"convenient to highway"
This is an old style motel. It was hard to find our room, it was on back side facing the highway. The room was clean and spacious. The placement of the lobby in a separate building down the hill was different and slightly inconvenient for morning coffee.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Out of the way but convenient to the highway"
The front desk staff were kind and eager to be of assistance. The room was not well vacuumed and the last occupant smoked in the room despite it being non-smoking; but the front desk had lysol sent right over. "Not too bad but not the nicest I have been to."
Most of the staff was nice. One House keeper was very rude and a front desk clerk was a lil rude, but everyone else was very nice! The rooms are kind of old the spreads and carpet show their age. The pool was not clean @ all. I had to break my son's heart when he wanted to play in the pool. I couldn't let him get in it. The great breakfast they rave […] about wasn't all that great. "Candler, NC"
I have just a few complaints about the hotel. Upon waking up on Saturday morning and getting a shower, the water was barely hot enough for a comfortable shower. I basically had to take a very cool shower. Later in the day on Saturday, when I got back to my room, I had my hands full with a couple things i purchased, along with my dinner for the night. […] I got to the door, on the third floor, and my key would not work. I saw an employee of the hotel and she tried her two master keys and neither worked. In fact, she told me how she had to keep getting her keys reset. So, I had to walked back down to my car and put the things back in it and walk to the front desk to get my key reset. I mentioned to the girl at the front desk about what the other employee said about having to have her keys reset, and the front dest person said that was not true. I said to her that she tried her keys on my door and neither one worked. Then walked back to the car, got my things and walked back up the stairs to my room. This was just a real inconvenience since I had food that was getting cold. Then when I woke on Sunday morning and was taking a shower, again there was an issue, but this time, the water would go from almost scalding hot to barely warm. It was just extrememly annoying. The wall moved. I opened the door and the wall moved. I swear. VERY loud (you could hear anyone talk three rooms away) but the worst thing was the water in the shower... it got hot, it got cold, and you couldn't predict when it would happen. It literally was hot enough to scald and cold enough to chill... The room's heater STANK of hair (probably the […] first time it had been used since last season) and mostly just cycled the fan without engaging either the cooling compressor or heating coils, the "complimentary supper" and "complimentary breakfast" were all but inedible... in short, sleeping in the car would have been preferable.
