"Pretty bad experience"
We had been stayed the hotel for two nights. It took us almost 45 minutes to check in our room due to room condition, not only heavy smoking smell at the non-smoking room but also big room-lock problem, so that it was requested to change the other room. In the following day, the room hadn't been cleaned at all unti 23:00 midnight whenl we finished […] our whole day activities and was back to the hotel ! It has been a ??? stay since more than 20 years travelling. By the way, the duty manager of the hotel is quite nice to promise to solve the problem when we checked out. Now we are waiting its result. "Worst experience EVER."
I was seriously disappointed with this hotel. For the price I paid I didn't even get half of what I expected. Getting there was ridiculously stupid, parking was out the roof expensive for ONE night, and the front desk staff was flat out rude. For the price I paid for that room I got a tinier room than what I get at a Days Inn for more than half the […] price and my view was of the AC system. To try and get you to understand the size of this room, I could put my back to the end of the bed and touch the wall with my feet. The bed was REALLY firm and maybe stood two feet tall. The sink in the bathroom was clogged, and the floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. To watch TV, you had to pay for ANYTHING you wanted to watch and there is no wifi so there goes any sort of entertainment. When I was getting ready to leave, the valet told me to call down 15 minutes prior to checking out, and so when I was getting ready to leave my room I called three separate times to the extension they gave me with no answer, then called the front desk and got hung up on, and when I went down to the valet office myself the workers were just sitting in there lounging. I was never asked about if I enjoyed my stay or any sort of customer service questions that should have been asked. I felt like I was just a bill and not a paying customer. If you have money that you can just throw away without thinking about it, sure, go to this hotel, but if you're looking for an enjoyable time at a hotel that makes you feel welcome I'd suggest any other hotel. "one night stay at donavan hotel"
when we 1st pulled up to the hotel i never thought that it was the actual hotel due to fact that there was so many differen types of people hanging out in front driving from a distant i thought is was a subway or bus stop.. when we realized that it was the actuall hotel i pulled into the parking lot on side...we where actually afraid to walk in.. there […] were drunk hodlum looking characters we had to walk through to get in... once in the hotel i saw a girl drying her hair with a towel as she was bend over which i thought was weird and another girl at the front arguing with the hotel clerck why he will not let her upstairs and he explained that they are rining the room and no answer and that she could not go up..the girl was loud and was dressed inaporpriate and no shoes on...she finaly got her man friend on the phone and put the clerck on the phone and he told her to go up ... it was my turn to get my room when one of the people hanging in the front of the hotel proceeded to come next to me at the counter and made me very unconfortable to be while i was handing the clerck my card and ID.. he stood next to me till I was done... i took my keys and headed towards the elevator where there was a goup of 10 people whom where already intoxicated and insisted that my sister and i get on the elevator with them we declined they finaly went up and the next elevator that opened where there was a girl so drunk could not hold herself up (did not look like she was older than 20) gagging being held by her friend and a man who was with them laughing and loud! we got on the elevator got into our room locked the door. We got into our room around 2:30 am we where tiered of our long trip getting to DC.... after we got in the room we heard all kinds of noises in the hallways people talking running ... I was honestley so tiered that I could not even pick up the phone... we had to be at a meeting at 8 am so we left the hotel at 7:30 ... not a good experience at all! "Donovan House Washington DC"
This was the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel, restaurant, and customer service PERIOD! The people that worked there were no help whatsoever, and looked at us like we were trash because we didnt drive a BMW. The hotel room was small, the shower was dirty, and the shower head literally DRIPPED out water when trying to take a shower. We ordered […] room service because when we called to make a reservation for the hotels restaurant, they said they were full because of an outside party of 60. An hour and a half later, our food was cold, the bread was burnt, and it the pork was nothing but fat. "Smelly Room, Loud Guests, Paying for Coffee - Not Impressed."
Wasn't that impressed to be honest. My room smelled like wet carpet. The guest next to me came home at 4:00 am and partied until the sun came up. I called the front desk several times but the noise never stopped. Parking in their garage is 40 dollars a night, and you aren't told about it until you check out and pay. It's a good location and the price […] was right but not for all of the above issues. I mentioned all of these issues when checking out and all I got was a sorry. Oh, also there is NO COMPLIMENTARY COFFEE in the rooms. Something I have NEVER come across in all of my travels. They charge you $3/$4 per coffee packet you use in their little coffee maker. "Disappointed"
Rooms were dirty, rooftop pool is tiny with not enough chairs, no menu- they only serve hotdogs and burgers that were gross. Pool is filthy. Service was very poor. I would never stay here again. Very nice hotel, centrally located with lots of cafes and convenient stores nearby. However, the hotel is not suitable for people travelling with small children as the hotel rooms does not have bath tubs and the showers are overhead showers with no faucet or hand-held shower with hose. "Not "Smorking friendly hotel" anymore!"
