Days Inn North Dallas

Hotel is mostly run down, not a lot of upkeep has been done. The "breakfast" was a joke. The staff was not friendly or curtious. On the other hand it was cheap and you get what you pay for.

The hotel did not have a working elevator, which I do not believe was relayed when I made my arrangements. The water in the shower never would get even warm so I was not able to use it. The faucet at the sink was stripped and I had to turn the handle just right to get the water to turn off. The breakfast items did not appear to be fresh, there was no fruit (which I have always had available at Days Inn) and the hot water was just barely warm enough to be considered hot. So I get there and for 5 minutes I'm watching a guy order food and didn't even acknowledge me ONCE...I got there for early check-in and they gave me a room key. I went up to the room (VIA NO ELEVATOR, by the way) and walked into someone else's room...unmade beds, personal belongings, ect...thank God there was no one necked! And then I had to run the […] entire hotel in 4-inch heels to get the guy with no sense of urgency to get me another room. While he's cussing the maids in Spanish, I'm in a hurry to get into a room. They put me in a room and it was HORRIBLE…don’t have another 30 minutes to describe. I don't advise anyone to go for it because of the price and def not the employees. The shower head in my room didn't work. The entire hotel smelled like cigarettes and onions. One night, at 3am, a group of drunk guys tried to come in my room. After trying their key unsuccessfully for 3 minutes, they continued their extremely loud conversation in front of my door for the next 20 minutes. Cleaniness was what I expected for a 2 star hotel. Furnishings are old but all still in working condition. The quality in service was also what I expected of a 2 star hotel. The front desk person was not helpful when I called to get specific directions just 4 blocks away. He just didn't know the area. But thank goodness for phone navagation. This isn't a nice motel. I would definitely not stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone. The room was visibly clean and comfortable enough, but the positives end there. The ice machine wasn't working. The carpets were filthy. There was no milk for breakfast. The refrigerator wasn't working. There was an ironing board but no iron. One piece of furniture was broken. We were given the wrong room key upon check-in and walked in on people who were already in that room. The owner was very apologetic, which helped.

Upon arriving in my original room, I noted that the door connecting to the adjacent room on the left was missing/ removed. To me, that means the occupant in that room can have access to mine. When I contacted the front office about this, the answer was that the access door in the room in question is blocked from the other side (which I obviously could […] not see). After about 10 minutes of battling them to change my room they finally did. The next morning, I discovered the telephone in this new room was disconnected. I informed the front desk on the morning of 02/03/12 but they did not fix/connect it. I informed them again on 02/04/12 but they never did even though they said the will. I finally had to search in the room to locate the phone jack and connected it before I checked out the morning of 02/05/12, just to avoid a scenario where an elderly person who happens to stay in the room and needs help in an emergency but cannot get because the phone is not working. Not recommended. Hallway carpets look old, stained and dirty. The first room that I was checked in to had a bad A/C, had to be moved to another room. The TV's are old and their pictures lightly dark. Their breakfast selection was very limited.

Stayed here because it was really cheap and we just needed a bed for a night. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, but the place was pretty run-down. Dead roach in the corner...found two small dead bugs under the sheets when I checked for bed bugs (but they weren't bed bugs). A bit of filth on the shower floor. Not sure how the hotel got the Day's Inn Franchise. Its not even close to the previous Day's Inn i have stayed. Hair Dryer was Broke, the entire hotel smelled like cigarette room. Shower only worked with half the pressure. had to literally stand right under it to bathe, Took me 20 minutes every time. To my surprise the room din't had a fridge or a microwave. […] had to call the front desk for them. The front desk personnel were really nice though. they bought the requested stuff immediately, to my room. The area is very shady. you only have entrance to 635 West, To take 635 East you will need to go a mile in local.
