The Staff here is awesome from top to bottom. Shannon at the front desk and Melissa also were both super, super. The beds in the room are to die for, so are the linens and pillows.

The overall condition of the hotel was very dirty. Worn dirty rugs, dirty furniture. Courtesy driver where terrible and broke speed limits and drove recklessly. Staff was nice. Hotel is in industrial area not what you would expect from a Radisson.

The hotel was fairly clean, although there was at least a year's worth of dust built up on the air conditioner vent in the bathroom that made me wonder what other unseen grime might have existed. The breakfast buffet was hard to find and it's weekend hours weren't posted. Otherwise the hotel was just fine for it's price point.

Located right on the I-95. Service is decent, but the amenities are not that spectacular. The breakfast options are meager and the equipment in the rooms are outdated. The neighborhood is pretty bad too - the police were searching the hotel for a kidnapped child at some point during our stay.

Overall the experience was good. Not very far from NYC. Staff is very supportive. There was some issue with messaging between hotels.com and the hotel. I requested for 2 double bed as I had 4 guests but was given 1 king bed. The staff was ready to shift me to other room but none was available that day. They had one ready for my Day 2.

The hotel messed up our reservation. I booked a room with two double beds and they had it as one king bed - for four people. To make it right they gave us a king suite with a sleeper sofa and a roll-away bed. The sofa and roll-away beds had horrible mattresses that were thin and worn in the middle. Luckily we had air mattresses with us that we put in […] top of their mattresses. The continental breakfast consisted of bread, bagels, donuts, melon, and two types of cereal. Nothing great but okay. The hotel was very clean and the king size bed was very comfortable. The hotel was about 1/2 hour away from the Journal Square PATH station which takes you into NY for $2 per person. It was perfect for us as we don't mind driving. There is also a good size mall close by where we went to eat at the Five Guys restaurant (more like a small shop in the mall, but still good). The kids loved shopping and the parents loved the burgers. I would stay here again but would make sure to verify they have my room reservation correct. Read more

The room itself is clean and the breakfast is great,the service was just HORRIBLE! I checked into the hotel on Sat with a res for 3 adults and 2 beds. The first room we were put in was 1 king size bed. I come back downstairs so I can get shuttled to the airport so I can take the train downtown NY. I asked the same girl who checked me in what time is […] the last shuttle, and she told me "don't worry about it, just call us when your ready for pickup". So I called at like 1200am asking for shuttle, and the girl tells me the shuttle stops running at midnight, sorry. I spent $60 on a taxi. Then on Sun when I did call for shuttle at 817pm, I waited over an hour. When I finally came to the hotel, I asked to speak to a manager to resolve the taxi issue from the day before and I was told that they will be in on Mon from 9-5pm. I told the girl that I need this issue solved before I left, so she called the manager at home and explained the situation and was told that the manager "does not recall telling me to just call". So Mon comes and I had to leave so I left a copy and statement for the general manager about the taxi situation because once again there was no manager available. And to make things worse, the shuttle was 30 min late for airport drop off and when another guest told him their running late, he told her she shouldve have left earlier. The same guest told me she ended up taking a taxi as well because she was told the same thing. Read more

In my opinion, this was an okay hotel. The room was resonable, and the beds were somewhat comfortable. The location of the hotel felt a bit sketchy, because there wasn't a single open buisness near the hotel for 500 feet. Overall, I enjoyed the hotel.However, taking the NJ Transit from Rahway to New York Penn Station was long (and EXPENSIVE!!!).

At check-in we were told that hotel shuttle took us to the Path train station in Newark. It didn't. It went to Rahwey and we caught train in to NYC. Return trip via shuttle- would not pick us up at agreed time, made us wait in rahwey for 1/2 hour Trip back to hotel was white-knuckled adventure When we went up to the room neither sleep number bed worked […] and remote for tv was missing batteries. we stay at the carteret radison every thanksgiving for easy access to new york city. the hotel is the lowest priced 4 star hotel within a 30 mile radius of new york city (but is only 18 miles away). it is spotless clean, with very good quality beds, bedding, carpet, furniture, halls, lobgby, resturants, and bathroom fixtures... included in with the […] room rate is a full breakfast buffet every morning from 6:30am to 9:30 am and weekends to 10:00am. On the buffet are scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoe, cereals, doughnuts, bagels, fresh fruits, a waffle machine for made fresh and hot waffles (best part of the meal) and toaster for fresh toast, orange juice, cranberry juice, apple juice, milk, coffee and tea. all really good quality food, very fresh and surprisingly hot due to heavy turn over/ demand. hotel always sells out on our stay periods. very, very nice!!! ride into and out of new york via the holland tunnel is very easy and surprising quick (note: it is a holiday week stay referenced?). never dissapointing and always a quiet, comfortable, and respectfully dignified stay. some fast food and a couple of bars and other resturants on same exit for other dinner options. however carteret does not offer much more in support of your hotel then that and is very dissapointing in providing more meaningful surrounding support to the hotel. but hotel is truely a 4 star hotel at a 2 star price. can't wait till next thanksgiving!!! Excellent price point and location for a family visit to NYC. The price was less than a third of a NYC hotel and offered free cold/hot continental breakfast! The hotel was only 10 minutes to the NJ Transit Rahway Station.

This is a very nice hotel but coming from Westchester County we had to pass the airport and travel another 15 minutes to get to the hotel. Shuttle pick-up from the airport took about 45 minutes. The price was right though!

Before booking my trip to NYC I searched for hotels with a reasonable rate and came across this one with decent reviews saying it was near NYC. I called the hotel and talked to someone asking about the convenience of travel to NYC. They said that there is a shuttle bus that runs until midnight that can drive you to/from the railway station only about […] 5 minutes away. I was told the train is less than thirty minutes of a ride and I also asked how much was the rate of the fare for the train and the gentleman said $2.75. It turned out when I finally visited, the fare per person to/from the rail station and New York Penn is almost $10 per person each way (and there were more than one travelers) and the shuttle bus runs only until 11:30 pm, and not always when you need it. We had to take a cab several times which cost us an additional $10 to/from the railway station. And on top of that, the train leaves once every hour and it's a 40 minute train ride to/from each of the stations. The first day I arrived, I had called for shuttle service for 4:10 pm. The girl at the front desk told me there were other customers who requested it at 4:30 and if it was okay to go with them. I had to be in Times Square earlier so I requested that she call a cab since 4:30 would be too late. 4:25 comes around and there is no sign of the cab, so I go back in and talk to the girl at the front desk and said to cancel the cab because I would rather take the shuttle with the other customers. She told me they already left. I asked her when, since she told me they would leave at 4:30. She said they left at the time she talked to me, which was 20 min before. I was very upset as she knew the importance of my destination and that is why I requested a cab as opposed to waiting for the shuttle. She could have called me back to let me know the shuttle bus was available for departure. The cab finally came at 4:45, and our driver broke a few red lights to get us to the train stop. My family opted to stay here instead of spending a fortune to stay in a hotel in NYC. The hotel and rooms were very clean. The complimentary breakfast was good, not the best, but still very good. There is also a Dunkin Donuts right around the corner if you dont want the free breakfast. Having a free shuttle was also a plus. We used it to take us to and from the train station which was about 10 minutes away. The train took us straight to Penn Station. The only complaint I have was the dinner at the restaraunt. We wanted to visit NYC, but we didn't want the extreme price tag, so we opted to stay in NJ and take the train over each day. This hotel provided shuttle to Rahway trainstation, and back each day. The amenities at this location are great. A pool would be a nice addition but I knew they didn't have one when booked. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful. There was a mix up on our second night (1:00 in the morning) when the front desk gave our room number and passkey to another guest. this hotel was a surprise. It was very clean and modern, great bathroom. I did not like their special beds, but that is personal. Nice breakfast included in a very good price. It is far away from the airport and the shuttle comes only if you call them to pick you up. We waited 45 minutes before we realized it.
