We have included all charges provided to us by this hotel. However, charges can vary, for example, based on length of stay or the room you book.
West of the Willamette River, downtown offers a celebrated skyline, walkable streets, and a lively arts scene. Visitors shop tax-free at Powell’s Books and Portland Saturday Market, a craft lover’s paradise. Area festivals include Cinco de Mayo and the Oregon Brewer’s Festival. The Oregon Zoo, the swank Pearl District, and the inviting Pioneer Courthouse Square are other noteworthy attractions.

"Would not stay here again"
I was so disappointed in this hotel; I thought "Marriott" was safe bet, but it was the only hotel we have stayed at that charged $12 for wi-fi (everywhere else we stayed wi-fi was free for duration of stay). The room was TINY (whereas others we stayed at were large and expansive, with high ceilings) and this hotel was too far off the beaten path to […] walk anywhere so you HAD to use the car. This wasted time and money because parking in Portland is difficult to find and usually for pay in private lots. Additionally, it was the most expensive hotel we stayed at, you had to pay extra for "water" view, and there was a PLUNGER in the bathroom! That was a first - but I realized why the first time I used the toilet! The valet staff was nice, but they practically had their hands out open palms everytime they spoke to you. I was thoroughly disappointed and would never stay here again even though I plan to visit Portland often. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"room too small and doors too loud"
king rooms are tiny and the bathrooms so small they hang the towels in the shower (they got wet). every door slamming shut made our jostle. everything else was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Wish beds were bigger than doubles. Otherwise, this fit all of our needs. Great waterfront view and convenient location near a trolley stop. Nice bicycle path across the street and bike rentals nearby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"water view and close to waterfront and downtown"
not worth the price paid, room very small to be an expensive per night stay pool and gym very nice, breakfast very nice but very expensive, parking fee way too expensive, bathroom ridicuously small for price and for 3 people's needsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We loved this Marriot! Its great location, river view and close to all the downtown fun. (We even got a river view without asking/paying for one!) Room was clean, service was great and people were nice. Parking is expensive (30 bucks a night) but I think that's standard downtown- and the parking attendants were very nice and helpful. Pool was also great. […] Can't wait to stay there again! We took our two kids and stayed in a room that connected with my in-laws. It was a great place to take the family! "Central location, pricy valet parking and internet"
PROs: Central location - close to everything, decent rooms and restaurant CONs: Internet about $13/day, Valet parking about $30/day - but there is parking accross the street; just keep feeding the meter Note: They will soon do some renovations, so there will be construction going on for some time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Downtown Marriott"
Service was good and room was clean and recently remodeled. We stayed here because it has an indoor pool--which is important with kids--and was very close to Keller Auditorium. Only complaint would be that the room was really small. There is also a Marriott on Broadway, which is a much more central location for restaurants, shopping, and entertainm […] ent. "Small Rooms; Major construction project going on"
The Hotel location was Awesome! It was clean & staff was friendly! Loved the snacks at the front desk & having a coffee cart inside hotel was a plus! Negative part was the size of the room was small & there was major construction going on there during our stay. Otherwise I would definitely recommend this hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"love marriott portland waterfront"
Close to everything .. shopping, great food, try veritable quandry if you haven't (fabulous food, knowledgeable and friendly staff) and entertainment, nice staff. Reasonable rate although they ve gone up recently. But then what hasn't?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Too Small"
We had a room that had two double bed and the room was so small. With two adults and two kids it felt like the room was closing in on you. We asked the staff if they had suggestions of family friendly restaurants and they couldn't think of any. So that was kind of frustrating. Otherwise it was a nice place and I would stay there again, if I had a bigger […] room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Marriot Portland D'town on the River"
Location worked well. While the rooms accommodate 4 people - that assumes 2 persons per bed - a cot is not an option. Go for the breakfast deal as there are very limited options in the neighborhood for a morning meal. Good pool/fitness set-up. The room was only supplied with 3 towels but a call to housekeeping brought a quick response. After extensive […] walking around the downtown area, past some obviously newer, some bigger, and some boutiquier offerings, I would be content to stay here again. Rarely does the Marriott chain disappoint. Our stay here was amazing. When we checked in, the folks checking us in were so welcoming, I felt like we were in their own space. I loved itGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Marriott Portland Downtown Waterfront"
Excellent all around from valet to room service. In an excellent location where everything is within walking distance. The restaurants in the hotel are average so I recommend going elsewhere which isn't hard since there are plenty nearby. I guess the cons would be that internet is 12 dollars unless you're a member and my room didn't have a fridge, but […] other than that it was great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location"
We enjoyed staying at the Marriott Portland Downtown Waterfront for a weekend in mid-April. The staff were very knowledgeable about the area, and were friendly and helpful. The hotel is just across the street from a very nice riverfront area with stores, restaurants, coffee shops, etc., and a quick walk from the free streetcar line. "small rooms, complete with bonus noise nuisance"
very small rooms for 3 people. Tiny bathroom, barely enough space to turn around. We got the room next to the elevator. Needless to say that, plus the drunken party next to us, and the general street noise - euals bad sleep/night. Had to all security twice to get it taken care of. Once should have been enough. the food establishments are outdated & […] not at all what I'd expect from a marriot property. Food was fine. it's away from dowtown and parking is cheaper in piblic lot in next block. Will not retrun. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"comfy and clean for a good rate"
The stay was very quiet and comfortable and I was very pleased with the competitive rate. I stayed 4 nights and added an additional night. Despite a difficult desk guy "allowing" me to remain in my room for the additional night, the overall experience was great and I will book again here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Portland by the River"
Decent hotel with views of the Willamette River. Service from staff was good, but location is not in the main downtown part of Portland.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We highly recommend the Marriott Downtown Portland Waterfront to anyone staying in Portland. The location was perfect, close to any of the public transportation which is by far one of the easiest cities to get around in. I can't say enough about how friendly all the staff were, we never came across anyone who didn't have a smile and a friendly greeting. […] They were also all very knowledgeable about what to see and how to get to the various sights in Portland. The cleanliness and beauty of the hotel and our room were very appreciated. We definitely would stay here on our next trip to Portland. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great place to stay"
The room was great. The bed was very comfortable and the comferters were plush, not like most hotels. The 24 hour gym in the hotel was great. The cardio equipment was top notch, the selectorized was just OK. The restaurant was pretty good. My biggest complaint would be the valet parking. The price was $30/day. There was no alternatives either, other […] than parking blocks away at a smart park or street parking. The location on the waterfront was great. We walked everywhere anyway, OMSI was just a 10 min walk and the waterfront was right there. Would definately stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
