"Close to Capitol Hill Neighborhood"
We were very pleased with our stay. Parking was easy and convenient, the room was very comfortable, breakfast was very good, the staff was friendly, and the hallway photographs of historic Gallaudet are fascinating. I couldn't believe what a nice hotel this was for the the remarkable price! Our room riveled anything out there that DC has to offer and the area was so quiet and serene. My stay was just fine. We came inn for the Avon walk for breast cancer. We (3 couples) chose this hotel for convenience of dining but found the dining room never opened on a FRIDAY night. Hotel was fine. However, the location is in a blighted area (Outside the college grounds). A suggestion to the hotel would be to provide directions and maps of area eateries and shopping areas. "hidden gem in DC for half the cost of the others"
located on the campus of a college that has been there for over 120 years, the college itself is place to see when considering DC. Ad to that the fact that the hotel was what I would consider 4 star, clean, quiet, comfortable and reasonable and that should be enough. Hotel, overall was nice, but getting to and from it was a total pain in the ***. Evidently, the school campus is in a bad part of town so it's completely fenced off around the whole perimeter with only one entry point. We figured that out the hard way... On foot. "Trapped on Campus"
It was okay but we were in a questionable neighborhood protected by the college campus. When the campus closed at night we had to walk an extra couple of blocks to get inside the grounds.
