The check-in agent attempted to downgrade a prepaid room (one month ahead) with two double beds to a single bed and much smaller room. I spent $30 on an evening meal in a vacant restaurant of Holiday Inn. When I was asked for feedback at check-out, I relayed this to another check-in agent, who argued that I was wrong about this until I produced my receipt […] for the double bed room. She made no apologies for her argumentative response to the feedback she requested, and I overheard her describing this to a second agent that overheard our conversation. He also did not say they were sorry for the misunderstanding. The day afterwords, I discovered a $25 charge without basis and was told with three long distance phone calls that this was a hold on my checking account that should be reversed eventually. The other 5 hotels and 2 car rentals for this trip did not charge my credit card and check card for "holding" fees. Amazingly disrespectful concierge service at this hotel! This hotel was not a place that needs to be recommended to other guests. The lobby was dirty and not very clean. You would expect to be welcomed to nice setting and friendly service.
