Two blocks from Dupont Circle, this Washington, DC hotel stands amid the historic mansions of Embassy Row. The Phillips Collection is a half-block from the hotel, and a Metro stop 1.5 blocks away. The White House and Georgetown are both within about a mile. The hotel is also near shopping, a convention center, and a university.

The hotel's 2100 Prime restaurant serves American cuisine for breakfast and dinner. Two fireplaces enhance the intimate ambience of the Fairfax Lounge. Room service is available 24 hours a day. Wireless Internet access is complimentary in the lobby, restaurant, and lounge. The hotel provides 24-hour work-outs in its fitness facility; for your business needs, there are 7 conference spaces, translation services, and event catering.
Guestrooms.
Guestrooms provide views of Embassy Row, the National Cathedral, or the Washington Monument. Refined, traditional décor mingles with modern amenities, including 42-inch flat-panel televisions, iPod docking stations, and wireless Internet access (surcharge). Pillowtop mattresses are layered with 300-thread-count Fili D'oro linens. Marble bathrooms feature designer toiletries and Italian Frette bathrobes. Fairfax Lounge - Serving lunch, dinner, and exquisite beverage specials, this paneled room is an inviting place warmed by two fireplaces. Antique oars and model boats lend a nautical feel. The Lounge hosts wine tasting events and features an inspired menu of regional delights.
The hotel's 24-hour fitness center offers a variety of cardio and strength-training equipment. The nearest golf course is the 18-hole Hains Point, less than three miles away on the banks of the Potomac River. Hains Point includes a two-tier driving range, as well as a miniature golf course listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Mid-rises and mansions grace the leafy streets of Dupont Circle, where independent cafes and shops thrive. With a number of gay bars and businesses, this area is DC’s main gay neighborhood. Foreign flags fly high on Embassy Row, the stretch of Massachusetts Avenue from the Circle to the National Zoo and National Cathedral. At night, locals head north to Adams Morgan for drinks and live music.

"A Little Slice of History"
We were welcomed very warmly and any need that we expressed was well taken care of. The hotel was lovely, has rich history of it's own that we enjoyed hearing about and was very clean. Hotel was located in a good neighborhood with plenty of restaraunts near by. Staff was very courteous and helpful with recommendations. The room was not large but comfortable and clean. The A/C kicking on and off during the night was a little noisy but not enough to keep us awake. There's a metro stop close by but we used taxis as it was just as cheap […] for four of us. Nice hotel, good location, clean room, friendly personnel, so overall we are vey satisfied ;-) But I was a litle bit disapointed that we had to pay 35-40 dollar for 3 days with wireless internet, and that was for one unit. "Price and Style"
We had several issues wiith this hotel. Mostly with housekeeping issues. When we checked in I noticed that on the of the bed had dirt in the bed. They came right up and changed the sheets. The first night we had turndown service. The second night we had no turndown service and although all the towels were replacedt on the there was a pile of used towels […] left on the floor. Very nice hotel on "Embassy Row". The staff was very helpful and nice, although we felt a little out of our element being middle-class midwesterners in an upscale hotel. The online site said there is public parking, but we didn't find any. There was street parking, but all were full and many were restricted as to what times you could park there. The […] parking garages seemed to be all restricted as well. Although we had to circle the hotel block 3 times to find the little entry way to the hotel courtyard, so it could just be that we didn't see the public parking garage. There were plenty of restaurants within walking distance (anything from Subway, to pizza, to nicer restaurants). The Fairfax at Embassy Row is a combination of excellent staff and great location. Located just off of Dupont Circle, it is walkable to a number of quality restaurants and overall sight seeing. We stayed in the Grand Deluxe 2 Queens room. The room was very clean and plenty of space for my 5 and 3 yrs old to move around. Only down side was the mini bar. Not that I feel the minibar is a good value but my daughters had the munchies in the middle of the night and to their disappointment it was completely empty. I went down to the hotel lobby hopeing […] for a vending machine but there were none. I was told the closest store was CVS about 3 blocks away from the hotel. Live only 20 miles south, but wanted to be a tourist in an A-grade hotel in the Dupont Circle area due to the great restaurants in this upscale area of DC. "We loved it and our dog did too!"
We were meeting our daughter in DC, us from NC and her from NYC, to deliver her English Bull Terrier (65 lbs.). This hotel accepted dogs, but we had to ask special okay for one this size. They agreed and Augie took over the place like he owned it.....and they loved him right back. Absolutely great staff from the front desk and concierge to the parking […] attendants and cleaning staff. Everyone there made sure we were well taken care of. We took Augie out several times and the staff always were friendly, going out of their way to make sure we had no dog-related problems. Walking around Dupont Circle was great for just the scenery and buildings, but the restaurants were equally awesome. We plan to stay again.
