"unclean room"
This was my second time staying here. No where close to the first time. I gave real good ratings on my first visit. The bed looked as the blankets were just thrown over a already slept in bed. The batroom sink and toilet wasn't clean . We did get another room, which was far nicer,but didn't expect incovenince. "Not bad but breakfast was a disaster"
Just stopped for a night on a long trip. Room was fine, nothing special but satisfactory. Ceiling was squeaky; I recommend a 2nd floor room. Breakfast could have been good but the waffle maker was broken, the microwave wasn't working, and they only had a couple of sad pieces of bread and plain bagels left. We have stayed here whenever we go boating in Blythe. The hotel itself is well built but the owners are not maintaining it. The staff was lazy and didn't care. "Good Hotel, poor customer servicea"
The hotel was close to the freeway and very easy to find. I arrived and was check right in without any waiting. The woman at the check in counter was obviously having a horribly day and was very rude. This was the only downside to my stay at this hotel. The hotel has plenty of parking and the parking lot was well lit and right in front of our room. Room was very clean and comfortable. No amenaties other than TV. We had to go to the desk and ask for an ice bucket. paper cups only. Constant battle with the keys. They would not work more than once in the lock. Lots of exercise up and down stairs and walking to the office to get another key. "California Inn - Disappointing"
Looked like a great place to stay based on other reviews but our experience was different. The mattress springs were nearly poking through and the comforter had a nasty tan stain in the middle. "A bit disappointed."
In the first place, we had trouble finding the hotel because the makeshift sign placed over the old sign had fallen off. I actually had to stop at another hotel and ask where it was. Turns out we were right next door and didn't know it. When I mentioned this to the gal at the reception desk she said, "yeah, we're working on the sign". As I tried to […] check in, she had trouble communicating to me whether I had prepaid or not. She kept saying, "You paid Expedia, but not us." And I kept saying, "Yes, but Expedia paid you, right?" After that exchange several tiimes, I just had to let it go. She would not say that we had paid the hotel. Weird. After checking in, we discovered that our room was up two flights of outside stairs to the second floor and around the back of the building. No elevator. We had to make several trips in very hot weather to get all of our luggage upstairs. The room was fine. No luxuries, but clean and adequate. When I went to use the lobby computer, it wouldn't connect to the internet, though I tried for 20 mins. The receptionist said she would talk to her manager. He came later to fix it and other people used it. When I asked what machines were in the fitness room, the desk gal did not know. "I've never been in there". When I did use the treadmill, the air conditioning was not working and I was running in 87 degrees in there. HOT! We did get a good night's sleep.
