Georgetown is DC at its most cosmopolitan. Here, Beltway bigwigs hold court at fine restaurants along M Street, a bustling shopping thoroughfare. Twentysomethings network at its trendy bars. Georgetown University dominates its west side, while rival George Washington University takes a chunk of Foggy Bottom. That area includes offices to major law firms, corporations, and the World Bank.

"Less than expected for the price"
The location was fantastic. Close to the metro in Georgetown, lots of great shops and restaurants in the area. Not happy about our room. We are a family of 5 including 2 teenagers and an 11 y/o. We had a unit with 2 queen beds and a pull out couch. We had planned on also using our blow-up mattress for one of the kids but there was no room to use it […] if you pulled out the couch. The photos on the web site look a whole lot bigger the real thing. The table was small and only had 3 chairs. The kitchen was understocked for cooking utensils/pots/plates. The garbage disposal didn't work and the dishwasher wasn't attached to ithe wall so the drawers would shoot out when opened. They did fix the dishwasher after 2 days but not the garbage disposal. One evening we smelled cigarette smoke in our room that must have come from a vent or through a connecting/neighboring room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location. Clean, modern rooms"
This hotel is great if you are looking for a place in Georgetown. Nice clean, modern rooms. Our room was totally quiet. Not luxurious but really nice, especially for the price. Parking is expensive, though- $40/night. I would definitely come back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quick Trip"
I had to make a last-minute trip to DC to visit someone in the hospital, and I was able to get a suite during Easter weekend/Cherry Blossom Festival/NCAA playoffs - one of the last ones left! So glad I found this place. A short walk to the hospital (which is also at the Foggy Bottom Metro station), and everyone at the hotel was very nice and accommodating […] and eager to help me with any questions I had. Very nice, modern place. I didn't really use the lovely kitchenette and other amenities since I spent most of my time at the hospital, but I'm sorry I didn't get to stay longer. Would definitely stay there again on my next trip back. Great location! Not far from Georgetown area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Spacious for families!"
The deluxe suite was quite spacious! The separate sink/vanity area gave us the opportunity to have 2 family members using sinks to get ready, at the same time! Having 2 TVs is great when traveling with kids! We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the room, especially upon initial check-in, which was very late at night. We did not make a formal […] complaint or request, as we spent a bit of time cleaning surfaces ourselves and picking up some discarded clothes tags and tissues under the desk, prior to settling for the night. After that, we were fairly content with the room. Staff at the front desk were friendly. The hotel is situated in a nice area! It's just a few blocks to Georgetown for restaurants, pastry shops, shopping, and trolley tours into Washington! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel, close to everything!"
I came here for an overnight stay with friends and it was a great experience. The staff was extremely warm and welcoming and helped us with everything we needed. The parking was tough so we had to settle for their very expensive valet service but that was totally worth it being that it is in the middle of dc. Over all great stay would definitely stay […] here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Loved the Avenue Suites"
Stayed over the weekend with my daughter and wife. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the location of the hotel great, the room giant and in very good condition, the kitchen was an added bonus; overall just a great stay! Highly recommended.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location!"
If you looking stay in the beautiful urban neighborhhood of Foggy Bottom - this is the place to stay! Walking distance from Georgetown shopping, DuPont Circle dining , and GWU. Liquor store and Trader Joe's short distance from the front door. I believe it's an all suites hotel with full size kitchen and flat screen TV's.. "This is a REAL suites hotel"
Lots of hotels offer so-called "suites," that are essentially larger rooms with a sofabed. The Avenue Suites are REALLY suites-- like small apartment units with a separate bedroom and kitchen. The staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a good location between Georgetown and National Mall attractions. Loved it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Newly Remodeled Hotel in a Great Location"
This hotel was recently renovated and you can certainly tell. Everything is exceptionally clean and fresh looking. The rooms are quite large and comfortable. The hotel is located within walking distance to Georgetown. I was definitely pleased with my stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic hotel for families and dogs"
My family (puppy included!) had an amazing stay at the Avenue suites. We had a room with a kitchen and it was very well equipped; plus there is a Trader Joe's across the street to buy supplies at. The hotel staff were always very helpful and willing to assist any way they could. While the hotel is not located near the classical tour sites of DC, it […] is really close to Georgetown. Also, we found out the last night of our stay that there is a complimentary happy hour from 5-6 if you're staying in the hotel (it would have been nice to be told that when we were checking into our room). OVERALL, WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Metro & Georgetown"
We stayed at the Avenue Suites during the 2013 Presidental Inaguration which was an extremely busy time for all hotels. You would not have realized it because the staff at Ave Suites made us feel that we were th only guests they had! We loved our stay so much that we extended it an additional day. From the moment we arrived until we left, the service […] could not have been better. Mitch was fabulous, he really went out of his way to make sure that we were happy during our stay. I must also mention Issam, Mahdi, Karam and Eda are also first rate. I travel a lot, but would be hard pressed to find a better hotel staff. The hotel is very close to Foggy Bottom metro center which made it extremely easy to get to all the attractions we came to see. My teen sons enjoyed the many good eateries in the area, especially BTS. Those burgers & shakes were outstanding! You cannot go wrong staying here, we sure didn't. "Above Average"
A very nice place to stay. The staff was more than accomodating and really friendly. With the full kitchen the room was much like a small apartment. A 20 minute walk to all the major attractions, Trader Joe's accross the street and Whole Foods Mkt a few blocks away makes this a choice location for a nice visit to DC. I was under the impression I had […] booked the last room for the busy Inaugural Weekend, but was asked if I wanted to upgrade to a more suitable room at checkin which was a pleasant surprise. The only negative was being charged for parking which was $40.00 when we had not used the hotel parking. The desk clerk graciously appologized for the error and gladly removed the charge. Look forward to a return stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The room had been totally re-modeled and the kitchen cabinets had been paint, but, people, it's not my home, it's a hotel. Location in heart of George Town, 3 blocks from Metro. "great stay and value"
The service was awesome!!!!! Everyone was so helpful and professional the whole way through. They don't offer self parking though..only valley( which was quite pricey 80$ for 2cars) but everything else was great! I will say here again in the future for sure. Also the location is the best, Especially for the price...Genuine Expedia guest review
"As in your own apartment"
It'slike living in your own apartment. Valet parking is a bit expensive and you don't really understand why it is valet if it is located on the underground floor. Anyway it doesn't take too much to have your car. Well located. There's a mini market just on the other side of the street. Close to Georgetown restaurants and nightlifeGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel for family"
The room was just right for our family of five. Decor within the room was nicely updated. Hallways and elevators could use some work. Breakfast not included. However, the Trader Joe's across the street and the kitchenette worked out well for us. Location is on bus lines that go directly to National Mall - $1.6/person/ride - passes are probably better […] deal for summer/longer stays. A cab ride is about $12 in a regular taxi (minivans are $3 extra for party of five). Walking distance to most shops and restaurants in Georgetown. Exercise room is really small but equipment is new. "Perfect DC location"
I have stayed at Washington Suites several times, and always like it, but not since it has become Avenue Suites. They have up-scaled the property and it is very nice. There was a mix-up in my reservation. When I arrived they had me in a very small typical hotel room. I told the desk that I though I had made a reservation for a one bedroom suite (small […] apartment). The desk was very accommodating and did place me in one. The reason I like staying here is because of the "apartment" when I am in DC for a week. It is very nice to have a kitchen, even if it is sparsely equipped . The hotel now has a full restaurant and bar but breakfast is quite expensive and it is nice to have my own in my room. This is a perfect location on the DC/Georgetown border. Metro station is a few blocks away and with Trader Joe's and very nice restaurants in he area I always feel very safe and comfortable traveling a a single woman. I highly recommend the cleanliness of the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, decent value."
A good location and a nice room. The walls between adjoining rooms are not well soundproofed, so if the guests in the room next door are having a party, it could be a problem. Also, it would have been nice to have had a comfortable lounge chair in addition to the sofa.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great suite between Georgetown and the White House"
What a great place! We only needed a one-night stay within walking distance of the Corcoran/White House and this was a terrific option. Very spacious and comfortable suite, well-appointed, and great friendly staff. Outdoor fireplace going at the bar drew us downstairs for a nightcap and the waitress helped us find an early spot for breakfast the next […] morning (hotel breakfast doesn't start until 8 a.m. on Saturday). Would definitely recommend based on price, location (so close to Georgetown, too), and accommodations. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Location Location Location"
Great location (Foggy Bottom/GWU Metro Station, Georgetown, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, Restaurants, 1.4 mile walk to the "mall"#. Hotel looks great and remodel works, but the individual room heating/air is tied into the central system and therefore individuals have no control. It's not a very efficient or effective system when very cold #or, I presume, […] when very warm in the D.C. summer#. Noise insulation lacking, especially since the back of the hotel is essentially part of a large "echo chamber" and the outside patio of the restaurant is a gathering place for parties. Expect weekend night noise/parties to go on for a bit. Surprised that the morning continental breakfast is not part of the package. And I recommend a happy hour because the lobby/bar space is perfect. Honestly, due to the problems with heating and noise we did not have a single uninterrupted night's sleep. But the beds are comfortable and the kitchen useful. Nice toiletries as well #L'Occitane#. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Stay!"
We had a great week stay here. It was perfect for such a long stay because of the location, kitchen, and separate "living area". It was nice to wind down on the couch watching tv as oppose to doing it on the bed. There were only 2 of us in the room but it could comfortably sleep 4 (two on the pull out couch). Everyone was very friendly and helpful. […] The night we arrived there were only 2 people working at the bar and they were busy but we waited 20 minutes for our drinks (beer) and decided to cancel our order and go up to our room. We did try the bar another night and had a much better experience. We also tried the grilled cheese which was tasty. Overall, we had a very nice experience there and we would stay there again. "Look close at this before you book"
The hotel had location as its best point. Perhaps I am used to a full service larger hotel with more amenities. For the younger people, I would imagine it is great. There was a car alarm that went off for 3 hrs. on the hr , on Thursday night early Friday morning from midnight to 3am...I did tell the mamager and front desk staff, who looked at me as […] if I were from another planet. No concern about my complaint. I shall write to the manager. The shower was great, but the bath room was small and cold. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Friendly and trying hard"
I stayed with my wife and 26-year old son for 4 nights in a one-bedroom suite which I booked for its flexibility of sleeping and eating arrangements. We were on the back of the building and it was very quiet. There was convenient access to Georgetown, nearby restaurants, transportation, and sightseeing. It was interesting walking around the neighborhood, […] which is also close to the Kennedy Center and Watergate complex. The rooms had a European feel but an odd-shaped layout. They also got too warm and the staff advised us that the only way to cool them down was to open the windows, which we did. However, when open just a crack the wind made a whistling noise. It looked like they ran out of money when renovating because the lamination on the kitchen counters hadn't even been replaced. We had constant trouble with the wide screen TV in the living room going to "No Signal" but after 3 calls they finally sent a capable repairman who knew what he was doing. The brand new Krups coffee maker didn't work; neither did the replacement when I first tried it. But eventually it started working. Valet parking was instantaneous - could not have been better and worth the extra money, but I kept the car for only 2 of 4 days as bus, cab, Metro, and walking were adequate. Breakfast was too pricey so I went out to the Marvelous Market half a block away. They are friendly and trying hard. Having learned the ropes, we would stay again. "Great location, modern feel"
Good location. Modern feel. Comfortable room. Bathroom a little tight, but clean. Late night staff were not overly attentive - when we found that both bottles of water in our room had already been half used by prior guests and asked for a replacement, we were told we'd have to wait for the room service staff in the morning. When pushed, they were quite […] delayed in bringing to the room. So a trip to reception finds the reception member of staff playing on his phone and took some time to get his attention - just not overly pleasing. "Business crowd, but family friendly"
The hotel is "newly refurbished" and nicely decorated. I only stayed one night while passing through on a road trip so my experience in the hotel is limited. There is only valet parking at the hotel (about $41 per night), although if you are an adventure seeker you could park on the street and take the short walk back. Upon arrival you pull into the […] parking space in front of the entrance. Entering the lobby I was warmly greeted/checked (it is an intimate space you are able to see the breakfast area and outdoor patio area). In the evenings the breakfast area is packed with young professionals socializing. The hotel has a very welcoming atmosphere. The location is great! I was able to walk to the State Department within 15 minutes in heels. To get to the National Mall you will want to take a taxi or train. I only had one issue with the hotel; I chose to pay cash for the parking and my credit card was charged. It was a little bit of a hassle to get the funds returned simply because I was told to call someone that passed me off to someone else, etc. (I made calls to four people, some I had to call more than once), but once I finally spoke to the correct person he handled my request with no problem and I had a pending credit on my account within 24 hours. Also if you are not familiar with D.C. PLEASE pay attention to where you park. Read the signs. This is one place where illegally parking will cost you. I witnessed a lot of ticketing & towing in my short time there. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
