Kellogg Conference Hotel at Gallaudet University

What a great find! Tucked away on the leafy green campus of Gallaudet University, the hotel offered a clean, quiet and well-appointed escape in the middle of a bustling gentrifying DC neighborhood! There were so many pluses - from the free frequent shuttle to Union Station, to the breakfast/lunch and after-hours cocktails offering in the building, the […] short walk to shops, nightlife and the NOMA Metro stop, friendly staff, very clean rooms with nice decor, safety offered by a college campus and a TV with dozens of channels. Only minor gripes are mattresses were on the firm side and cab service (if needed) had to be called. I will only stay here from now on when visiting the city! Read more

The hotel was clean, modern and had great service. It is on a gated Deaf University Campus in the middle of a not so good neighborhood. But that's no problem because the hotel has a free shuttle and the University has a free shuttle that runs regularly to Union Station that guests of the hotel can ride on. It was extremely convenient and safe. Since […] the University is for deaf and hard of hearing students, the entire campus (including the hotel) is very quiet and tranquil. We didn't know sign language, but the hotel staff is very helpful even those that only know sign language. (We had to write down our food and drink order once.) Overall condition of the hotel was decent. But our car was broken in to in the middle of the night. Got a call to see if we owned a Honda from the hotel. Said no because our car was a Toyota. Found out 2 hours later that it was actually our car that they broke into!! Wasted 4-5 hours of our trip figurung out all the police information. Room and staff was very good. Overall we had a wonderful stay. They have a paid parking inside the campus within walking distance for $19 (24hrs.). They also have a paid breakfast. Just few miles to Whitehouse and other attractions. Overall our experience was excellent.

Overall, great hotel. Staff couldn't help us find our way there when we got lost in DC. The rooms weren't quite as clean as we'd hoped. And the location wasn't very walkable. Was a good hotel for a night stay, but overall I would want to be closer to downtown.

The hotel was very nice and clean as expected. The cleaning lady was extremely nice! I asked for more shampoo & soap and she gave me a bunch. Front desk service was mixed. I called ahead to confirm my reservation & received great service by the man. When I got to DC and called for directions to the hotel, the lady who answered was not helpful at all! […] Felt like she didn't care and just want to end the call asap. I had to call 4 times just to get enough clear directions to catch the campus shuttle which ended up not coming at all! Location is fairly close and cost about $10 for taxi to the center. Campus shuttle was very unreliable. Good thing it was only 15 min walk from the hotel to the metro stop. If you're planning to return late at night via metro and then catch a taxi to the campus, good luck on catching a taxi. We waited for 30 min for one. Otherwise, the experience was a good one. Staff were very friendly, especially Stephanie at reception desk.Room was clean , sink in bathroom was cracked but did not bother us for 1 night stay. Das Hotel liegt auf dem Unigelände - was ein Navi leider nicht weiß. Nach einigem Suchen haben wir es auch gefunden. Das Hotel ist sauber. Die Getränke und Snacks sind sehr teuer - für ein Conferencecenter. Für eine Flasche Bier 8$. Wenn man das Unigelände verlässt geht man ungefahr 15 Minuten zur nächsten U-Bahn Station. Die Gegend selbst ist etwas […] verwahrlost und nicht die Beste. Aber sicher ist sie - hatten wir das Gefühl. Dafür fährt man aber nur eine Station bis zur Union Station nahe dem Capitol. Die Zimmer sind sehr groß und das Frühstück war gut mit frischem Obst, cerials, Pancakes, Muffins oder Toast. Kaffe, Milch, Kakao, Saft (frisch). Frühstück ist extra zu bezahlen, lohnt aber, da es in der City viel teurer ist und nicht so nett angerichtet. Alles in Allem ein nettes Hotel. Read more

Das Hotel ist etwas außerhalb und die Nachbarschaft ist nicht die Beste. Da sich das Hotel auf dem Campus einer Taubstummen Uni befindet ist das Gelände bewacht und sicher. Die Entfernung zur Stadtmitte ist allerdings kein Problem, da ein kostenloser Shuttleservice zur Verfügung steht. Die Hotelangestellten sind äußerst nett und hilfsbereit.
