"Time to update"
I stayed at this hotel five years ago and was very impressed. Now, I am sorry to say I observed a hotel in need of attention. While the staff continues to be excellent, the building and grounds are showing some inattention to regular maintenance. Cost saving measures like water saving shower heads also compromise the experience by significantly reducing […] the flow of water. It is past time to renew the bedding as well. I would hope that the ownership of this hotel will address these issues, because this hotel certainly had great beginning. We have loved the Chattanoogan, but on a recent stay, there was a very, very loud mechanical noise coming from the bathroom wall (pipes??) that woke us up in the middle of the night, then started again about 8 am. It literally sounded like the pipes were going to rattle out of the wall. When we mentioned the noise to the front desk, they looked at us […] blankly and said "Thanks for letting us know". A beautiful hotel...altho the address puts you at the backdoor with no parking...just continue on to next side street and turn alongside the hotel. you will come to the entrance. The large sign is hidden due to construction across the street.
