The hotel is nice and has a great breakfast including eggs, bacon and sausage. The only problem that I could see is that the staff was a little relaxed about opening up the indoor pool on time, not all of the ice machines were operational and the sider door "D" would sometimes not open from the inside. "aging facility"
This elderly facility sits on the industrial side of downtown. A new Holiday Inn is being built on the west side of Amarillo and I suspect this one will be closed or sold once the new one is open. The service was quite good, and the free breakfast was hot and hearty. I am not particularly fond of the individual, in-room AC units, which work OK but it […] seems one is either cold when they are on or hot when they aren't, depending on the setting. They should not be allowed to post that they have a "fitness facility;" theirs consisted of two treadmills, an elliptical step machine and a spin machine, only one of which was working.
