"Older hotel not a "resort""
The Inn of the Hills is not a resort unless you count resorting to the bar for something to do. They offered us passes to the family fitness center across the street as an apology for the deceiving hotel & resort description. Could have stayed at a nicer place for the money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The heater kept waking me during the night with very loud popping sounds. The TV did not work. It would light up when turned on but that was it. The room and hotel were very clean, restaurant service was good. Good location and easy to find.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms are a little outdated other than that it was quiet. Stayed in nov and was a little disappointed that the pool wasn't heated so our little girl could swimGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not a "resort.""
The lobby, restaurant and grounds are lovely. Our room (204) was not! The green carpet was old, dirty and coming up. The sink needed to be replaced but the bath/shower was new. The upper cabana room we had did not have a balcony. We had to enter/exit our room facing the parking lot. It rained, and we got wet while walking to the lobby. The Inn is really […] a motel......certainly NOT worth the price. We were disappointed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I thought that the hotel was ok. It had a very nice breakfast buffet. We got the buffet with the price of the room. I think without the room the buffet would have been a bit pricey. The Inn is old, so it looked old. It was alright for the night and for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quiet and Cozy"
Our family spent the weekend in Fredericksburg for some shopping, and to get out of the city. We decided to stay here because of the old fashioned country feel and quietness. That is what we got. The hotel has definitely been around for some time, but it is very cute and quaint. Another reason we chose this hotel, is because the description said it […] had an indoor pool. Being the middle of March, my 5 year old was very excited! After walking around the grounds and seeing only outdoor pools, we asked the front desk, only to find it was in fact in a rec center across the street. Nevertheless, my son had a ball. The restaurant was constantly cooking with a great deal of food. However, the $16 per person buffet was a little out of our budget, even though it advertised prime rib. The dance hall/bar was hopping, and looked like fun. However, it wasn't an environment for young children. Overall, we had fun and will go back if we decide to head that way. I do wish they had a DVD player in the room, and a TV upstairs in the loft. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A fee complaints"
There is no elevator and we had a stroller. The photos make it look better than it is. We were on top of the restaurant and could hear the music through the floor. We asked them to turn it down twice. We could hear it over our tv. The bed was hard. A desk was sitting in the middle of the living room blocking the refrigerator. With the room we had we […] had a full service breakfast, but when I asked for bacon they said it would be an additional charge because they give us so much already for free : s Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Don't bother to look at this one!"
Buffet was a joke started at 6:00 at 6:30 they were still not even ready to serve. Food was cold, had to ask for refills on coffee and we were the only two people there. Internet was Terrible. No connection and when there was real slow. Fitness center was across parking lot at a differant facility which was just ok!Genuine Expedia guest review
"This is a motel not a resort."
Room was nice and big for a motel. Stayed in the king room. It was clean. Thought we were staying at a resort...this is a motel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointing"
We had heard good things about this older hotel from friends, and it looked good on the Internet, so we arrived with expectations of nice rooms, relaxation time in the outdoor spa, and excellent service. The room smelled very musty (once we figured out the door handle worked backwards and got it open), there was a dead roach in the middle of the bathroom […] floor, and the carpeting was sticky all over. The shower connection sprayed water onto the floor even after we tried to tighten it. The pool/spa area was locked and looked lime it had been for some time. The full breakfast looked great, but the food was not hot, the servers were rude and we finally gave up on coffee refills. When we asked about getting more coffee after waiting a 1/2 hour and completing our meal, we were scolded by the hostess. That did it. We left. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
""too busy" for room service"
This place is called a resort. Although it has quite a few "amenities" it's probably a better summer place. It is NOT a resort. NEGATIVES: saw a near dead large roach on bathroom floor on first morning. Door was not very secure. There was no room service menu in room. When I called they said they were really busy in the dining room and it would be awhile; […] I could go and pick up the menu but actual room service would be a wait! POSITIVES: great breakfast buffet. Try to get a package that includes it. Is worth it. Very wide parking spots.....great when you are driving a brand new mustang and don't want door dings! Microwave fridge and coffee maker in room. Most of the dining staff are older but really sweet ladies!! They have specialty buffets each night, and really can't beat the Friday night seafood Buffett for $16.95/pp. I think it would be fun to stay there in the summer as the pool area seems nice. You had no internet connection, the TV was OLD and you did not have movies to rent off the TV. The buffet breadfast was awful. We came for the Kerrville folk festival. You had no displays on what was going on locally and no one knew where it was.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"small town motel"
it was an ok little motel and the people where nice. The restraunt was good it had good morning buffets for not to much money. The motel does need a little updating, but I dont understand what people expect for small town hotels or motels. If you are looking for something classy like the Weston or Ritz Carlton ot Hyatt this is not the place to stay […] then or the town to come visit. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"An aging queen"
The Inn of the Hills once was THE place to stay in Kerrville. The rooms are large and the construction is attractive with a rock wall highlighting the Texas Hill Country surroundings. There is a very large pool and a small, intimate pool that is tucked away in one end of the courtyard. Very nice. But small maintenance items are catching up with them. […] The shower head howled like a banshee. The carpet had a greasy feel that may have just been from too many applications of Scotchguard as it did not turn our feet black as would a dirty carpet. Without going into particulars, the IotH seemed somewhat overpriced for what was offered. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
