My particular room (#202) was a little peculiar in arrangement. Mostly because it was in a triangular part of the building, so it was also triangular in shape. "Not perfect, but well suited to my needs"
The room–two double beds–was clean but a little crowded. The beds–although they had strange, almost vinyl-like sheets–were very comfortable. We were discomfited on one morning of our stay by a staff member at 8 am in the hallway making too much noise on his radio. But for the most part, we felt comfortable and well received. Front desk was very helpful and acomodating. We stayed Saturday afternoon through Monday morning. Sunday late afternoon the room had not yet been cleaned up and I had to call the front desk to have someone come up. They came within 10 mins. The hotel is strategically located for easy access to major arteries around DC. It is the first exit traveling from the Beltway towards Baltimore on I95. It is located on a private business that is shares with a Move Theater and an office building. There is plenty of parking. The rooms are somewhat dated. High Speed wireless is available in the Lobby, but to get it in your room you need to give your CC to AT&T. We were able to access the wireless router free from our room for a few days, but the connection was intermittent. The fitness center was good, not great. It served my needs well though. They provide plastic cups in the rooms, which are a pet peeve of mine. They had cable and provided Showtime, which also was good enough for us. We did not eat at the hotel, although they had a dining facility. They had an outdoor pool that was small, but not too small. I don't know about an indoor pool. I have stayed here many times and it is a good hotel for the area. Other competition are the nearby Hilton Garden Inn and Courtyard. I found the rooms facing the highway to by noisey. when we arrived at hotel, it was beautiful, minus the empty reception desk. when an employee finally cam ein, he couldnt even say hello (Kristopher), handed us our key and started doing other things. "Finishing touches overlooked"
My husband and I stayed at the Sheraton Washington North Hotel in Rm. 514 from June 29th to the 30th. In general the room was fine but the finishing touches were overlooked: · There was no light switch at the room’s entrance which made it necessary for me to fumble to the bathroom where I put that light on so I could then see enough to turn on the […] switch for each individual lamp. (There was a blank plate where the switch plate should have been.) · The phone did not work. I had to use the hall phone because… · There was no hairdryer in the room. · Also, the bath mat was wet because… · The shower dripped. · The hook on the back of the bathroom door was missing. On the other hand the staff was wonderful! The front desk staff and the shuttle drivers were helpful and courteous. Hopefully Rm. 514 will be brought up to its 3 star standing and its price.
