Thought it was a great deal. Good prices for this hotel... only a 10 min drive from echo stageGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I had a great stay here. The only thing that bothered me was the parking. I had to pay for valet and that is not cool. Why can't Marriott have a parking garage? I do have to say this, the valet guys were good guys and they were very helpful in getting our car to us in a timely manner. Another thing that was very bothersome was the construction because […] it was not a straight shot to the hotel. The hotel was very clean and the customer service was awesome. "Great location for either walking or metro"
Great hotel. Couldn't have been more pleased with the location or condition of the hotel. Easy access via car without having to drive through central DC traffic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Metro Good, location not so much."
This new hotel is clean and functional. Having the Metro practically in the lobby is a feature that is useful if you are a subway denizen like me. The location of the hotel is newly gentrified. You will not this by all the new building surrounding it and as such these establishments have limited history and track record. Also, just a few blocks in any […] direction but South you will find what remains of some very rough neighborhoods, including an honest to goodness Projects complete with rats, and corner boys. Assume by the mass of cranes and pits that even this little slice of American history will be white washed and wiped off of the grid. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Bathroom was SUPER clean! Beds were extremely comfortable! Right next to the metro. We had a small problem getting them to recognize our included breakfast, but Hotels.com fixed it quickly. I would stay in this hotel again and recommend it to other people.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Metro, comfy beds, funny smell"
Stayed here with my spouse and son for three nights. Great location for Metro access, but there aren't many good restaurants in the immediate area. The room smelled a little musty, probably due to the AC. That said, I would probably stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

the front desk staff was not particularly friendly; the valet and concierge staff were friendly and helpful, however; hotel is conveniently located quite close to the NoMa metroGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Place But Some Whacky Requirement"
I checked in at 9:45 pm. The hotel staff and the hotel itself were top notch. BUT, having to sign a document that fines one up to $500 for making noise was bizarre and offputting, to say the least. And when the clerk at the check-in desk could not tell me why the procedure was in place I thought to myself "boy, this promises to be some stay". However, […] all was fine! "Easy access for Red Line"
I spent a week at this hotel during June 2013, 3 days on business and 4 with my son on a grand tour of DC. The staff was friendly, the rooms were nice. I only had a couple complaints one was actually the reason I had chosen it...it's close to the metro. The problem was my window overlooked the rail lines coming into Union Station. Consequently even […] with very good sound insulation, you still hear the trains at night. The other issue was that I had been told that breakfast was included but Marriott decided that they would no longer include it at Courtyard. You will find that the hotel is strange in that the lobby is on the second floor. The first floor has a guard. There is a 7-11 next door, 5 Guys burgers across the street and an Indian place connected to the hotel. I must say that the beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean every day. I would recommend it again if I could get a room on the other side of the hotel away from the rails. I tend to be a light sleeper so that was a bit annoying. Otherwise, it's a great spot for a vacation hotel if you want to do DC. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Courtyard in a brand-new neighborhood"
The Courtyard is a fairly new building, no older than five years, I'd say. The reason for that is the neighborhood it's in. For those of you familiar with Washington DC who haven't been back behind Union Station in a while, take another look. This was a truly scary part of town (and I'm from The Bronx). Just five years ago the Greyhound Station was […] located in this part of town. And is often the case, where the bus station lies, so does crime, drugs, panhandling and prostitution. I haven't been over there since dropping a friend at the bus station--and then waiting with her until she was safely on the bus--some six years ago. But since then, Washington DC officials have engineered a brand new neighborhood consisting of highrise apartments, tech companies and (under construction) NPRs new headquarters. Anchored at one end by Union Station and at the other by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms' new headquarters, the neighborhood is clean and safe. The only downside is since it is so new, the variety of restaurants is lacking, although if I'd have counted, I'd say there were close to a dozen, including the ubiquitous Starbucks. The hotel itself was very nice. Clean and neat with large rooms. The staff was VERY friendly. And, the price was good. Take this from someone who generally spends between 75 and 100 nights away from home each year. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient spot in DC"
We stayed here for 2 nights - the hotel is 1 stop from Union Station and a 10 - 15 minute walk to H street and all of the wonderful restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. Some people complained that the area was rough - it's urban, if you don't like the diversity off the city you should stay in the burbs. My family loved it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient for metro use"
Hotel 1 station away from Union station and itself not even 1 block from the train station. Only thing was this train station does not open until 7 on weekends and if you have a conference session starting at that time, you might want to book a cab or you will miss it. Otherwise, a perfect price and location. Friendly staff. Would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, great hotel."
Great check in/check out experience. Staff was very friendly, esp the Sat night bartender! Very helpful in giving dinner recommendations- he rocked. Loved everything about this hotel, the only downside was that because it's downtown the outside noise when you are trying to sleep is very disruptive. Other than that I give it a 5....Genuine Expedia guest review

I loved the Hotel but the location is a bit rough. I did not like paying $33/day to park.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Weekend in the City."
Was looking to get away for the weekend and had never even to DC. The hotel is perfectly positioned for anyone using public transportation, as it's positioned right off of the "Red Line" of the Metro. The bar downstairs was nice, but grossly overpriced! As long as you don't need to park anywhere, you will be fine. This was a quality hotel. Clean room, friendly staff, can be a good deal because it is not surrounded by the best area but is right near the metro and easy to get a cab.Genuine Expedia guest review
We thought the service provided by the personnel at the hotel was outstanding. All were very courteous, friendly and helpful. In fact they went out of the way to be sure that information requested was provided and helpful. We were very pleased by all. As for the room it was clean and the amenities more than adequate. "Good accommodation, convenient to Metro"
In general good reasonably priced accommodation in DC. Hotel extremely convenient to NOMA/Gallaudet metro (Red line), although construction makes it less than visually obvious how one should exit. Hotel staff friendly and efficient. Convenience store and sandwich shop/deli places in immediate vicinlty, though real restaurants a metro stop or two away. […] Small wrinkle, I and several other guests when checking in were explicitly invited to "happy hour" which was NOT complimentary. Booked a king room but they only had 2 queens, which wasn't a big deal breaker and was about the only minus I had about the stay. Didn't eat at the cafe, but it looked pretty modern and clean. "Very difficult to find entrance"
While the location of the hotel was not difficult to locate, it was difficult to find the entrance. The entrance is on what looks like a side street; you do not try to enter in the parking garage (valet only, $33/night). However to get to the side street, you can only enter from one direction. "business hotel with subway connection"
the room was spacious, clean, with easy internet access and a large bathroom. The Gym was well enough equipped and clean. However, the "pool" turned out to be a foot bath (only 3 feet deep), and the "clientele" surprisingly mixed: I got asked for money at the Starbucks stand where I ordered my breakfast. the staff seems not to be up to speed: several […] times the front desk did not answer the phone, and I had to wait for my stored luggage for a long time. the comfort of the room though made up for that, so I would recommend this hotel. Response by Courtyard Washington, DC/U.S. Capitol Thank you for the comment. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed our spacious rooms and fitness center as well as took advantage of our complimentary high speed internet. I sincerely apologize for the experience you had in Starbucks. The security team continues to improve upon strategies to ensure our guests are not bothered by unwelcomed individuals throughout the hotel. The close proximity to the metro continues to make our hotel ideal for the business traveler with only being one stop from Union Station and an easy metro ride to Regan/DCA airport.
"Good, not Great"

"Very nice hotel"
This is a very nice hotel. I had to stay here because of the power outages across the DMV area. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone. The only downfall is the parking. There is no self parking only valet, and it's $33 a night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice Hotel close to the train station"
This was a nice hotel that was close to Union station and the price of the room was a good rate. The neighborhood left something to be desired and we were a little afraid to venture out for dinner so we stayed in and ate in the hotel restaurant. "Pleasant stay at the end of May"
We checked in Wed. evening, finding people at 1st floor entry and 2nd floor front desk very friendly and welcoming. Front desk gave us a great restaurant recomendation for dinner - Clydes.Thurs. morning, we arrived at hotel Bistro, just before 10 and were told breakfast was no longer being served. Again we asked for restaurant recommendation from front […] desk, as an alternative to Au Boin Pain next to hotel. Constitution Cafe was suggested. We were very disappointed to find buffet style restaurant with tasteless, dried out food. We enjoyed wine at Bistro bar during our stay and purchased snack/beverages from hotel store for reasonable prices. Kiosk for flight check-ins and printing boarding passes is a welcome amenity. 1st floor staff was very accomodating in storing our luggage for us on check out Sat. morning. That afternoon, someone was right there to retrieve our luggage and call a cab when we were ready to head to the airport. Hotel is conveniently next to New York Ave. Metro station on Red Line. Being located next to train tracks and one Metro stop away from Union Station, there is frequent train activity and occasional whistle blowing into evening hours. Room air conditioner was noisy, providing some white noise and sometimes disguised train noise. We heard other typical city traffic noise and sirens. Some electrical outlets did not work. Mirrors are only in bathroom, with poor lighting for makeup application. Bed was comfortable, room was clean. Hotel feels safe. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Really like the Metro availability right next to the hotel. The view from the room was rather blah. The rooms are very nice although a very small. "Perfect sightseers location! Great staff / service"
At first I was worried about the location. It is indeed in an area of town with a past reputation of not being the best place to be. After staying for six days straight- I can sincerely say that this hotels location should not be a concern for anyone for any reason. The location is right next to the New York Avenue / Florida Street metro rail stop and […] only one stop from Union Station which is a serious hub of activity! Easy to get to, easy to find, OUTSTANDING staff. Emmanuel in the bar/Restaraunt is magnificent, Codgo as well. Chaz (?) at the front desk was very helpful with the one small issue we had with the fold out sofa bed and Shelly the manager is spoke with...all should be commended for their service commitment and friendliness. There is a 7/11 right next door, a burger place and pita place right across the street and while I did not venture from The hotel at night, it was not for any reason other than the fact that I wa exhausted from walking. "The Marriott Courtyard US Capitol Washington DC"
Hotel is very clean, rooms nice size. Shower was really large! Food at restaurant wasn't bad - healthy options available like chinese chicken salad and oatmeal. Main complaint would be that the towels in the bathroom for the shower were small, and they were not luxurious at all. Felt more like drying off with paper towels. Area is definitely transitional, […] but seemed safe. There's a metro station right next door, and an Au Bon Pain, Five Guys and a few other quick dining spots across the street. I enjoyed my stay at the courtyard marriot in DC, and the hotel part was great and actually very nice. "Fantastic hotel in a not-so-fantastic neighborhood"
Really liked the hotel. Staff was excellent. Neighborhood is just a tad bit sketchy. Security or police are everywhere - in the 7-11, Five Guys, on the street and in the hotel. We were sighseeing in DC for a couple of days and were planning on just sleeping comfortably at the hotel, and the hotel performed this task very well. "Great hotel for a great price"
My son and I were on vacation and wanted a decent hotel for a low price which was close to either public transportation or the actual national mall. This hotel is literally six store fronts away from the metro red line which in turn is less than ten minutes from the national mall and all it's attractions. And the deal on the nightly stay was competative […] with nieghborhoods much further away. The neighborhood is industrial and somewhat sparse but you can still get a decent meal and 24 hour snacks and food due to the 7-11 right next to the hotel. There are also several restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. I don't recommend the food at the hotel. It's expensive, prepackaged and microwaved. I feel as though the waiter/bartender/cashier was also the /chef. And there is no room service. Our room was clean but a bit cramped when the sofa bed was pulled out. But being from NYC that was definitely not a problem for us. The bottom line is the location and the price could not be beaten. The food however is not worth the effort.
