We choose this hotel for it's ideal location along the northwest Maui coast, with the hotel being very well situated next to a great beach and snorkel location (quite a few turtles in the area). The hotel facilities are a bit dated, but are still certainly acceptable. Dining options at the hotel are good and decently priced (by Maui standards of course). […] Staff was friendly and very capable, especially in particular to a random emergency incident that we witnessed on the beach (they really handled it quickly and professionally). We would echo the same complaint that other reviewers have made concerning the considerable extra fees and costs incurred while staying at the hotel. Pretty much any activity racked up sizeable costs making it feel like you were being slightly nickeled and dime. Read more

We did not get the room we reserved as we got a room with 2 double beds instead of a king which is not cool on a honeymoon. They were not very accommodating upon arrival with this issue or in general but service for the remainder of the stay was good. Nice location, good facility but they need to live up to their promises

This was a beautiful hotel, but we were treated like cattle even though we are members of the hotel chain frequent guest program. We had no help when requested, the staff were surly, everything is additional charges, fodd and drink were way overpriced, waitstaff were ignoring us, kept coming up with 'out of stock' of all of the reasonable priced wines […] to the point of being ridiculous. I even had to ask TWICE to just get the candle lit on our table. There is an important concept in the service industry: Essential nonessentials, and this place has missed the boat on all counts. We stayed at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel the week before, and we felt welcome and as if they wanted us to come back to their property. Everyone had a genuine smil as if they loved their workplace. The KBH understands their customers are on holiday and want to be treated with respect and care. So for less money and a better holiday, we will return to the KBH, NOT the Sheraton Maui. Read more

My husband and I visited the hotel on December 31 through January 7. We stayed in buildingg 6, which was listed as Delux Ocean Front. The room was right on the ocean, and we were on the top floor. The location had views from every angle inside and outside the room. Although the location is not very convenient to activities and other hotel services. […] We had to take 3 different elevators to get to the pool for example--not that we minded walking, but if we want to just run to the room for something, that was unlikely to happen. The room was spacious and extremely quiet. We felt as if we had the whole area to ourelves. There were also some wonderful lounging areas nearby such as in the Rotunda. I did feel that the room service could have been better - it was minimal in my opinion and we were there for 7 nights. Otherwise the hotel employees were courteous. We definitely will stay here again but perhaps in building 4. We previously stayed in the Westin Maui, but we liked the location and quietness of this resort much better. The grounds are spacious and wonderful. We did wish the Starbucks was a regular Starbucks and open all day such as in the Westin. Read more

This hotel was great. The bed and en-suite were good. Step in bath/shower. The air-conditioner was a bit noisy. Balcony was small, although the sunset view was beautiful every night. Apart from that the beach was fantastic. Swam with Green Turtles and heaps of fish (take or purchase googles and snorkel approx US$7). Best pool we experienced in Hawaii. […] Hired a car from the airport on arrival and drove to local shops and sights. Car parking was included in room rate (valet parking cost extra US$5 per day after 1st day). Will stay again one day! Read more

The hotel is located at a scenic location and we were immediately greeted warmly. We were lucky and got a complimentary upgrade which we were very happy with. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.

This resort was everything we expected from Sheraton. It was nice and close to whalers village which had a variety of shops to look around of an evening. The beach resturaunts at whalers were all lovely, save room for your free hula pie on your second visit to leilanis!!! The free shuttle into old Laihaina town was great and the only down side is this […] hotel is a long way from the airport... Best to book a shuttle cause a taxi will cost in excess of $70 one way.. The starwood chain should consider a shuttle as a daily resort fee is charged anyway!! Overall though tops!!! Read more

Heerlijk hotel om lekker uit te rusten en te relaxen. Ligt aan schitterend strand en erg mooi zwembad. Hotel ligt niet op loopafstand van het dorp, maar er rijden wel gratis shuttles naar toe. Minpuntje, hotel ligt redelijk ver van (grote) vliegveld, dus als je geen auto hebt, dan zijn taxikosten behoorlijk hoog. Nu is het sowieso aan te raden om een […] auto te huren om het eiland verder te kunnen verkennen. Tophotel, zou er zeker terug naar toe gaan. Read more
