This hotel is in an excellent location, an easy walking distance from the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro stop. The Verizon Center is close and many Smithsonian museums are relatively close. "Great for a family vacation"
Our family stayed here Thanksgiving week. The location was wonderful - lots of restaurants and shops nearby and only a 10-minute walk to the National Mall. All the employees, from the front desk clerk to the valet parking attendant to the ladies who run the breakfast room to the housekeepers, were friendly and efficient. The breakfast is fairly typical […] of hotels, but the variety and quality were good and there was something for everyone. The lower floors are subject to some traffic noise, so you might think about asking for one of the higher floors. Also, the daily parking fee seems pretty expensive, but I suppose it's not out-of-line for the area...and the fee was listed up front, so I can't complain about it being a hidden charge. A few of the reviews I read said the hotel was in an unsafe area, so you should be careful about being out after dark. I didn't think that was the case at all, it was just a typical urban setting. There were a lot of people and other tourists out and about, so we never felt less than safe. Our ten-year-old son officially declared the hotel as "awesome!"
