Just off I-5 to the east of the Willamette River, the 30-acre Rose Quarter features the Rose Garden arena, Memorial Coliseum, and the Oregon State Convention Center. Acts ranging from Elmo to Bruce Springsteen have played the 20,000-seat arena. To catch the city in bloom, visitors swarm to the Rose Festival’s Grand Floral Parade in June. Nearby, the Lloyd Center is a convenient shopping venue.

Great location if you are in town for a show at the Doug Fir or any other events in the Burnside area. Relatively close to the Rose Quarter/Lloyd Center. Plenty of transit options nearby for a quick ride into downtown or the waterfront. Room and common areas were clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cheap and easy"
This was by far the best location and price we could find closest to our event in downtown Portland Pearl District. Highly recommended if you're not looking for luxury. The staff was also very easy to work with.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"stay at Eastside"
We enjoyed the hotel's location, and the staff was quite nice. However, our room (double plus a single bed) had a funky smell and the faucet handle came off the morning we were leaving. It had been hard to operate prior, but we were still surprised. I've stayed in lots of hotels, and this was a first. For the price, and because we are not that picky, […] this was fine for us for two nights. I don't think I will stay there again, however. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to everything and pretty reasonable"
The hotel was great for us. Close to where we had to go and plenty of places to eat nearby. Only thing was the smell in the room...a little musty. Overall a good stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Weekend in Portland"
Great location for riding the MAX. The hotel was dated however the service was great. BRING A HAIR DRYER! There was not one in the room. The mattress was more comfortable than expected, which is a plus. We would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good time"
It was definitely outdated aesthetically, but it served our needs. Very clean, near to many great restaurants, bars, and at least a few tattoo parlors. Within walking distance of Voodoo Donuts. We didn't have much trouble with noise, but you can hear a really belligerent patron at the bar across the street if you're unlucky. For the price and the friendly […] staff, free wi-fi and cable, we felt satisfied with the price and our stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good hotel for the price the you pay is near town."
I like to get there during the day so I can see how is the neighborhood, so I got there a night I was okay nice and quiet and the city beautiful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Eastside Lodge - do it if the price is right..."
I confess that I moved to the Doubletree after a single night. This is a dive motel in the truest sense, but it's right in the middle of a very cool neighborhood of restaurants, cafes, bars, and vintage shops, and the staff were very nice. Loud, loud, loud, though, and the bed felt more like sleeping on hog wire than an actual mattress. If you're accustomed […] to backpacker-style traveling, then go all in. If you need a little quiet and maybe a smidgen of padding under your behind, you should probably book elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great homey & comfortable lodging."
This was my first time to Portland, Oregon and had events going on across the street at another hotel. I enjoyed staying at Eastside Lodge because it's quiet and homey. The front desk people are always so helpful with everything and they also took the time to get me on the right bus route to where I needed to go. It's not an ultra-modern place, but […] I loved it because there's tons of storage, a fridge, a microwave, a home away from home. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Walk To Doug Fir Lounge. STUMBLE home."
Close proximity to Doug Fir Lounge (right across the street). Parking is free. Park, see a show, walk home (instead of driving after a few drinks).good restaurants nearby. Burnside Brewery, good food, great beer.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great location"
My wife and I enjoyed this hotel. Its location is very good, close to restaurants and bars and easy access to public transportation. It's a good value for the price..Genuine Expedia guest review
"Bad neighborhood"
Graffiti everywhere on building and in elevator. Bad part of town. Room very cramped and smelled like mold. Didn't stay the three days I paid for!!! Don't stay!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Worth the price"
For the lower price it was cost-effective. The rooms were kept clean and the wireless worked very well. It is a 15 minute walk to the Convention Center and from there Portland's fabulous public transportation system lets you travel anywhere. I took the mass transit from the airpot to the Convention Center, walked 15 minutes with my suitcase trailing […] me, and that was it! For $2.40 that's a steal. "A terrific find!"
I was meeting up with a woman friend of mine and we were just hanging out for a few days and wanted to do it on the cheap. I'd stayed on the other end of Burnside last trip and wanted to see another angle. I thought the property was great, vintage early 60's No Tell Motel kind of feel but the owners had clearly given the exterior a good paint job. I'm […] not going to blather on about the decor because I could care less about that, although the bathroom could've really benefited from some new fixtures and a fresh coat of paint. For my needs it was perfect and East Burnside is definitely happenin' with some fantastic restaurants and cute shops! A little noisy from the late night party people but not awful (ear plugs a worthwhile thing to pack). And it felt very safe. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Reasonably priced, great location, great service"
What can I say, it is on several bus lines or a short walk from downtown. It's in a great neighborhood and near Le Pigeon. The desk help was extremely courteous and helpful and the room was clean and simple, just what I wanted.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"no parking space"
There are more rooms than parking spaces as I learned when I returned at 9 PM and all spaces were full. The staff explained that yes parking is free but no a space is not guaranteed, which means you have to find a space somewhere in the street in this somewhat seedy neighborhood.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good for travelers"
This is a good place to crash if you're in Portland for a conference. It is a short walk to to the convention center. Highly recommended for people in their 20s and 30s who are into traveling and don't need a posh experience. Not recommended if you're in need of a romantic getaway, in the classical sense. It shares a parking lot with a dive that has […] karaoke until 2:30 a.m. every night. Free wifi. It's slow, but good enough for email and social networking. Free parking, too. "Hotel for downtown on a budget."
The location is excellent, you can easily walk to downtown or catch a bus if you want. The room was very clean. It came with A/C, TV, fridge, microwave, and ironing board. I wished there were complimentary lotion and conditioner, and the towels were kind of stiff. The staff was friendly, though somewhat hard to understand (quick, accented speech). We […] didn't hear the neighbors either :) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"You get what you pay for"
Excellent location in a funky, up-and-coming portion of town. The hotel does not have updated amenities, but everything was clean, in good condition and surprisingly very quiet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value on a budget, friendly staff"
I give this hotel a 4 only because I reviewing it as a budget motel. This hotel cannot be compared to standard hotels such as a Hampton. It is a gently renovated Travelodge, and although clean enough, the furnishings and bathroom are quite outdated. The location is pretty good depending on what you want to do. It is a 10 minute walk from a light rail […] stop, or a 15-20 walk across the bridge to get to downtown. I had only 24 hours in Portland, and I wish I'd stayed a bit closer to the downtown area, since I didn't have a car. The best thing about this motel was the friendliness of the lady at the front counter. We had a great conversation. Moments like that make me happy to stay in places that some may consider "off-beat". All in all, a great value for the price as well as clean and safe. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"In desparate need of remodel or deep cleaning"
The location of the hotel was great it was close to several hip bars, restaurants, and quaint shops. The outside looks fine and the check in and out was convenient. However, the rooms were terrible! There were weird stains everywhere on the carpet, upholstered chairs, and all over the bedding! Of course all of this was accompanined by a foul smell. "East Side lodge"
This place was clean and very convenient to town but the environment is extremely loud. If you don't mind the noise of a busy street right by your window, trains honking their horns all night long or drunken guests running around at 3am then this place is for you. I asked the reception for a room away from the street but none was available, he said […] the area is "lively". However, the room was clean, the shower was clean with decent pressure and the rate was very good for the location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Eastside Lounge + Doug Fir + Jacks = Woohoo!"
If you're just looking for a simple comfy room to stay in while you mill about the neighborhood on a short stay, there's more than enough to entertain you within mere blocks. I stay here every time I go to Portland, and can't say enough about the Doug Fir Lounge or Union Jacks for that matter... Stumbling distance from both.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Purely Utilitarian Motel"
There is nothing fancy about this motel but it is clean and my interactions with the front desk employees were great. It's a fantastic location for visiting Portland if you'll be in the downtown or NW/NE/SE areas. The room (308) was clean but several elements were super outdated (bathroom especially). The heat and A/C worked, the windows opened for […] fresh air, there was hot water. Bed was comfortable enough. Outside noise was only a problem when people were walking and talking along the sidewalk outside window - not often. The elevator made a HORRIFYING sound both times I took it up ... I didn't fear for my life, but it was still disconcerting. Hotel overall: not great but not bad either. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Our fist trip to Portland"
I was originally to give it a 2 points until i saw my friend's room in Double tree hilton rented for 3 times as much. Our room was better in couple ways....it had a mini fridge, micorwave. Room is very clean, clean linens, towels. My super sensitive wife did smell something mild from toilet. But, keeping the fan on was good enough. Lots of parking […] in the lot and in the street. There was some noice coming from neighboring bar, but, I dont loose sleep over someone else's joy. My 3 year old had lot of fun too. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not the Jupiter, But It's Close (Distance-wise)"
I was attending a concert at the Doug Fir Lounge and was on a pretty tight budget. The Eastside Lodge is literally kitty-corner across the street from the Doug Fir and is priced about 40% less than the on-site Jupiter Hotel. While I love the Jupiter's Ikea-Modern decor, it just wasn't in the budget this time around. What I saved in room rates, I was […] able to spend in the Jupiter's lounge! Of course don't expect anything resembling the Jupiter's ammenities...but if all you need a cheap place to stumble back to after a night of partying at the Doug Fir, the Eastside Lodge is your place.
