Eastside Lodge

Great location if you are in town for a show at the Doug Fir or any other events in the Burnside area. Relatively close to the Rose Quarter/Lloyd Center. Plenty of transit options nearby for a quick ride into downtown or the waterfront. Room and common areas were clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay!

This was by far the best location and price we could find closest to our event in downtown Portland Pearl District. Highly recommended if you're not looking for luxury. The staff was also very easy to work with.

Great location for riding the MAX. The hotel was dated however the service was great. BRING A HAIR DRYER! There was not one in the room. The mattress was more comfortable than expected, which is a plus. We would stay here again.

I confess that I moved to the Doubletree after a single night. This is a dive motel in the truest sense, but it's right in the middle of a very cool neighborhood of restaurants, cafes, bars, and vintage shops, and the staff were very nice. For the lower price it was cost-effective. The rooms were kept clean and the wireless worked very well. It is a 15 minute walk to the Convention Center and from there Portland's fabulous public transportation system lets you travel anywhere. There are more rooms than parking spaces as I learned when I returned at 9 PM and all spaces were full. The staff explained that yes parking is free but no a space is not guaranteed, which means you have to find a space somewhere in the street in this somewhat seedy neighborhood.

I give this hotel a 4 only because I reviewing it as a budget motel. This hotel cannot be compared to standard hotels such as a Hampton. If you're just looking for a simple comfy room to stay in while you mill about the neighborhood on a short stay, there's more than enough to entertain you within mere blocks. I stay here every time I go to Portland, and can't say enough about the Doug Fir Lounge or Union Jacks for that matter... Stumbling distance from both.

I was originally to give it a 2 points until i saw my friend's room in Double tree hilton rented for 3 times as much. Our room was better in couple ways....it had a mini fridge, micorwave. The Eastside Lodge is literally kitty-corner across the street from the Doug Fir and is priced about 40% less than the on-site Jupiter Hotel.
