"Room is clean but smells like smoke"
The room was clean but I can smell cigarette smoke even though the front desk said its a non smoking room. The toilet didn't flush good so I ended up adding water in the toilet bowl to flush all the way.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

This is a fine airport if you have an early morning flight or layover. Comfortable and clean, the rooms appear to be recently updated. Not much going on in walking distance though there's a shopping district not far anchored on Ikea. Had to walk to another building and use room keycard in the building doors each time I went from lobby to room. One of the building doors would not accept keycard, so I had to walk even further. The hotel is right next to the airport which is nice. However, the hotel itself is dated. Old furniture, old wallpaper and the A/C is TERRIBLE! It never got cool in our room. The price was great, rooms very comfortable. Service in the lounge was terrible and overpriced. Front desk person needs some customer service training and ironically he was the TRAINER. "For early morning flights, Red Lion is the place."
We are from Portland. We had an early Friday morning flight at PDX. I would highly suggest to anyone in this situation to stay at the Red Lion on 82nd. The shuttle took us right to the door and picked us up right when we called. Parking was less than $10/day. From the time we landed to driving home it was less than one hour. "Nice room -- rude staff"
So it was almost 11 PM when I checked in after being at an outdoor country music festival for 3 days in Sweet Home, Oregon. My daughter was driving back to Seattle on Monday and I had a flight out of Portland to Southern Oregon at 8 AM on Monday. It made more sense to drive to Portland at 9 PM and stay at a hotel rather than stay where we were camping […] and get up at 3 AM to drive into Portland. I might have been a little grumpy -- I know I was hot and tired. The check-in clerk was the rudest lady. She was very abrupt and short with the person on the phone when I approached the counter and with me. She argued with me about when I should catch the shuttle for an 8 AM flight. I said 6:30 AM -- she was pushing for 5:30 AM. The hotel is less than 5 minutes from the Portland Airport and they have a shuttle. I fly in and out of Portland often and it has never taken me 2 1/2 hours to get through security at PDX. This Red Lion do not offer a contential breakfast, either. The room itself was nice and clean. Everything worked, plenty of towels, beds were comfy and the hotel was very quiet that time of night. You can hear an occasional plane overhead but not loud enough to wake us up or keep us awake. This hotel isn't where you go for a romantic getaway, but its great when you just need lodging before or after a trip. They have a very competent shuttle service that works great. The room was clean enough, generally quiet enough, and the staff were friendly. My only complaint was that the housekeeping crew felt the need to sit outside our room at 7:00 […] in the morning and have a long, loud, conversation that continued even after we let them know we were trying to sleep after a long overnight flight. We reserved a room for our family of five. The reservation was clearly made with the number and ages of our three children. Usually a hotel will not accept a reservation for 5 if the room will not sleep that many, e.g. Two queens/full and a small sleep sofa. The descriptions were vague but I assumed too much. Very helpful staff. Our flight was delayed and the shuttle was available when we called. The front desk clerk assigned our room to be close to the front since we were arriving very late.
