Mid-rises and mansions grace the leafy streets of Dupont Circle, where independent cafes and shops thrive. With a number of gay bars and businesses, this area is DC’s main gay neighborhood. Foreign flags fly high on Embassy Row, the stretch of Massachusetts Avenue from the Circle to the National Zoo and National Cathedral. At night, locals head north to Adams Morgan for drinks and live music.

"Good hotel at a convenient place."
The restaurant are OK, but the choice of food is culturally restricted. The price is high.Genuine Expedia guest review
"a wonderful stay"
Great hotel in a nice area of town. Walking distance to Georgetown. Hotel staff helpful. I needed a microwave and they delivered it right away. It costs more than the hotel I stayed the night before, but certainly worth it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Concierge level (9) is superb."
The exercise room and pool were closed due to renovation which was a disappointment. The concierge level is well worth the expense.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Outstanding hotel"
Awsome! Luxurious, well kept, great location and very friendly staf.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Most comfortable"
My favorite hotel in DC. Love Fairmonts generally and this one is great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The best staff!"
While the hotel itself is beautiful, it was the friendliness of the entire staff - from the person who checked us in after midnight to the valet to the restaurant staff - that made our stay so enjoyable!Genuine Expedia guest review
"great service"
Didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel however I did leave a pair of pants overnight and called back today and they're going to ship them at the hotels charge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Always very comfortable, excellent service"
Hard to find anything not to like about the Fairmont. The pool area could be modernized a bit, but it's all as clean as a whistle. The service in the hotel is beyond question. A very comfortable stay every time.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good but needs update and attention to service"
Have stayed at this location several times under different and current owners. The rooms are clean but a bit dated. Great bones to the building--lots of open space and the lobby and public areas are well-decorated. I was disappointed to find that I had to pay $15 to use the gym. Service at the restaurant was very slow for breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The Fairmont is a lovely hotel in a great location. Service was exactly what is expected at a Fairmont property. Room was comfortable.clean and well maintained.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to George town"
Parking is expensive, after 6:30 on Saturday and all day sunday is free street parking and a safe area for the car, you can save some money. Not a fan of double bed for two people, would rather have a Queen or king, Like any big city spend the extra $20 for a room that is overlooking the inner court yard, lots of sirens at night from fire station near […] by. Staff was great and the best hotel I have stay in the DC area so far. Liked it better than Westin,Hilton, etc. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Experience"
The Fairmont continues to be a great hotel. The location is ideal for a short stroll into Georgetown and is minutes away from the Foggy Bottom Metro (orange and blue lines). At the price, the hotel cannot be beat.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"great hotel in a great location"
positives- wonderful, upscale hotel within easy walking distance to Georgetown and Dupont Circle area. Negative- a $15 charge to use the hotel's fitness facility???? c'mon folks, really? Not a cheap place to stay (especially with a $45 parking fee) but worth it for a special event. But $15 to work out??? REALLY?Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Washington DC sights"
Enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont. It was within walking distance of many sights. I did, however, find the overnight parking fee ($45) to be pretty steep!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Fairmont is a beautiful hotel -- just a block to Georgetown and very convenient to all of downton DC. We actually live in the DC area , but were having work done on our house that required we leave. What a treat this was. The room was fantastic -- large and quiet (we requested a high floor). All of the staff was extremely helpful. Would highly recommend […] this hotel! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great luxury hotel"
spent a long weekend there to see the sights in DC and attend a Nationals baseball game with my husband and teenage sons. We enjoyed the Juniper brunch on sunday and drinks in the lobby bar with the piano player on sat night. Overall the hotel was very nice, hot shower and great water pressure, staff was nice and the location was perfect.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Room on a noisy street and pets in rooms"
Lovely looking hotel lots of marble and mirrors. Loved the look and feel of my toom but the hotel is less than 2 blocks away from a fighter fighting station which made for a nearly impossible full night of sleep. After the third time of being woken up by the noise I started writing down the times that I was woke up either by sirens or a noisy drunk […] male or female shouting for gun in the streets. Also house keeping would let the doors slam behind them when they would go in and out of rooms. Also I was shocked that they were a dog friendly hotel. I wish I would have been made aware of this fact prior to my stay. I like dogs but I am allergic to them so to say the least- I had amiserable weekend and the flight home was horrible because my nose and ears were clogged. Y ears would not acclimate to the pressure in the aircraft cabin so I have an ear ache today. All because of Dogs . Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent hotel and excellent price"
We stayed one night at this hotel. It was a lovely experience with excellent service and room accommodations. The location was in walking distance to Georgetown. However we needed a cab to get to Union Square for our tour. Parking in the area is challenging but reasonably priced lots are nearby. Great price found on this site. Highly recommended.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent Hotel"
Beautiful hotel! Lobby and room were gorgeous. Ambience was wonderful! Lobby staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice to see a hotel still offering complimentary toiletries. Everything was excellent except the room service! One item (coffee) was left out of our order; to their credit they delivered it free of charge, but it was strange to have the […] attendant hand the cup directly to me, without a tray or some apparatus. By the time it arrived it was cold and the saran wrap had melted on to the cup. Food came from Juniper, the attached restaurant -- decent but nothing to write home about. Our kids loved the fitness center / pool. They felt safe and were welcomed at all times by friendly staff. Our pet enjoyed it's stay too. Highly recommended.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, great hotel"
Attractive hotel with a garden in the atrium, bright and light, with a very helpful concierge and a nicely appointed room that showed only a little wear and tear (ripple in seam in the wallpaper in the bathroom). Great location for Georgetown or the metro. And the price was FABULOUS!Genuine Expedia guest review
"close to Georgetown shopping and Metro station"
very nice hotel and location for the price we booked through Hotels.com but would not pay the full Fairmont price. four blocks from Metro train station so do not need a rental car, you can get to everything in the D.C. area on the Metro system.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"An elegant oasis"
The Fairmont - one of the loveliest, cleanest hotels we have encountered in recent times. Our room - perfectly proportioned, soothingly attractive, immaculate, and so quiet. Will definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great price but watch for extra charges"
Nice large room, excellent price, but the hotel seems to be trying to make up for a low room price by nickel and diming on other things. Be sure to join the Fairmont President's Club online (it's free) for complimentary access to the gym and internet.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good location, excellent service"
We were grateful for the upgrade to a larger room but rather put off by the shoddy cleaning of the room. There was a cracker piece on the floor, one light bulb was out, there was a water ring on the glass on top of the tv credenza, and the small granite round table by the chairs had dried-on something on it. I imagine it had been dusted, but it needed […] cleaning with a spray or soap and water--ugh. That was the only downside to our short stay. The person who checked us in and the one who checked us out were ultra-professional and courteous. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
