We have included all charges provided to us by this hotel. However, charges can vary, for example, based on length of stay or the room you book.
Downtown DC is awash with culture. The Smithsonian Institution museum complex flanks the National Mall. The Washington Monument bisects the Mall, just south of the White House. Federal agency headquarters house bureaucrats of varying stripes. Moneyed and powerful lobbyists help create (and quash) laws from K Street. Chinatown and the Washington Convention Center lie east of downtown.

A really think it is a clean comfortable hotel. It is close to all major DC points of interest. Reasonable price for the DC market. I would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Has Potential"
We went on Spring Break with our 2 kids and wanted a separate bedroom. The layout of the room is great with a separate bedroom, nice bathroom, full kitchen and ample sized living room. The area is a little suspect in that all the buildings surrounding the hotel are condemned, which seems to contribute to mouse problem, and there is a Marriott being […] built across street (noise from 5am to 8 pm). The noise was an issue especially since they decided to wax the floors of the hotel at 2:30 am- they stopped after we complained. The pullout couch had dirty sheets and mouse droppings in it when we arrived and the pull out couch is very lumpy. The bedroom was comfortable and they had direct tv. There was a horrible smell on the third floor. Appears to be a low budget hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Satisfactory Stay"
The hotel was very clean. My 2 kids slept in the queen bed, while I slept in the sofa bed. The sofa bed was in poor condition with some of the coils missing, but the remainder of the unit was comfortable. The neigborhood is in the midst of an overhaul. It will be very nice a year from now, but is undergoing (fairly loud) construction now. The cost was […] extremely reasonable, and the location is great - a 1/2 mile from the Verizon Center and about a mile from the monuments. Would stay again because of price. I have to say I was apprehensive driving up to the hotel due to vacant buildings next door & construction..but as we walked around we learned that area will be renovated. We found it pretty centrally located and walked every where from the hotel. We enjoyed our stay at the ELDON SUITES.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Eldon Suites is a good choice"
We stayed at the Eldon Suites because it's very convenient to where our son lives. The room was very nice with a sitting area, small kitchen and bedroom. The room was clean when we arrived and we enjoyed our stay there. However, we pulled out the pullout couch in the sitting area to a bed for our older son to sleep, and it was miserably uncomfortable […] for him. The mattress is very soft and he could feel the springs underneath poking through the mattress. The mattress also sagged in the middle and on the ends, and he didn't get more than 1 hour sleep the entire evening. They should upgrade their sleeper couches since it is a suite hotel and it is designed to have extra guests sleep on the sleeper couch. We also were not pleased with housekeeping. We had 1 bar of soap to share between the shower, sink and kitchen. Also, in the morning we made a pot of coffee and housekeeping did not replenish the coffee for the following morning. We had to request extra coffee from the front desk. Overall, I would say it is a very nice hotel and I would be happy to give it 5 stars if they replaced the sleeper couch and improved their housekeeping servings. "Lovely Place to Stay"
This was a very clean and comfortable hotel suite. Lots of marble and granite everywhere. Everything seemed new, Ikea dinner plates, etc. I loved staying here and that it was so close to the Convention Center. It reminded me of some European hotels, but much roomier.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and Close to Downtown"
I would recommend this hotel. Nice to have full kitchen with a family. Clean nice simple decor with a quite comfortable bed. Not a lot of other extras with this hotel, no restaurant etc. The parking was $30 plus tax per night in an outside lot, two doors west (had to leave car keys with desk). Overall a lot less expensive than other downtown hotels. […] A 15 to 20 min walk to the downtown sights. Neighbourhood was fine but not many restaurants very close. Best restaurants we found were in the Chinatown/Verizon Center area (~10 mins). There is a pharmacy (CVS) around the corner where you can pick up a very limited selection of groceries (i.e. milk). If not for the Mariott construction across the street that woke you at ~7 am I would give it a 5 rating for the price I paid. It also looks like many of the buildings around the hotel are also due for construction as they are boarded up. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, but cheap faux luxury"
Great location, but really cheap room fixtures. The Sofa Bed is a joke -- as old and uncomfortable as the one you remember from gramma's house. Even putting two small kids on it was out of the question. They slept on the mattress from the couch, covered with a foam pad the staff provides to take care of the sofa bed issue (They said they get constant […] complaints, but the owners will not address it!). Oh, and WiFi? It's a joke, impossible to use, and if we weren't able to hop onto a nearby unsecured signal from a nearby building, we would have left. Great location though! "Great place"
Wonderful place for our family. The kitchen came in handy with young children who always wanted to eat. Sofa bed mattress was not great. We had a pad on top of it, and placed it on the floor. It was workable for the kids that way. There is construction across the street, but we were not bothered by this. Our kids were up with the sun, and construction […] started after they awoke. We booked the hotel with a half off special and a promo code! We loved getting such a good deal for an awesome place! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Luxury???"
This is a nice hotel, but there were a few problems. There's A LOT of construction going on and the other buildings on the block were abandoned with boarded up windows. It's a block away from the Convention Center and within walking distance to restaurants, POI and the metro, but that is if you don't mind walking 2 blocks past abandoned buildings/construction. […] For the most part, the front desk staff was helpful and friendly, although the first night there was no bedding so we had to go down to get it, and he didn't know where it was so we ended up with 3 duvets covers. My biggest issue with them was after checking out, I called to say we had left some jewelry in the room and had to call back 4 times before insisting that I stay on hold while they checked. They did find it and said they were sending it to me, but I haven't gotten it yet a week later. The rooms were okay, nothing too great, and nothing too terrible. The main bedroom had a nice bed, but the pull out couch was very uncomfortable. The room and hotel were clean, except they didn't clean the room one day. Parking was in a lot next to the hotel which is locked at night. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast. So, I can't really figure out where they can call themselves "Luxury Suites". I don't know that we would stay here again but mainly because for the price, we could find a much nicer place to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"diamond in the rough"
This is fantastic hotel with very high standards but the location is not great. There are abandoned buildings, busted sidewalks, and homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk. There is also a construction site right out front, but we did not hear it inside. I don't suggest walking the neighborhood. Instead, walk one block to the Mt. Vernon Metro station […] and head to the wonderful touristy things downtown. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel itself is pretty nice.. It's a suite so as far as the price went you can't go wrong... no TV in bedroom... Maint was leaking to say the least Mis matched painting poor patch jobs.. This really is a wonderful little hotel. the rooms were great. the staff alway willing to help. Only drawback is the location. It's close enough to Downtown but it there is literally nothing else on the block. Once the rest of the area is built up it should be great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Hotel, Decent Location, A couple quirks"
My father and I used this hotel for our first time DC vacation. We are not use to "luxury" hotels by any means, so we are def not picky people. Ill go with the few negative aspects of the hotel first, bc there arent many. FIRST, the breakfast. Wow! Umm.. so it consisted of the regular continental breakfasts at any regular hotel... Bagels/pastries/juice/cereal.. […] etc. Nothing hot. AND they wanted us to pay for it! Wow. This is luxury... ?? Ok. No biggie. There was a great place half a mile away called Lincolns Waffle House. Great prices. SECOND, I read the reviews about the hidabed being horrible, so i packed my airmattress. Thank goodness i did. The hidabed was a very thin spring mattress.. with bars that you can feel. It was terrible. So make sure to pack an airmattress if you plan on using the hidabed. THIRD, Okay, so there is only 1 tv. In the living room. I read about this as well and I had my laptop for the bedroom. So no biggie. However, they used velcro to hook the directv box to the back of the tv. So in order to use to remote, you have to get up and turn the channel bc the remote can not send a signal to the box with it being on the back of the tv. We took it off, used a bar stool, a pillow, and a folder to prop it up so we could change the channel. FOURTH, there is no wireless internet. If you have a laptop or something that takes ethernet cord, they do provide a 20 ft eternet cord (no joke, it went from the kitchen to the bedroom with no problems lol). Lastly, and very minor might i add, FIFTH, they provide extremely expensive snacks. I wondered if anyone ever bought any of it, and all the snacks were expired. LOL. Not that i would have bought any of it, but i wondered if anyone ever did. Apparently not... bc it was all expired by months. Onto the postives. The location was pretty central. The metro is about half a mile away as well as the trolly tours and ford theatre. Capitol hill, white house, washington monument is about a mile away. And lincoln memor Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a Winner"
Our room faced a construction site which was loud from 6am-8pm every day including Saturday. We asked to move on the first day but nothing happened. The wireless internet access never worked, the kitchen sink leaked, and the pull-out sofa was very uncomfortable. ALL the floors in the hotel are marble so the sound of footsteps and people coming and going […] was everpresent. While the hotel looks lovely and the rooms appear nice (and they are) -- there are way too many annoyances to make our stay pleasant. It's as if management in MIA. Or doesn't care. The hotel was pretty good. I will definitely stay there again when in DC. The suites are perfect when you are traveling with kids. They have great prices but here is what you don't get: 1. concierge help 2. There is only 1 TV in the living room - none in the bedroom. Fine for me but if you have a family... 3.no room service. "Lots if construction next door!"
The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable, but the sofa bed mattress was dipping badly and my son's feet fell through the bottom!. The A/C system is the loudest I have EVER heard in my life. It was nice and cool but cycles on and off all night making for a bad nights sleep. If you DO manage to get some sleep, don't plan on sleeping past 7:00 am as […] there is MAJOR deconstruction and construction going on all around the hotel, and it does not end until after 9:00 pm. Although the hotel is beautiful and very clean, close to a metro stop, and one block to the convention center, every building surrounding it is boarded up waiting for construction. Better to stay off 7th St, where there are lots of restaurants and on a metro stop. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Eldon was a great stay for the price!"
Thanks to hotels.com we had a great stay in Washington DC. We were close enough that my 5 yr old was able to walk to the Mall and not be completely tired out till we got there. The breakfast area was more set up for couples or adults. The tall stools were difficult for both of my children and the area is small, but the food was good. The full kitchen […] was great, since we were traveling with a cooler in the car and were able to unload and keep things cold. I don't know that I woud recommend the fold out bed to adults, but the kids were just fine with it. Thanks it made the stay in DC enjoyable! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Eldon DC - within walking distance of sites"
We are a family of four and decided to take our first trip to see DC. The cab driver had a bit of a hard time finding the hotel with one ways and construction. The lobby service was great! We checked in very late due to a late train and left really early in the morning. The desk clerks made arrangements with the cab services and gave us information […] on food delivery even for 11 at night. The room was very clean and modern. The floors are bare so bring your slippers or you may buy theirs. The pull out couch was uncomfortable but for two small children it was worth not having to stay in two rooms. The shower was nice and very relaxing after walking around all day. The construction is all around the hotel but for the price and location it is definally not as noticeable. The view is nothing to look at and sometimes you can hear a yappy dog from the building next door. The breakfast area was snug and you do have to wait for a table if you arrive any time between 7-8:30am . All in all we had a very nice stay and we had a great DC experience and will visit again. "Great price & walkable to Mall & Union Station"
Only problem is that if you are booking a room for four, 2 kids/people need to seep on a fold out couch with a very poor mattress. Sleeping on springs is how my son described it so you may want to get an extra coforter to put under the fitted sheet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value for the location and what you get"
We needed reasonably priced option for sharing space with our 14-year-old son for a 5-day stay in D.C. The cost of a suite was less than it would have cost to get adjoining rooms, and we were able to save money using the kitchen rather than having to eat out every meal. CVS right around the corner saved us a ton in bottled water as well. Everything […] was great-- staff was very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was fine for the start of the day. We were 2 blocks from the metro, & agree with other reviewers-- the neighborhood looks shady at first, but we had no problems whatsoever & felt very safe. Our room did not have a whirlpool tub, as indicated on the website, so if you want one, be sure to ask for it when you make reservations. We would definitely stay here again. "Definite luxury"
The Eldon Luxury Suites were the best place we stayed on our whole trip, even exceeding the decadence of Vegas. It was beyond our expectations and actually over the top for what we required (3 nights in DC sightseeing). The basic suite was huge. We could have lived there! I only wish they had some self-service laundry facilities in the room or hotel. […] By the time we got home for the day all the laundries in the area were closed and we had to wash by hand. I also felt the charges for some of their services were excessive, such as receiving or posting mail, but we didn't use these services. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Everything was excellent apart from a couple of things Construction was going on even at night in the neighbourhood.
