restaurants and shops in walking distance in Nob […] Hill. "Between a motel and a 3 star hotel"
Three blocks up the hill past the Kings Hill train stop and a 15-20 minute walk to downtown. Fairly clean, comfortable bed. Equivalent to a 3 star hotel but a motel like setting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
There were just 2 beds in our room, no fridge, no bath tub, no desk, no coffee maker, not even a clock! The towel wasn't clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't Stay Anywhere Else!"
Looks suspect from the street, but wait until you walk inside! Great service, remodelled rooms, lots of complimentary benefits. Can't beat it for the price, anywhere!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Positives: safe location, close to Nob Hill, walking distance to car rental, restaurants, Tri met. Hotel was very clean. Negatives: about a 4 block walk uphill from Tri Met (hard with luggage), could hear surrounding room noise, and not enough luggage storage space/place to hang clothes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved it. Great neighborhood. Cheapest option close to downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bad Service Experience"
First of all, I hardly ever write reviews as Hotels.com does a great job of providing quality hotels. I had a different experience with this hotel. First off, rooms are very small. Has an efficiency apartment kind of feel. My room was freezing and the heat was not working so I called the front desk to have an extra blanket delivered to my room. After […] my first call, I waited 45 minutes and never received this blanket. I called again and the front desk gentleman assured me that it was on it's way. Thirty minutes later I called again and was hung up on. I called a couple more times from the room phone thinking that maybe it was a mistake, but got no answer at the front desk. Finally, I waited about 5 minutes and tried calling from my cell phone. This time, someone picked up. I was a little upset at this time and asked that they make sure to send a spare blanket up. The front desk person finally delivered me two spare blankets and a heater himself. I don't know if this was the front desk or the room service's fault or a combination of the two, but it was really poor service either way. I won't stay here again. "Large, clean, comfortable room"
Romm was very large with a separate living room, large kithcen with full sized fridge, and a nice sized separate bedroom. All very clean. Kitchen has stove top and microwave as well as fridge. And two servings of complimentary oatmeal - nice! Bathroom was clean and featrued organic bath products. Hotel also cleans with no harmful chemicals and the room […] was quite clean. Free parking, though limited. Great service checking in and out. Good restaurants and a fabulous fine foods grocery store within walking distance. All around a very good experience. We arrived early and they were very accommodating about trying to get our room ready early for us. The front desk staff is excellent. The location is perfect. It is in a safe and awesome neighborhood. We easily walked to all our favorite restaurants both downtown and on 23rd. Close to Forest Park, too! My only complaint was that the bed was a little […] hard. But for what you spend, this hotel it a steal! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great little hotel"
Super clean hotel in a quiet little neighborhood. Walk to restaurants, bars, & coffee shops. It's basic, but perfect for business travel or a cheap place to stay in downtown Portland.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A place to stay"
Hotel was well placed in center of town. On on a highway. Fairly quiet. Not a great neighborhood but ok. Rooms were very clean. Basics in the roomGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms are very clean and very simple, beds are good and the walk in shower is great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"beware could be in refurbished former motel wing"
Park Lane Suites seemed nice (lobby etc) but instead we were put across the street in what appeared to be refurbished but very basic motel "inn" associated with them and not in the actual Park Lane Suites. Maids had left a dirty cleaning brush on the chair, heat (was in the 20s outside) was a wall ac/heat unit under the window which loudly cycled on […] and off all night. Rest of room was small but fine. Clearly a refurbishment of a former low-rent type motel. Convenient location to where we needed to be. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value, but..."
Among the cheaper hotels in the Portland area, it is conveniently nearby Burnside, a major street for buses (the MAX line is several blocks away). Service staff were great and always helpful. Free coffee and snacks in the lobby, washer/dryer in the basement (coins), free printing, and free wi-fi (but what's the point of having individualized access […] if you give everyone the same password?). Biggest two downsides is that the cheaper rooms are across the street, so you have to go outside to to get to the lobby and that the cheaper rooms have THIN ceilings (I could hear my neighbors walking around upstairs really easily). We stayed at the Inn portion, rather than the Suites, and had a very strange stay. The front desk man seemed to have a chip on his shoulder, we had various problems with our room keys, and the room seemed quite bare and uninviting. Sorry, but I wouldn't recommend this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Just what we expected in Portland. Excellent parking - free and off street. Great eats and shopping just blocks away.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not great for the price"
I would have rather paid a few more dollars and stayed at a Marriott. There was no clock in the room, a phone that was inoperable, and a leak in the bathroom ceiling. Not to mention that they messed up on my reservation for an extra night. I wouldn't stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The property itself is older and a bit worn but the customer service is good, the beds are comfortable, and the location is great. We stayed in the suites, not the motel part across the street. The full kitchen was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great prices--spartan rooms"
I stayed in the "Inn" section of the hotel, which is across the street from the main building. The Inn rooms don't have all the amenities of the suites--no kitchenette, for example. Here's a summary: Very reasonable rates compared to other hotels in the area. Clean, comfortable, well-maintained rooms. Free parking, but it fills up quickly at night, […] so it's best to get there on time. A few blocks away from the nearest light rail station. Restaurants, drugstore and supermarket all within easy walking distance. Cons: No clock or clock-radio in room. Paper-thin walls; you can easily hear other guests and street noise. A fairly long walk to downtown and the Alphabet District's shopping and restaurants. Would I stay here again? Given the price, yes--the savings are worth the disadvantages. "Great staff, well situated"
They kept my bags free of charge when I got in early and the whole day after checkout. Upgraded me when I finally came in early still for checkin. Near 23rd and Washington Park. And a reasonnable 15 min walk to downtown. Food in the area is good too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to all the hip places in downtown"
We were very pleased with this hotel. It was more like an apartment with a kitchen and living room. It was within walking distance of 23rd street, the hip street in Portland. Near Zupan's Market, the coolest store in Portland. It was also a short drive to the convention center where we were working. The staff was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants […] and cool sights. All in all a great little place. I stayed at the Inn part of the hotel for two nights. The design of the rooms is very modern and minimalist. Note that the rooms at the Inn do not have a fridge/microwave/coffee maker.
