Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham York

I read the reviews for this hotel here on Expedia. I should have taken the warnings of "stay at your own risk" more seriously.. The pictures look alright but don't be fooled, this hotel is filthy. I stayed 3 nights, house keeping didn't come the first to days but she did show up the day we were checking out :-/ The staff is rude, even if you are polite […] to them they seem to be in a zombie state of no emotion. No smiles, no good morning, no hello how was your stay, nothing. I realize the price may be attractive to you right now, as it was for me when I booked the room. Let me save you the disappointment, it's not even worth it to save money on this place. You want to enjoy your time in shopping heaven, not be stuck with hotel services from hell. We found the pillows and sheets covered in hair from previous guests. Easy to see wrinkles on used sheets and pillows. Did former guests stay a week? One thing is primary for any hotel establishment...clean beds! This was unacceptable and inexcusable. Room was OK but walls were thin and neighbor had TV on all night long. Lobby was not clean and the framing on the elevator floor was disgusting. 2 out of 6 days my room was not made and my friend's was missed 3 times. Breakfast was ok. Pool water did not look clean and hot tub was a chlorine bubble bath!! Will not stay here again.

The place looked like it was built in a day. Toiletpaper roll came right out of the wall when you used it. The carpets were filthy. The comp shampoo was used and allmost empty. No nonslip pad in the shower and the shower doors still had writing on them in the steam because they had not been cleaned after the last people stayed. One bar of soap for sink […] and shower. Cobwebs had not been vaccumed from the ceiling. But the final straw was the fact that staff let a wedding party(sounded like a frat party) go on in the halls and lobby until 1:30 in the morn. hooping, hollering, whistling, slamming doors, falling down. It sounded like new years eve in time square, and never once did staff ask them to please keep it down other people are trying to sleep. I 'm sorry I'm not some old stick in the mud. I can party like a rock star with the best of them...but there are plenty of bars and night clubs in the area...wich me and my wife took full advantage of but when we get back to the hotel we are quiet and respectful of others. Some of us have to be up early and travel a long way. On one and the only good note our bed was the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in. I've worked in the hospitality buisness for over 20 Yrs. and my stay at the York ME Microtel was just plain bad. Much improvement needed there. ;( Read more

I stayed at the Microtel in Dover last year and this year I was in charge on booking rooms for our girls shopping trip. Since the Microtel in Dover was so clean and nice I decided to book the hotel in York. Well what a disappointment. HORRIBLE stay. The continental breakfast in the morning was unsanitary - dirty tables, overflowing garbage cans, boiled eggs thrown in a container for guests with no cover - long hair found in the container. Quite simply - it was disgusting. Go anywhere else in York Beach. We checked out and went somewhere else for breakfast.
