We stayed on a Saturday night and it was the only hotel showing available rooms, probably due to it's being a bit pricy. We wanted to stay in Solvang, however, and found it's location great, within easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Nice convient hotel close to many sights in the Solvang center area. Most of the town is within a 5 minute for eating, shopping, sight seeing, and wine tasting. The city makes a good location for touring the Santa Ynez area and most of southern Central California. The breakfast buffet is nice. Room was clean and fine for our 2 night stay. Prices are high in Solvang and this is overpriced for an average motel. Room was missing a chair and a table. Rooms very comfortable due to large size and up to date furnishings. Very convenient location since it is in Solvang and walking distance to town. One of the better complimentary breakfast with real hot food and not all packaged stuff.

The hotel is is old, however the room we stayed in was very clean. When we arrived the room was stuffy but clean; I let the AC unit run while we were out and when we return the room was okay. The room was very unusual in that the bedroom was up on flight of stairs from the bathroom. Other than that quirk and it wasn't a bad one, the place is very secure and the staff is very polite. Gentleman who checked us in looked a bit scragly. He had a skeleton ring on his finger, red knuckles and hair in his eyes. Another gentleman was behind him in a suit texting on the phone.
