Just off I-5 to the east of the Willamette River, the 30-acre Rose Quarter features the Rose Garden arena, Memorial Coliseum, and the Oregon State Convention Center. Acts ranging from Elmo to Bruce Springsteen have played the 20,000-seat arena. To catch the city in bloom, visitors swarm to the Rose Festival’s Grand Floral Parade in June. Nearby, the Lloyd Center is a convenient shopping venue.

Comfortable bed, clean room and linens. Close to everything, easy access and very friendly staff. Probably the only thing that I didn't like was the air conditioning system. Not much cooling at the maximum and very noisy. Good burgers and a cafe across the street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Shamrock weekend"
Beds were awful, felt like sleeping directly on the mattress springs. Had to leave room fan on to drown out traffic noise but the fan rattled all night too. Neighborhood was great for proximity of restaurants but would not stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Low cost, but better than alternate lodgings"
Hotel is adequate for business travel. Rooms are clean but not modern. Free wi-fi is a real plus. Neighborhood can be noisy but this doesn't usually penetrate into rooms. I've stayed there three times and will go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"sub-par service, cleanliness and maintenance"
The manager was hostile on the phone and in person. The bed was comfortable, but there were brown smears on the television and there was hair all over the bathroom tub, walls and floor. When I ran the shower in the morning, the tub filled with brown water! It cleared up after ~ 10 minutes of running the water. There were strips of laminate peeling from […] the tables and the room smelled of smoke. It was convenient to the convention center and reasonably priced. I can not recommend this hotel to anyone. Pay the extra money and stay at a better hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Could have had a cheaper price..."
Honestly I don't think I am very hard to please, however there were some things that people need to know if they are considering staying at this hotel: 1. Location: not bad, Burnside is the main avenue that separates North Portland from South Portland and it's very close to public transportation and other attractions BUT, right now (9/11-13/2012) they […] have construction going on next to the parking lot, which starts making lots of noise from ~7:30AM to ~5PM , it also thickens the air in the room with dust.. Not good :/ 2. Room itself: the bed is decent, couldn't figure out the AC/Heater but there was no need since it had plenty of blankets. Had a very convenient small fridge. Microwave if you need it. Disappointment - The smell of the room (weird Ethanol like smell), & the shower door had some mildew on the bottom border .. Esthetics: the color or the building and the whole look is bland grayish dark .. Made me think of a jail.. Staff: hit & miss, the check-in guy was friendly, the check-out guy was grumpy (may be because it was 6:45AM) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"4 blocks away from OCC, walking distance to food"
It was OK. We picked this hotel/motel for its proximity to the convention center. It's walkable, but with the weather and the number of us (4-5) we drove anyway (we were on our feet all day). The bar (Doug Fir Lounge) across the street is killer. The numbers don't reflect dissatisfaction--the hotel was what it was and we picked it for that. The biggest […] plus was that the hotel honored our "Do No Disturb" sign all week. I'm not a fan of any one poking through my room when I'm not there, so thanks to the Eastside lodge for that. "Eastside Lodge is a great stay for the price."
I was very impressed with the comfort and clenliness of the room for the price. I will recommend this hotel for anyone on a budget. The water pressure in the shower is amazing too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convention"
Although the Hotel is old, it was clean. Very basic room. Disadvantage was there was only 2 plug ins in the entire room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Oldie but Clean"
Although this is an older hotel, I found it clean and comfie. It had all that I needed. I would go back, and would recommend this one to friends.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Not bad for the price"
Pretty typical for a motel. But for the price and location, it is a great budget option. No in room coffee, just a microwave and the only coffee is in the lobby, a bit of a inconvenience. A bit older motel, and the room was a bit musty, but everything was in good order and lots of hot water. Week night was quiet but Friday and Saturday night were a […] little louder and not the best soundproofing, but again for the price I 'm not going to complain. The location was what sold me as easy walking distance to the Convention Centre and a 10 minute walk across the eastside bridge and you are in the heart of downtown with all that fantastic food and nighlife. There is a pretty decent breakfast at the Doug Fir 1/2 blk away and a great brew pub around the corner, and a couple of trendy little restaurants closeby, and thankfully no chain restaurants within sight!
