"Gotta say I was disappointed..."
Let's start with the good... the staff was very friendly and the idea of a Riverboat hotel is romantic. Unfortunately, no TV in the room (one has to sit in a common area to view TV), and no phone in room. The bathroom sink was located in the main (and very small) room with a very small toilet closet to the side. Windows do not open and the room was […] musty. Our room was on the "bank" side of the boat and our view was of trash and such washed onshore from recent rains. Perhaps one with a greater sense of adventure would enjoy the "rustic" qualities... my husband and I, however, were expecting more based on online photos. The views from the decks were wonderful and the Delta Queen is conveniently located, close to shopping, attractions and convention center. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fun for one night"
Nice historical concept. Great staff. Not very handicap accessible. Rooms need some refurbishing. Towel racks are rusted. Some light fixtures not working. Biggest complaint - towels are thinner than a motel 8. Seems a little pricey for value but fun for 1 night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not for me"
I arrived in the evening and it was deserted in the parking lot which is not good for a lady traveling alone. The young lady at the front desk was not very welcoming and when I went to my room with the bunk beds I was surprised at how small it was. But mostly I was concerned that anyone could walk on the boat there did not seem to be any security and […] my room led to the outside deck. Also, the doors did not seem secure AT all, there was only a sliding latch on the inside which did not seem to secure the door very well. I honestly felt like I was on a TV show being pranked. It was not comfortable and I could still hear people laughing and playing music loudly. So, I decided to just leave, the man inside was extremely nice and upgraded my room for no additional fee and gave me a queen bed inside the cabin. That was enough to convince me to stay. Unfortunately the door did not lock any better and I put a chair under the knob. The tiny bathroom smelled moldy and it was freezing cold and my bed was up against the window. The bed was comfortable though and there were lots of blankets. So I tucked myself deep under the covers and got some much needed rest. For me it was the worst hotel experience I have had. I understand that this is a boat but basic issues of cleanliness, security and heat are basic things that every hotel should be mindful of. Even the second room was not worth the $80 price tag. Just not for me. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great adventure"
I enjoyed this stay! My confusion was on the parking and where it cost/where it was free. The sit-down breakfast was yummy!! Grits were terrific!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful location and rooms!"
The Delta Queen was a joy to stay in with interesting history and beautiful wood interiors. I stayed during the week and the hotel had several vacancies. I was upgraded to a standard indoor cabin which was lovely! The only negative is that the shower is small and it took a while for the water to heat. Overall very much enjoyed the experience and views […] from the boat of the river! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Different, but cool!!!"
It was different and I wished it was for leisure, so others could have enjoyed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quirky but fun hotel"
The Delta Queen is a retired steamboat--which brings some quirks. If you don't realize that going in, you may be disappointed or frustrated. But it provides a fun atmosphere if you're looking for something "different". The staff was friendly and the room was very clean. No complaints there. The Delta Queen has lots of history to explore and is docked […] in the park, which is perfect for those looking for leisure activity. A few of the quirks: By nature of what it is, the rooms are very small. I ended up with a "bunk cabin" since I was travelling alone for business. At 6'4" it was pretty cramped. I touched both ends of the bed and had to lean over to fit through doors and into the shower. There are no TVs in the rooms, only a shared TV in the bar area. Overall though, it was a good experience. I would probably recommend against the Delta Queen for most business travel, but it would be a great place to stay for a few days as a couple. "Great Location!"
I live close, but had a fundraiser on the Southern Belle, so I thought I would be fun to stay across the river at the Delta Queen. Downtown Chattanooga is such a great place to stay! And the Delta Queen is one of the least expensive and you are right in the middle of everything down at Cooridge Park. We did a little shopping in the stores around the […] park, ate lunch at Northshore Grill. walked the Walnut Street Bridge. Fall is a great time to be there. Breakfast was also yummy! Service was also wonderful! Lot's of history on that boat! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst hotel experience ever!!!!"
I booked a bunk room on hotels.com and boy was this the worst. First of all, the room felt like a prison cell. Smallest hotel room I've ever seen. Im 6'3 and I had to duck my head in the bathroom. The room had a musky smell when we arrived. And with no t.v, it was super boring. What tops it off was no hot water in the shower. So after trying both knobs […] separately for about 20 min, I realized it's not getting hot. So I went down to the front desk (mad), and asked if they had hot water or not! The manager said "yes, it should be working fine. It takes a few mins to warm up. So he said "I'll be up to take a look at it... He never came. So I just rolled out with no shower. What's really funny, when I checked out, the manager said he checked it and it was fine. Basically saying we we're lying. Unbelievable!!!!!!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The old girl still got it"
I was utterly charmed by the Delta Queen. I think the upkeep of the floating antique was admirable, the staff friendly and helpful, and the room one of the cleanest I've seen. I don't know when I've slept better on the road. The little beds could be clouds. The breakfast was tasty and hot, I am a sucker for fresh-baked blueberry muffins. I can't wait […] to go back. "Stay for the coolness factor"
Spending a couple of nights on a steamboat? Nothing beats that. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Had a near "haunting" scare but that makes my story to friends and family much much interesting. Close to everything. Scenic, quiet and peaceful. No tvs in rooms. A good thing ... made me go out and hang out!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Back in time."
We really enjoyed our stay. The boat could use some minor cosmetic repairs. The rooms are small, but we expected that on a boat. We had a wonderful stay. We will be going back the next time we are near. Love the wood work throughout. I hope it will be around for a long time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth it"
Stayed at this hotel due its proximity to the office - big mistake. If you are looking for an authentic experience in stating in a hotel stuck in time this is place for you. I checked out of the hotel after the first night and moved across the river to a descent place. That all said, the breakfast was fair and the neighborhood and park next to the hotel […] are great. "Riverboat unique stay"
We got in late, and just wanted the beds. There was almost no one staying there. We were put on the second deck (no elevator) behind a stairwell in a little cabin so small that the two beds (singles) are stacked. However, the room is functional, and the beds were comfortable. The pillows needed help. Breakfast is included with the room, and although […] the website indicates a buffet, our experience was menu table service. The breakfast was good, but not great. Maybe since it was Tuesday before Thanksgiving, no one stays there. I am glad we visited, and would again if the price was right, meaning more right that what we paid this time. However, it is a beautiful boat, and there won't be any more like it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"lovely hotel"
Very comfortable and well kept up, lots of history, but be prepared for some tight spaces, think cruise ship type cabin and bathroom, but more luxurious. We have stayed in 3 different rooms and each had a slightly different bathroom layout. If you are tall, check that you will be comfortable in the shower. I would highly recommend getting a room with […] windows that face the river and bridges which are so pretty lit up at night, and not facing the park, which seems to have some bright lights at night which we couldn't block out completely. Overall, a great experience, and we always stay whenever we are in Chattanooga for the weekend. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Delta Queen - secret to be revealed"
Not too many people even realize this is a hotel in Chattanooga. It sits on the river so has a beautiful view of the city and is located in a park area. Walking distance for shops and food. Men will love this hotel b/c it is an old river boat, and woman will love the romatic feel (plus, there is no rocking of the boat b/c it is secured. The rooms are […] small, but again, you are on an old boat. If you stay on the top floors you need to start your shower for about 5-10 minutes before getting in if you want hot water...but that was my only complaint. Great staff, beautiful surroundings, definately recommend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Too expensive, small, hot room with poor service"
Disappointed to say the least. The room was expensive for what you got. Very small. The air conditioner was not cool enough. The toilet stopped working. There was no silverware, plates or cups for the breakfast for 20 minutes. We left one day early because we were so miserable. They would not refund the difference but gave us a voucher for another stay […] later because they said that hotels.com would not refund them the money. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"No Hot Water! No Water at All"
arrived in our room to find it very hot. Had to go purchase a $27.00 fan just to be able to sleep. I was in Chattanooga for a job interview. Got up the next morning to take a shower for the interview and found out no hot water then no water at all! Kids running around on the deck outside our room all hours of the night. Would not recommend for anyone […] to spend the night. However if you just wanted to tour the boat and listen to the history that would be great. People that are supposed to be working on the boat you can find them in the bar instead of doing their job!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Forget breakfast"
"We begin by offering you a steaming hot cup of coffee, tea or a selection of juices. We’ve filled our buffet table with an assortment of fresh fruit, an abundance of delicious pastries and assorted cereals, as well as many of your breakfast favorites”. Not so!! The coffe often runs low. There was no fresh fruit, no assorted cereals, and foget eggs […] benedict! Instead, there were rubbery scrambled eggs, greasy bacon, chicken fingers???, biscuits and pastries. Not for the light hearted and healthy appetite!. On our second morningthere was no breakfast at all as the kitchen ran out of eggs and bacon the day before, and made no attempt to purchase fresh for the next day. It was absolutely shameful. It would be so much easier to have bagels, bread (with toaster), fruit, yogurts, cereal, etc on the buffet table. That would leave only scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon to be cooked by the kitchen staff, and happier customers!!!! I would also like to add that a mis count was given to the kitchen staff on the Tuesday morning – but even that should not have been an issue as your advertisement reads that breakfast is offered to the public at $8.99 a head. I would think that $8.99 should purchase a little more than rubbery eggs and greasy bacon, wouldn’t you?? Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Slow Season"
The location is great, as it's walking distance to the small shops, restaurants, bars, and the park. The foot bridge it right next to the 'hotel' so you can access the other side of the river on foot. However, there room was too hot when I checked in the afternoon, most likely from the sun, and there was no A/C. It cooled down by the time I went to […] sleep. The shower did not have any hot water in the morning. I'm sure this place is a lot better during the Spring and Summer, when they are full of guests. Otherwise, this is a great alternative to a normal hotel, as you're on the water and walking distance of night life. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A bit surprising but Worth It ..."
At first I was a little concerned because the hotel is docked ship. The room was small with no tv and was warm. I asked the staff to adjust the air conditioning and ultimately I was very satisfied with my stay. This was a unique experience that I would recommend to anyone who doesn't want to stay in your traditional hotel room. The bed was comfortable, […] free wifi access, and plenty to do in the surrounding area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
