Mid-rises and mansions grace the leafy streets of Dupont Circle, where independent cafes and shops thrive. With a number of gay bars and businesses, this area is DC’s main gay neighborhood. Foreign flags fly high on Embassy Row, the stretch of Massachusetts Avenue from the Circle to the National Zoo and National Cathedral. "Best value and location"
We had an outstanding four night stay at the St Gregory this April. The location is close to everything, the staff was very friendly, and the room was luxurious. The restaurant/lounge made the stay exceptional. This is a luxurious property at a Holiday inn price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best stay in DC yet."
With some reluctance we booked at the St.Gregory instead of one of the larger chains. VERY GLAD we did. As it was Cherry Blossom Festival going on in DC rooms were tight and we thought to give the St. Gregory a chance from the reviews online. They were quite accurate with a very nice hotel in a great location. Our room was even upgraded to one of the […] Signature Suite room with a wrap around balcony. Superb! Will definitely stay there again and highly recommended. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"In DC for the White House Egg Roll"
Great deal on the room. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Room was gorgeous. Our two young girls enjoyed the room. Free champaign in the room for the parents almost made up for the $40+ mandatory valet parking. The hotel was father away from the white house than original website said. Almost 2 miles, or an $8 cab ride. Very nice area with lots […] of eating places near by. We used a cooler and the in room refrigerator to save money. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fabulous value"
I took my daughter for an impromptu trip to DC and got a truly incredible room rate at the St. Gregory. The rate was so good that I expected little but the hotel was truly luxurious and the staff could not have been more pleasant. "Great Hotel"
We really enjoyed our stay at the St. Gregory. It was very easy to get around DC, both walking and by taxi. We hit most all of the sites, and felt like we were centrally located. There was plenty of good food within walking distance. The hotel was clean, nicely decorated, and we had a very large room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. "Convenient Luxury"
A luxury hotel with all the service & amenities but not the price. The only add-on we paid for was overnight parking in their secure, underground garage, but it was worth it to be able to stash the car and forget about it while tooling around DC. The St. Gregory is located right between two major metro stops (Dupont Circle & Farragut West) with tons […] of eateries, shops and cafes nearby. The suite comes with a full kitchen, two TVs, decent pull-out sofa bed and plenty of room, so provided a good respite for breaks from the sites. For the price and location I would definitely stay again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The St. Gregory in DC"
We rented 3 rooms for a large family visit to see the sights in DC. The staff was great, the rooms were close together, and very comfortable and well equipped. "Great Experience"
Everybody was very friendly. The Suite is a wonderful idea when traveling with kids or another couple, we had a 17yr old and didn't want to put him in a room by himself but the suite devides the room. He had his own tv and we all had privacy. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definately be staying here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A hotel stay that I would rather forget"
I decided to stop off in Washington with my kids for a few days to supplement their learning of American history. We have been living overseas and the only place they see US history is in their textbooks at the local American school. We arrived at the hotel late in the evening after an almost 20 hour journey. Check in was efficient and we were in our […] Jr. suite. The suite felt a little cramped for 3 people (me and my 2 kids) . Anyway, we decided to get ample sleep for the next day to recover from our jet lag. We got up 9 hours later (the hotel is on a busy intersection and you can ignore the traffic noise for only so long). The first problem we encountered was that the shower faucet/head did not work (no water flow...at all!). So, we got up anyway to go get some breakfast. I left our passports and valuables in the safe and locked it. On the way out, I stopped and complained about the shower and the cramp room - the guy at the front desk was a little curt but said that he would get somebody to look at it. We were out for 1.5-2 hours having breakfast at a nearby place. When we got back, the shower was working fine and the room had been cleaned. About 30 minutes after getting back, I tried to open the safe using the code I had set, but I couldn't open it. I tried a couple of times but it didn't work - I realized that the code had been reset. If you think your valuables are safe in a hotel room safe.....I have news for you. The codes can be electronically bypassed by anyone who knows the procedure. I am not going to tell you how, but we own a similar safe as the one found in most hotel rooms and are familiar with it. It is better to leave your stuff at the front desk safe after doing an inventory check with the desk clerk. I didn't anticipate that a person knowing the procedure would have access to our room safe - I generally trust hotel staff at reputable hotels. Anyway, I bypassed the code and when I opened the safe I found our passports rearranged and US$1000 miss Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by St. Gregory Luxury Hotel And Suites We thank the guests for their comments and extend our apologies for any inconveniences they may have experienced. However, we feel that we must put this complaint into perspective. The guest did receive a suite as booked with the hotel with 2 double beds, a living area and pantry kitchen. While the guest may have felt it was noisy the suite is a very nice suite with wrap around windows. The incident the guest highlights with the safe needs clarification. The guest was not able to open the safe and may have forgotten the initial safe combination and in the presence of the police could not open it as stated or the ability to over-ride. The police interviewed the guest and reviewed the complaint and could not understand how nothing else was disturbed in the safe including additional cash, passports, laptop and valuables. So we find that making this statement is truly remarkable when the guest themselves could not do what they state in their comments regarding the over -ride of a combination. The police also stated that the situation was rather unusual; as the guests had checked the safe before leaving the room and that nothing was disturbed. All security measures showed that nothing unusual occurred during their absence (about 1 hour). The safes in the hotel are in hundreds of hotels across the world. As the comment stated here with regard to the safe - is incongruent with what was reported and observed by the police. The guest used the safe for the balance of their stay. Again we extend our apologies to them and trust they had a safe trip back to their home in the Middle East and hope that they will consider revisiting us in the future.
"Convenient comfort"
Our stay at the St. Gregory Hotel in DC was a convient and comfortable hotel when visiting in the DC area. We were within walking distance to the downtown area. There were plenty of restaurants as well as shops, museums and the metro in case you wanted to travel outside the DC area. A couple of downfalls though is there was not much open in the way […] for clubs. Shops seemed to close early and I was not given a receipt for my stay at the hotel. "Advantage of a kitchenette & Trader Joe's near by"
I liked that the room had a kitchenette, so I could cook dinner, even though the it was sparsley stocked, and with teflon (think carcenogenic) pans. Trader Joe's was just 6 blocks away, so I made several trips for groceries and cooked us breakfast and a dinner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"St Gregory - ask for a view"
Very comfortable, friendly staff, good fitness room. If you are on the upper floors, facing west, you can get a great view of Central Park. One drawback is the tiny lobby with no lounge area, no vending machines. It's sort of like staying in an apartment building.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel is very well located in downtown DC. Consequently no parking lot - had to use valet parking which is kind of expensive, as was taking cabs to and from our early morning tour of the Capitol.
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
