West of the Willamette River, downtown offers a celebrated skyline, walkable streets, and a lively arts scene. Visitors shop tax-free at Powell’s Books and Portland Saturday Market, a craft lover’s paradise. Area festivals include Cinco de Mayo and the Oregon Brewer’s Festival. The Oregon Zoo, the swank Pearl District, and the inviting Pioneer Courthouse Square are other noteworthy attractions.

"reliably great experience"
staff is very welcoming of us and our dog. Only negative: they no longer have hot water/coffee set up in the rooms unless specifically requested. Funnily that is quite awkward.... especially given the great spacious room and nice kitchen/bar area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hotel Vintage Plaza, a Kimpton Hotel That is correct, our in room coffee set ups are delivered upon request. We also have fresh brewed coffee every morning in the lobby. We are always happy to deliver or provide in advance, just let us know. Thanks again for staying with us.
Excellent location near Pioneer Square, close to MAX and buses. Enjoyed the free afternoon wine and morning coffeeGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Pretty Nice Place"
Simple, boutique hotel in a great location. Old building but reasonably well maintained and decent renovation (probably a few years back). Stayed in a two queen bed suite on 9th floor. Not much of a view but decent light. Bathroom was small but modern enough. One drawback of the room was the lack of table/counter space. The downside of minimalist decor […] I suppose. Overall for the price paid I'd check it out again when we are planning another trip to Portland. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Vintage-sophisticated & with healthy Portland vibe"
I loved this hotel. The fireplace in the lobby along with the warmth of the welcoming staff--I knew I chose the right hotel. The rooms were beautifully appointed--understated, but just right. Lobby was a great place to relax and the nightly wine tastings of local wine was a wonderful prelude to any number of the cities restaurants. A ten minute walk […] to Higgins for the best meal of your life. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent hotel in an excellent spot"
This hotel is only two blocks away from a red-line train stop in the heart of downtown. If you're flying into PDX, just hop on the red-line and it'll take about 40 minutes to get here. The location is superb- plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within a stone's throw, tourist attractions and public parks within a 1 mile radius, train and bus stops […] within walking distance and car rentals that will pick you up from the hotel. The front desk employees are all extremely familiar with the Portland area. Any question I had for them was answered in good detail. The room was cozy and relaxing. My only complaints were that my window faced another hotel building (you should request a street-facing view), the goose down pillows were far too soft for me (I like very firm pillows; these got as flat as a pancake under my head) and the room had a very awkward layout. The room was in the shape of a U, with the door being at one tip, the bed in the crux and a desk and chair at the other tip. The bathroom door was placed right next to the main door and opened up such that anyone in the hallway could peer into the bathroom if the main door were opened. Apart from the view, the pillows and the shape of the room, everything else was dandy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location"
The Vintage Plaza is in a great, central location downtown, close to Pioneer Square, the MAX and buses, restaurants and shopping. Lobby is nicely decorated, evening wine tasting was fun, tenth floor room was clean and quiet. Only minor drawback was a small and crowded fitness room (with no fan) on weekday mornings.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel Vintage Plaze in Portland-nice but cramped"
The Hotel Vintage Plaza has been nicely renovated and the rooms are clean and well maintained. We had a king bed room, and not the smallest type, and it was very cramped for two people. Nice furniture and bed, but it was very small and the only chair was at the desk, so there was almost no space for hanging out in the room except on the bed. The bathroom […] was of reasonable size, modern and clean. Great location in downtown Portland and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Vintage Plaza-Portland"
This is in the heart of the city. The hotel is clean and updated and the staff is friendly, corteous and knowledgable. The location is good for walking to the city sites and public transportation (even to and from the airport); and it is safe. It is a city however and be prepared to deal with grime and homeless people.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
