There was virtually nothing positive about this motel. The room was dirty and out of date. There was a strong smell of industrial cleaning fluid which masked the "natural" odor in the room. The heater/ac unit did not work at all. The tub filled up with water while taking a shower -- clearly there were drainage issues. "bad exoerience"
i was not happy with the stay. the room was in very poor shape and dirty. i did not want my child or myself to stay in this room but due to the lateness of us checking in for our reserved room, we were unable to find an available room at another motel that was in a safe location. when i spoke to the manager about the room, the following day, i was brushed […] off. for the cost of the room, one would expect it to be in better shape. the rooms disrepair consisted of handles on the drawers were hanging off, coloring with crayons on the walls, hair in the tub, tub wall broken and insides were exposed, ripped wall paper, busted lights, torn carpet, rotting room door and even the drapes were not connected. This hotel does not deserve its name. The area is not safe, the 4-lane road in front of the motel makes it easy to get there, but is also really noisy. Our room was beneath the stairs, so very dark. The carpet was so worn and dirty that my feet were black after walking on it. The bathroom was not very clean either. But all this was topped by breakfast. […] We have stayed in lots of budget motels, but never had such an awful breakfast. It is only served until 9 am, the room is tiny for the number of rooms. People had to queue for ages or eat outside. At 8.45 the buffet was not refilled because it was "just before 9" according to the staff. One lady at the reception was competent, everybody else not fit for the job: no clue, unfriendly, unresponsive. The room needed maintenance. The person working the breakfast set up gave an impression that everyone was inconveniencing them and we should eat elsewhere. The room needed maintenance. "Nightmare"
Except for the close distance to the city highlights the whole stay was a nightmare. The room's carpet was soaking wet when we arrived and the whole room stank as if a cat had peed in every corner. The breakfast room has 17 chairs serving for 97 rooms. It was crowdy in it like during rush hour in the metro. We asked two times for the manager to complain […] but he/she never appeared. "A Good Deal for DC, but . . ."
This hotel was fairly priced for the quality of the room, but it is in a very unsafe area. The parking lot is very well lit, but very crowded. Breakfast was always very crowded so go early if you can. This is an older hotel that needs some TLC. This place was just average. Just what I expected for a sight unseen, over the telephone generic reservation. Close to downtown DC with straight easy access. Room was small, carpet worn, kinda smelly (they tried to cover it up with carpet fresh) which made it worse. Bed not that comfortable, pillows were too small., I fully realize this is not nor is […] it trying to be, nor did they charge like a four or five star hotel.The receptionist at the front who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. "Not recommend this hotel at all, terrible manager"
I had a trouble! I think the manager's head is filled with $20 bill. - As a result, my family(2 kids and wife) and I had to stay at lobby(6ft x 10ft, 2 chairs and small bench only) >90min at night when I came back from one-day walk. I went on vacation trip and stayed there. On the 2nd day, 8:00PM, when I came back to the hotel, the door lock was broken […] so couldn't opened. I requested Manager to have another room for us until he fix th e door. My family were tired out so wanted to lay down to take a rest. However, the manager refused my request and had us wait at lobby. He called a guy to fix the lock but the guy would take 45 min to arrive, and stil not sure when he can complete or if he can fix. The guy came in at 9:35PM, he opened the door at 9:45PM. He tried to fix it until 10:45PM but couldn't fix it. From 8:00PM-10:45PM, My family were patient. Next day, the hotel changed my room,,,, !? The manager discounted only $20! - not received yet. I think this is terrible decision. I verified those decisions were made by the manager. I didn't want money, I wanted to take a rest for my family. I don't think there is "customer service" on the manager. I never heard "Sorry for our inconvenience" from the manager. While I was staying at lobby, several customer came to reception and said they had problem on door lock. Would better to go others if you expect "taking a rest or be relax" for a hotel. Hotellet har Downtown i navnet, men det er IKKE downtown! Det er langt å gå, vi spurte oss litt for om det var trygt å gå langs NY avenue, og det skulle være relativt trygt (siden INGEN gikk der), men det var et par sidegater der vi burde ligge laaangt unna...
