"Really like the quiet neighborhoos"
We stay here frequently when we have work in Memphis. It's a bare bones kind of place. It doesn't even have a comfortable chair or a lamp you can reposition in the room. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous. However, the inside of the hotel had some sort of distinct smell. Very disappointing stay. Long wait time to even get checked in, had to call out loudly to find the clerk, come to find out she was doing laundry in ther back room. one of the worst stays i have had in 12 years of working out of town. got to the hotel around 10:30 pm . after driving all day . pulled the covers back and there was dog hair all in the bed and on the pillows. wads of hair. after i changed the bedding , i walked over to the window and stepped in water that had been pouring from the ac . that explained […] the room being musty smelling. i switched rooms the next morning . the bed was uncomfortable in both rooms.carpets had undescribable stains. people had huge dogs in the hotel which i didnt knoiw was a pet friendly hotel until i found the hair. the only reason i even stayed is because i paid for 5 nights up front with expedia. that wont ever happen again. i could have stayed at sleep inn for the same price. never again. I was very dissatisfied with my stay...I had to change rooms 3 times in a 4 day stay. The toilets would not flush in the first room...in the second room the air conditioner leaked water all over the floor and on my suitcase. "Hotel on Poplar Avenue"
This hotel was clean, and the room smelled so fresh when you walked in. The air was on when I walked which was great because the rooms are usually stifling.
