"Great Downtown Location"
This hotel was in a great location, 2 blocks from the White House and across the street from the McPherson Square metro stop. It is also close to many bus routes. Check-in was a breeze (under 2 minutes) and the room was nice. Our room was on the backside of the building overlooking an alley, not a problem for us, but it may be for others. There was […] always fresh fruit or cookies and coffee or water (depending on time) in the lobby. There was also a cooler with water bottles for us to take on our way out to explore the city. We stayed 3 nights, and our only complaint was the noise of the air conditioning unit. The air conditioning was very loud when it turned on and woke us throughout the night. the next night, i adjusted the thermostat to leave the fan always running and that helped. Very happy with the hotel. Depending on time of day, in the lobby there's either coffee and hot water or ice water with lemon or oranges in it, sometimes cookies. They have 3 computers for use which are slow but adequate. The shower water pressure was so-so but that is my only tiny complaint. I actually later stayed at the Marriott Wardman Park for […] business which had the same soft water pressure issue. BTW, the Hilton Garden Inn was just as good as Wardman Park...for half the price. "5 Star! Location, Food, Comfort"
My husband & I and another married couple were going down to DC for the wknd. We left early Sat. Check in was 3pm, but we arrived @ 1230pm, this was no problem for the management, the gave us keys right away, and put our friends in the room across from us. We didnt even have to wait. The rooms were perfect & beautiful, you know... it says a lot when you enter a room & can smell how clean it is. The beds were so comfortable my husband & I want to get a Wool Top for our bed (seriously comfort). The walk from the Hotel is a 20 min straight walk to the Museums & Monuments. We were able to get to see everything we wanted. We had a list for Restaurants to eat at in the area, but ended up eating downstairs (I forget the name of the Hotel Restaurant) but it was amazing, the gentleman serving us was WONDERFUL, he was nice & courteous, I wish I new his name... We stayed in a room with a king bed. The room was really comfortable, bed and pillows were too. The White House was right down the street. It was a great area, close to a lot of things- museums and other attractions. The people were very help especially the valet guys. They were great. Price was fair.
