I love Holiday Inn Express hotels, but this one was horrible. I had booked a room with two beds and was told they didn't have any rooms left with two beds. I requested a roll away bed and had to call down 2 times and go down to the desk 1 time to request one again. I still never got a roll away bed. The hotel was fine, but Holiday Inn's definition of a suite is very different than mine. I was looking for a suite because I needed a seperation from the living area so my daughter could nap while I got some work done. Room was pretty tiny. It was close to the Aquarium, not a terrible distance from restaurants. The hotel was hot, never a big difference from the summer heat on the outside. Very unhappy with my stay at this hotel. First off the staff here is more interested in socializing than helping customers, had to stand at the counter for almost 20 min and wait on someone help me while I listened to them play in the back. 2nd the beds are very uncomfortable. Would have enjoyed the floor more than the beds. 3rd and this is the kicker, […] watch out for the hidden fees!!!! No staff at the hotel at any time of my stay from check in to the morning of check out advised me of a NIGHTLY PARKING FEE..... The just slid a bill under my door the morning of check out. "Jiggle The Wires"
Our TV did not want to seem to work on digital setting therefore it was very snowy. When I asked about it the young lady at the front desk told me to jiggle the wires and that might help. Upon check out I was asked if all was okay and I told the front desk about the TV situation. I was not angry just wanted to watch football while the girls swam. They […] offered to refund the two nights I stayed for my trouble. This was a gracious gester but to much. The girl insisted on refunding one night. I feel she went above and beyond. We had a great trip and loved the hotel. It was very convenient to downtown without having to pay the downtown price. We loved this hotel stay! It is a newer hotel (or at least it has been renovated to look new). The room was lovely and the friendly staff was remarkable! The free hot breakfast buffet was incredible too. They serve scrambled eggs and bacon along with the usual cereal, juice, bagels, etc. They also serve Seattle's Best coffee and have these amazingly […] delicious hot cinnamon buns each morning. Our room had a mini refrigerator and microwave which made keeping snacks and leftovers on hand for hungry little children a snap! Nice hotel, nice room, very clean. Pool was nice, disappointed there wasn't a hot tub, but it wasn't critical. Very crowded at breakfast, but there was a softball team staying there. Our experience was above and beyond our expectations. When I read others reviews about having to pay for parking and not being aware of that payment, I was nervous that it would be a lot, but when I inquired about it I learned that it is only a few bucks! What is there to complain about? The Breakfast hot bar was AMAZING! Room service was fast too! […] We wanted to go downtown without driving and learned that it was a nice walk to do so! We walked to dinner, almost to the Aquarium in downtown! I wish we had checked in first and then walked downtown instead of paying for crazy downtown parking fees, but we know that for the future!
