Other than the friendliness of the staff, there is nothing remotely pleasant about this place. I reserved nonlinear based in pictures, horrible idea! The chainlink fence around the parking lot lot should have been my first clue that this was not the "value" I was paying for. We were put into the wrong room, an upgrade from the king. "Howard Johnson Portland Airport"
We called Hotels.com listed phone number seeking a hotel to park and ride for our vaction. We were told that they didn't have a seperate charge for parking our care while we went on vacation. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told there would be an additional charge daily for parking our car. We said we called but they didn't care and said do you […] want to cancel? They said this happens all the time with Hotels.com for some reason. We had no other choice because it was late at night and stayed. The hotel was gross and in a very bad neighborhood. "An ok stay"
The good....This motel was wonderfully updated with nice wall treatments and new flooring. Most of the furniture and appliances were recent also. Friendly staff and the breakfast was decent. The Bad...the Toilet was really badly cracked in our room and the heating cooling system was old and hard to use. One would need to know that you needed to turn […] hard for it to warm up. Also the fridge and microwave were on the floor, so you had to bend way down to get to anything in the fridge. The Ugly...the bed! Old...hard...sagged in the middle. And...it was a cheap room with a bunch of ammenities so something had to lack some where, but in my opinion it the bed should be the first thing replaced when updating a motel.
