"Not worth the savings."
This is good hotel, with very close metro access. However, not ideal for a family trip. The area is a bit sketchy after dark, as others have pointed out. The indoor pool is very small, very warm, and not as clean as I would have liked. The cable TV options are limited and there is no ability to rent movies from the room. "Nice facilities, close to underground transport"
NIce hotel. Easy walk to metro station to go anywhere in DC. Eateries around the hotel are pretty quiet on the weekends, many are closed. The hotel restaurant has decent variety. We used the laundry facilities, which was a nice travel tool for us. "Great hotel for a great price"
My son and I were on vacation and wanted a decent hotel for a low price which was close to either public transportation or the actual national mall. This hotel is literally six store fronts away from the metro red line which in turn is less than ten minutes from the national mall and all it's attractions. And the deal on the nightly stay was competative […] with nieghborhoods much further away. The neighborhood is industrial and somewhat sparse but you can still get a decent meal and 24 hour snacks and food due to the 7-11 right next to the hotel. There are also several restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. I don't recommend the food at the hotel. It's expensive, prepackaged and microwaved. I feel as though the waiter/bartender/cashier was also the /chef. And there is no room service. Our room was clean but a bit cramped when the sofa bed was pulled out. But being from NYC that was definitely not a problem for us. The bottom line is the location and the price could not be beaten. The food however is not worth the effort. "Great Price and Convenient Location"
The price was great for the location and convenience provided. You can't beat walking out the front door of the hotel and going little over 100 feet to the metro(which is one stop from union station). Also there is a 7/11 in the building and a Five Guys Burgers across the street. The only thing that was a problem was that the hotel is still realatively […] new and Cab drivers don't know how to get there, so be sure to look up the cross streets before you go or on your smart phone to let them know where the hotel is. Hotel itself was great - clean, comfortable, fitness equipment was in good condition, etc. Staff was very friendly and available. Location was also fantastic - steps off of the NY Ave stop on the red line made it incredibly convenient. "nice hotel but not great location"
I stayed in the Courtyard by Marriott, U.S. Capitol in early April and found this to be a really nice, clean and updated hotel. Staff were more than helpful and pleasant. It was great being right next to a metro stop however my room overlooked the metro tracks plus the train tracks and was quite noisy. My other complaint would be food. While the bistro […] was fine, staying 3 nights and having only 1 place to eat was disappointing. There is nothing but fastfood nearby (which I do not eat) and I think the bistro could be a great spot if they added some more items to their menu. Also, I mapquested the address plus used gps and drove around for 30 minutes trying to find it. When I called the hotel they told me to use a different address???? To locate this hotel you need to use the Florida Avenue address. The Hotel name is a bit misleading because it is not close to the Capital at all. However, it is still very convenient as it sits next to the subway station. "Perfect Hotel - Neighborhood nice in the daytime"
The hotel and the service was fantastic, the metro stop is literally at the foot of the hotel and five guys is across the street with au bo pain next to the metro. The surrounding area is mostly new but empty with the economy. It should improve but right now there is nothing nearby. "Courtyard Mariott DC Capital - Oct 16-18 2010"
This hotel met our primary need, which was to be close to the Amtrak station, be comfortable, clean, and within walking distance to attractions. It was extremely convenient to the Metro Rail station which we utilized quite a bit. It would have been nice to have more dining choices nearby, but the Burger King was in short walking distance to the hotel […] and great for quick breakfasts. However I would recommend that the hotel at least include complimentary continental breakfasts for those a little more inclined to eat healthy and those really on-the-go. This would help justify the cost of the room, which I thought was a little pricey for what we got. It is a 3-star though. Also, unless the hotel is filling up, they should place customers in rooms with better views -- ours was a view of the train tracks. We didn't think to ask about this, but we weren't in the room much. And for late checkout, we only were allowed 1 hour, which didn't help. I would say a 2 hour late checkout would be worth the effort to accommodate. They did check out bags, holding them until we were ready to catch our train. I thought the hotel was clean and well kept, but thought they could have done more such as a continental breakfast, in room movies, a hot tub, maybe heating the pool. I took a walk outside looking for a nice restaurant after a long drive and did not feel that I was in a particularly safe neighborhood. Courtyard by Marriott U S Captiol room was wonderful and very comfortable. The location is hard to find due to traffic pattern. Once in a lane there is no geting over to turn onto access street. Had to make 2 pass by to get in correct lane. No sign for parking even though its valet parking. If arriving for check-in after 5pm there are 2 options for […] food wihtout leaving the area. 4 if you count Wendys and McD's. Other restaurants and cafes close at 5pm. "Courtyard by Marriott: tolle Lage, toller Service"
Das Hotel Courtyard by Marriott ist sehr gepflegt und sauber mit sehr gemütlich und modern ausgestatteten Zimmern. Der Service ist super: das Auto wird in die Tiefgarage gefahren und die Koffer werden in das Zimmer gebracht. Das Hotel liegt direkt an der Metrostation. Die Zimmer nach hinten (nur mit je 1 Kingsizebett) sind ruhig. Die Zimmer mit zwei […] Queenbetten liegen alle zur Bahnstation. Im 8. Stock war allerdings nicht viel von den einfahrenden Zügen zu hören. Der Vorteil: Binnen 5 Minuten ist man mit der Metro in der City. Im Hotel kann man im Bistro auch frühstücken.
