Everything about the hotel was well done. The property was well landscaped and maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful. Easy access to a beautiful beach was directly in front of the hotel. The hotel is located near downtown Lahaina but not so close as to be impacted by the typical downtown congestion.

The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The only complaint was the building air pressure issues. The winds would rattle the balcony doors if they were closed, pushing in the glass panes. If the doors were open, you would hear a whine from the pressure difference between the room and the hallway.

Enjoyed our stay at the Roal Lahina. We were so glad we purchased the Valet service for $15.00 per day rather than walking a long way to get our car in the public lot. Valet service was excellent. Hotel was terrific!

We couldn't imagine a better experience in Maui! We stayed here for 9 days and nights. Good mattresses and pillows, something often missing in hotels these days, made for restful nights. The location was great for access to the beautiful beach and the nice town of Lahaina, which we enjoyed exploring. I would recommend the Royal Lahaina to everyone.

Friends recommended this hotel because they used it in the past. It is an older hotel with lots of charm. This year they are celebrating its 50th year in business. We decided to use it because its starting price was lower than many others starting price in the area. We checked in early morning and our regular room was not ready yet. I loved staying at the Royal Lahaina this month. We stayed there last year just for one night after missing our flight and having to stay another day. I found I liked this hotel better than the one we stayed in for the past 7 days. It has 2 pools, one a deep water one going up to 8 feet (a plus for me because I like to dive), the restaurant is poolside […] as well as a 2nd pool side bar by the other pool, lounge chairs are spaced on the grassy area surrounding the pool, and the beach is just through the hedges. You have a clear view of Molakai and Lanai and if you don't like stepping all over coral when you go into the ocean, the hotel sits on about a 1/2 mile of pure white sand beach (no water shoes required). The staff was friendly and accomodating, giving me extra lotions when I asked (b/c you always run out of lotion before the accompanying body wash). Will stay there again. Read more

I booked an ocean front one bedroom suite, it had an amazing view and had been remodeled fairly recently. I stayed most recently over Christmas 2012, and it was stellar. It's clearly not a newer hotel, but kept up really well at least in the areas I was in. The small stuff that keeps it from being perfect are things I wish they'd just fix because it would be so easy, they are listed in my least favorite things section. My fiance and I stayed at Royal Lahaiana Tower for a week on the 11th floor. The view was outstanding. The restaurant downstairs was ok but a bit overpriced for that type of food. Also I would recommend the road to Hana trip, but don't take the tour, it is expensive rather get a rental car and just follow the road.

We upgraded at check in to an ocean view room. It was well worth the upgrade. We slept with the back door open on the 8th floor and listened to the ocean all night. The beach is stunning on the property. The food services are good. The king size bed was very comfortable and the cleaning crew was very attentive to details. Tips: Do not rent snorkel equipment […] at pool side. There are several places that rent for much cheaper and for that matter you can buy a snorkel and mask in the store on property for less than the rental of the equipment. You don't need the fins unless you are really experienced. There is good snorkeling a short walk either direction on the beach to the rock outcroppings with several fish and other wildlife. We saw stingrays and sea turtles on the rocks just to the south of the hotel. The water just in front of the beach is more like a swimming pool, soft sanding beach with a gentle swimming area in all directions. For excursions: Do take the snorkel trip to Molokini. Do not take the tour of Molokai. If you wish to go to Molokai, do so on your own by renting a rental car and driving the island on your own. The tour was a waste of time and the driver would not stop talking. Molokai is a cool visit, but you will need to reserve the rental car well in advance. We did the luau on the property. It was fine, especially when booked through the Expedia tour guide on the property of the hotel. Read more

We had a great time! Everybody was super nice! We were there in November so there were not a lt of kids. The room was clean and well kept up, the grounds are beautiful, and the staff was polite, it was a great place to stay for our trip to Maui. A couple things to keep in mind, if you have a car the parking lot gets quite full in the evening as there is a luau at the hotel, so you may have to park a little further away. Don't let this scare you though, […] it is not that far. The other thing to remember is you will be charged for parking, I don't think this is a big deal either as the hotel was a great deal for our stay so a small parking fee is really insubstantial. If you do decide to stay here there is a great restaurant by the entrance to the grounds called Basil Tomato's it is reasonable (a rarity on Maui) and the food was excellent. I have stayed at The Royal Lahaina Resort twice now and will stay there again when I return to Maui, there is no better recommendation I can give. Read more

Pros: This hotel is just great! My husband and I went there for our honeymoon. Great location, close to the Whalers Village (10-15min walking distance), Happy Hour from 2pm to 6pm ($6 for a Mai Tai and $4 for draft beer), quiet, relax and clean beach, rooms are cleaned every day, the staff is super friendly (Hawaiian style), Luau available at the hotel, […] close to Old Lahaina Town (10min driving). Cons: Self-parking at $10/day (or $15 for Valet parking). Self-parking spots are pretty small but if you know how to drive, you should be fine. And of course some people don't know how to park their car (or they just don't care about the other) so they take 2 spots... The hotel should make those people pay the valet parking price! Read more

I had such a wonderful time. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. We stayed in one of the cottages. It was a little older cottage but it was nice! I loved laying by the pool and listening to the surf. Being able to walk on the beach and have everything close. I will most surely reccomend this hotel and will come back!!!!
