Our room had a musty smell the entire time we were there. I found an old cigarette butt laying on the top ledge of the shower enclosure. The staff went over and above to make our stay comfortable. The main person we dealt with was Brenda. We had booked a handicapped room which unfortunately would not allow the wheelchair access to the bathroom. We reserved a bay view room for 5 nights and ended up staying an additional 4 nights. We were given a room on the 3rd floor (top floor) and in the corner. It was a great location in that it was quiet and very secluded from foot traffic. This is certainly not a luxurious hotel/motel. The motel is very convienently located on the main road through Pensacola Beach. We had easy access to our vehicle. And what more has to be said about being within a few minutes walk to the beach and having a direct view of the water from the balcony outside our room We did not realize that the annual Fiesta de Luna was taking place the weekend after we left. Four days before we left, a huge stage was being constructed on the beach right outside our room. The construction vehicles were very noisy. "Price too high for what you got !"
I requested joining rooms when making the reservations what I got was two rooms side by side. When checking in I was told check in was at 3:30pm I got there at 4:30 pm and was told joining rooms was only if they had them and they didn't. One room was clean and the other we were told would be 30 min wait. Hotel check in area was very hot and so was the […] elavator and the one room. We paid extra for a view room and that was nice. We had been driving 8 hours and were tired and hot and went to get some ice only to find out that wasn't working either. I took my shoes off only to find a very wet carpet all over that you had to leave your shoes on all the time........After other room was ready we once again had to wait for that room to cool so that made the wait even longer. They did call us when the room was ready only to find out one room key didn't work and when you shut the door and tried to open it again the door handel came off in your hand. The beds was comfortable but in all if I would have seen this Hotel I would have never booked it at $$$ a night. Glad we only stayed 2 days ! I was leary about booking this hotel after reading some of the negative reviews. The rooms were modest, but clean and comfortable. We did not get the beach side room, but were located right around the corner from them on the third floor and it was an excellent view. We were actually happy not to be on the Gulf side because it was very windy during our […] stay and it was more pleasant on the side. For the price we paid on hotels.com I think this was a great deal. The staff was very friendly especially in the evening when our family would go in the lobby to play cards or ordered pizza. My only complaint is that the cleaning staff knew we were staying the week and didn't seem eager to do more than exchange towels and empty the waste baskets. However, they were very, very nice when we asked them to do anything we wanted -- such as vacuum (our teenagers had brought some sand in the room with them) and they also changed the sheets a night even though we did not request it. Overall, we would recommend this hotel to you (unless you are really fussy about having newer bedspreads, carpets, and draperies -- then go to one of the neighboring locations and pay more $. Note: the bedspreads/drapes were clean, just not new) For our family, we preferred the lower price to the "new". Also, the beds were comfortable. The property was also being worked on while we were there -- trimming bushes, a new patio on the back side and preparing to paint eaves -- so it looks like they are maintaining it well. The breakfast was nice -- cereals, oatmeal, orange and apple juices, bagels, mini-muffins, fruit -- not hot, but adequate, and like someone else said -- great coffee. Also, good cookies during the afternoon/evening. This was an excellent location on the Gulf with beautiful white sand beaches and two pools - a little bit shallower one for the kids; close to shopping, restaurants, and the pier.
