I enjoyed staying at Red Roof Inn and would do so again. My original room assignment had a non-working sink, but the desk quickly assigned me another room that was 100%. Everything was clean & comfortable, suitably quiet & safe. The staff was also very friendly.

It's located in what appears to be a moderately bad neighborhood, but is close to lots of restaurants and shopping and is really very aesthetically pleasing inside and out. The best feature was the huge and comfortable corner desk, and I was also happy to have a mid-size fridge and microwave. The bed was about a 4.5 on the 1-10 scale, and the linens […] were a 4ish. The issues for me were the little things - specifically:(1) Internet Service was horrible. Despite having a full 5-bar signal on the wifi, I was downloading at about 5k/sec. For those of you unfamiliar with internet speeds, this means that (when it completed at all, which was rare) web pages took roughly 30sec-1min to load. And Netflix? Dream on. (2) No breakfast, no food vending machines, no snacks in the room; (3) No conditioner, shower cap, etc. and the shampoo was in a plastic baggie (4) Towels were too small and there were only 2 of them. Overall it's a very nicely built hotel but for its price class (the range of Holiday Inn/Best Western) it simply lacks on the little things. Read more

The front desk service at the hotel was great, very helpful. The room itself was decent. Bed was comfortable and I couldn't hear any outside noises. Just a note: there's no hair dryer in the room but one can be checked out from the front desk. Also, they only give you a packet of shampoo and no conditioner.

I'm definitely not a very picky traveler, but I recognize when opportunities have gone without action... this place needs a lot of work. From the nighttime security guy who left me very uncomfortable to the pillows that seemed to be made of styrofoam to the bath towels that felt like brillo-pads, my stay was memorable for all the wrong reasons. The hotel is in good location for spring training. Other then that is an old facility with flat screen tv in the rooms. No irons/boards or hair dryer in the room but available at front desk. Double beds are small and not very comfortable. Toiletries are not that good. The hotel served its purpose for the night but I would not stay there again.

I stay in this area of Phoenix once a week and have tried multiple hotels. This was my second time staying at this hotel, and I was just as happy as my first visit. All the rooms are remodeled and have flat screen TVs and fridges and microwaves. The beds are super comfy and overall the hotel is pretty quiet. This is a nice hotel in a bad part of town. It is nice enough that you really don't realize how bad the neighborhood is. Security keeps a close watch on the parking area. The police patrol, and I felt safe the whole stay. The coffie / break area is nice. The staff were friendly. A laundry would be a nice addition.

I see why this hotel receives such strong feedback. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and everything worked. Hotel is fairly well located but there is not much surrounding the hotel which is why I rated it 4 out of 5 for surrounding neighborhood and convenience of hotel location. The bed wasn't the most comfortable that I've […] ever slept in but the sheets were clean and the pillows were good. This is why I gave it a 4 out of 5 for comfort of the room. And I gave the hotel a 3 out of 5 for condition or maintenance because the decor could use some updating or at least use someone with an eye for decor to make the most of the budget the hotel has to work with. Also, for those who need wifi the internet was great. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel for any budget travelers or anyone who wasn't a nicer 2 to 2.5 star hotel but doesn't want to pay a lot for a place to sleep the night. Service was excellent, clean, comfortable room. It was quiet even though there were lots of football fans staying there. Not a ton of choices locally to eat. Denny's, Ihop & McDonalds nearby. Real close to the 10 freeway.

I checked in late in the evening on 10/22/12. I didn't want to walk on the carpets barefoot. The towels were slightly dingy looking. I checked the sheets before going to bed and there was something (possibly a smashed bug or a big nasty booger?) on the top sheet. Called the front desk and the man that came to bring clean sheets asked if I wanted him […] to make the bed. hmmm.... ummm, yes please. He stated it had been a very long time since he had made a bed, which was evident. I helped him. As I was to be waking in a strange place I prefer to have a clock that is operating so I can know what time it is. The clock was off by several hours and I attempted to adjust the time, but was only able to change time zones and the time set was incorrect for all time zones. When I called the front desk for assistance they sent the security guard to help. He was very sweet and tried hard to fix the problem, for about twenty minutes, apologizing all the while for keeping me up. Eventually he got the clock within an hour of the correct time and we called it good. The staff was helpful and wanted to please but did not seem quite capable. I had a problem with my luggage upon leaving and the man that came to tell me it was check-out time was helpful. While leaving there was apparently a discrepancy between the front desk staff and two women guests who ended up waiting outside the front doors after yelling at the staff. We were loading my luggage as the police were pulling into the parking lot. Read more

This hotel is clean, fairly modern (or very well kept up), and comfortable. The staff are friendly, polite and extremely helpful. I stay about once a week in this general area for work, and previous to finding this hotel, I stayed at a number of similarly priced, nearby hotels. This is the absolute nicest, cleanest, most convenient hotel in this area […] - I literally felt somewhat nervous or unsafe at some of the "competitors", and I don't scare very easily. This time around we needed a inexpensive hotel and the Red Roof was chosen. Rooms are clean, but bare bone, not bad, but very inexpensive maintained materials. Linoleum floors in the bathrooms, cheap carpet, cheap mattresses, little decoration, just bare bone.
