We went to a concert at the Rose Quarter and this hotel was a short two block walk. There was a lovely restaurant upstairs with good food and a gorgeous panoramic view of the city. although its not as centrally located as I originally thought, it is very close to the MIT, transit system.. its litrally a block away and you can go pretty much anywhere you want to go.. the only down side is that the MIT aka train was free but will now be charged as of Sept 1st... Now thats only like about $2-5 , depending on if you get a one way […] or a day pass,, but thats still pretty good.. I did end up liking the fact that it wasnt right down town because of the night noise,, around here ther realy isnt mucn.. which if you like to sleep with your window open like I do is a plus.. This is a very fine, friendly, and scrupulously clean hotel. As I walked down the hall, I saw the cleaning staff washing the hallway walls(!), and moving a desk lamp in one of the rooms to dust under it -- I was really impressed by how thoroughly the rooms were cleaned. It's like the cleaners all have OCD (in a good way). The fixtures and room condition […] and linens are fresh and updated. It's not a luxury hotel like a Four Seasons but it's very nice. The bed was comfortable, the chair was firm, the refrigerator was quiet. There wasn't an eliptical machine in the fitness room but the other equipment (stair stepper, treadmill, recumbent bike, weight machines) all functioned fine. I'll definitely go back. I could not have been more pleased with my stay at the Red Lion Convention Center Hotel. The building showed signs of it's age in some places but not in any way that conflicted with my enjoyment.
