"Not going back"

Arrived late on a weeknight and found very helpful staff who put us in a nice, clean, large room with great AC and nice appointments. The Ashmore was a nice place to stay on our through Amarillo back to Kentucky. The only problems I really had were, they really need to seperate smoking and non smoking rooms a lot better. The room was non smoking but you could tell someone was either smoking on the same floor or they had smoked in the room. It stunk. The beds were comfy, the bathroom […] was clean, but, the pool was freezing and cloudy. Very cloudy. I own a pool and mine is never this bad. Last stop on our way home from vacation, found it at last minute and got a great deal. "Nice, inexpensive, newer hotel"
This hotel reminded me of a new Holiday Inn Express, but sort of one star down. It was very clean, smelled fine, had the sheets that covered the outside of the blankets, the room was large and so on. What made it one star down is that while It looked much like a somewhat fancier hotel, the mattresses were normal springs instead of memory foam, the […] carpet wasn't as plushy, the doors were thinner, the wifi didn't work consistently and so on. Honestly, it was just made with slightly cheaper materials, I think. I would recommend it - the people were very friendly and it was very, very clean and new. When the wifi wouldn't work they had an ethernet cable to loan me (although it didn't reach to the bed), breakfast was pretty good (the breakfast room was nice and large, there were basics and Texas-shaped waffles). The hotel was clean, but that's about the only positive thing I can say about it. The TV reception in our room was horrible. I brought this to the attention of the hotel staff and they ended up giving us a different room. So we ended up having to pack everything and moving. The worst part, however, was the fact that the shower did not work, only the bath.
