"Hidden gem"

"Superb in Every Way"
In short, my experience here at the Cedarbrook Lodge was perfect. The lodge (which is no exageration) is located in a literal "oasis" in an otherwise predictable airport area. It is moments away from the airport - 5 minutes. It feels like it's a world away. The facilities are more 5 Star than "3.5" as listed. The fitness facility has new machines as […] well as free-weights. Towels, water and a locker room top out the experience. Additionally the attention-to-detail in each aspect of the stay. The rooms and bathrooms are top-shelf and rooomy, beds comfortable and the "living rooms" in each building offer an "at home" element I've rarely seen. Right next to airport so don't expect quiet. However the rooms are sound proofed pretty good and with the window closed you barely hear the planes. Te grounds are an amazing garden and very private. "Valet blew a great experience"
Arrived in the rain was pleased to see a valet with a stack of large umbrellas. I got out, he came over to the car in his rain coat and watched me unload my own bags in my suiit jacket, while it was pouring rain on me. Took my keys and I ran into the hotel dripping wet . I don't think it'll be long before the secret's out about this place. Think isolated resort, except it's 3 minutes from the airport, surrounded by trees and wetland. Highly recommend.. Tripadvisor was spot on with this review... . I have traveled all over US and this is one of tne best "airport" hotels out there.. "its like your no where near an airport".. The buildings use to be the the Washington Mutual Bank training center (cool little factoid)... They have some nice touches like a concierge area for all rooms […] with free water, hagen daz ice cream, small chip bags, and yogurts (really nice touch)... Breakfast comes with the deal "bagels and hot cereal", Restaraunt on site is very good for dinner .. pricey though.. one of two good places to eat by Sea Tac... Stayed for three days. Room was very clean and comfortable. It's somewhat removed from local amenities, but the I-5 is only a mile or so away. Good cable selection. Nice little gym. The Cedarbrook Lodge is unique, spacious and welcoming. Attractive large guest rooms with floor to ceiling windows, cherry trees and hummingbirds outside. "I always like staying at the Cedarbrook...."
Great hotel. Quiet and the surroundings are nice. My only "buts" are the few times I've dined in the resturant were both horrible. The complimentay breakfast service is good and simple. I don't need eggs, bacon and waffles to start my day. I'm fine with a bowl of ceral, toast and a cup of coffee. The dinners are what really disappointing. The food selection […] is unappealing and the meals have always been overly salty. Plus, the price is high given the quality. My other exception is that the surrounding neighboorhood doesn't have much to offer. It's quite juxtaposed given the nice surroundings of the Cedarbrook and the otherwise somewhat seemingly sketchy areas around the hotel. Venturing out to find different places to dine, made me realize that you have to go into downtown Seattle to find nice (not chain) resturants. However the upside, is that the Cedarbrook is a very quiet hotel. Which is nice. If you are staying at the Cedarbrook for a conference or need to be close to SeaTac, this hotel is very hard to beat.
