Mid-rises and mansions grace the leafy streets of Dupont Circle, where independent cafes and shops thrive. With a number of gay bars and businesses, this area is DC’s main gay neighborhood. Foreign flags fly high on Embassy Row, the stretch of Massachusetts Avenue from the Circle to the National Zoo and National Cathedral. At night, locals head north to Adams Morgan for drinks and live music.

We really enjoyed staying here. It's an older hotel but close to our son's apartment so it was very convenient for us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Hotel"
My husband and I stayed overnight at the Churchill while visiting my daughter in DC. We booked this through a special on hotels.com. (We paid under $90 for the night) While being ultra modern, the hotel had a vintage feeling . Most importantly, it was immaculately clean. The staff were very helpful and the hotel bar was very trendy and comfortable. The […] Churchill is perfectly located, close to Metro Stops and attractions. I would definitely stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"very pleased"
the churchill is an older hotel, but well maintained and charming in its way. our room was large, very clean, had excellent beds, very nice linens, a small refrigerator, lots of lighting - it was actually nicer than i had expected. the staff was friendly. it's about a 10 minute walk to the dupont circle metro stop (red line), with many restaurants in […] between. note: the walk from the metro to the hotel is slightly uphill - that may be a problem for some people. we were very satisfied. based on my experience, i would consider this hotel a 3.5 star. I really liked the hotel. It had a great old fashioned feel with modern conveniences. The only thing I thought was odd was that the art in the main lobby was ultra modern. It didn't seem to fit the theme of the hotel. Otherwise, we liked it alot!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful historic Georgetown"
This hotel was beautiful. We stayed in a king room and the room was huge. There was a siting area with a sofa, chair and cofee table, a mini fridge and multiple phones throughout the room. If you are looking for a modern hotel, this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for rich history and excellent customer service, The Churchill is […] your place. You can tell it is an older building, but it is in good shape and had retained it's historic charm. It is close to public transportation and amazing restaurants. We would definitely stay here again! "Great Hotel"
We stayed at The Churchill with our toddler and it was such a good hotel that we will be back if and when we are in DC again. 10 min walk to the DuPont Circle metro which is a big hub. Clean hotel. Best of all is the staff. From the restaurant to the reception, everyone is very nice, helpful. We needed to warm the bottle milk for our baby and the staff […] was very helpful. "Bathroom was so small, Room was really large"
This was a nice hotel and the room we got was really nice and large for 2 adults and 2 children. They gave usdown pillows that we requested, and it was quiet. But the bathroom was so narrow, you had to turn sideways to get past the sinks to the shower and toilet. A bit odd. The overnite parking fee is $39 per day, OUCH. But I would recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location when the Metro escalator construction is complete. Hop on and you are at the Smithsonian in minutes. Rooms are spacious. Beds are comfortable. Older hotel so a little cramp in and around elevators. If you like the character and ornation of older hotels then this one does not disappoint. Parking is valet only at $39/night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"The Churchill Hotel in Washington, DC"
This is a lovely hotel, conveniently located, but most of all, with a wonderful staff that really "gets it", when it comes to the word "hospitality". This was a special family trip to see the Army-Navy game, celebrate a birthday, and enjoy a special tour of the White House.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"One of the "Best" hotel experience we have had!"
At first entering hotel, you realize this is something "special". The ambiance (European feel of room). It has a warm and "cozy" feel/historical presence/great & convenient (walking location). Most importantly:- The hotel staff were superior in every way. They were warm, caring, intelligent, very helpful. "They couldn't do enough for us". We "highly" […] recommend this "historical" hotel for the reasons mentioned above. We plan to call it our "home away from home" next time! We rate this hotel A++ ! "Washington's Churchill Hotel -- always a pleasure"
We stay at this attractive boutique hotel when we visit our kids in DC. The location is great, just above Dupont Circle, near the Metro and right on a bus line. It's a charming old building with gracious rooms and very helpful staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Churchill"
The Churchill has seen better days. It's shabby and rundown now. It has few staff there; you can call the desk three times before anyone answers. The restaurant was being renovated and there was absolutely no food or drink to be had in the hotel. (Well, soda but that's sugar) I have stayed there many times and must say its slide is sad.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great"
Facilities and staff are great, we would definitely go back. The metro station is 5 blocks away from the hotel which wasn’t good in our case because of rain and we didn’t have a car.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Churchill Hotel --Dupont Circle -- DC"
This hotel was much nicer than I expected for the rate we paid. The staff were friendly and efficient. Its Dupont Circle location was extremely convenient. The breakfast buffet was ample. I can't say enough about how great this hotel is.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

What a fun hotel this was! The staff was so helpful and accommodating. We booked the junior suite, and I just loved it. The location was a short drive to the National Zoo, and the surrounding restaraunts were a short walk and delicious!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel, Great Location!"
Having never traveled to Washington DC I relied heavily on internet research and reviews. I found The Churchill Hotel on Hotels.com, read the reviews and booked it. "Updating needed"
Though our hotel had windows that could be opened - something we love - there were no screens. Consequently, our room was full of flying insects!!! The rooms and the hotel have no internet which would have made it impossible for us to stay if this were not a purely pleasure trip. The bathroom has no magnifying mirror, something I haven't seen anywhere […] in decades. The location, as noted above is outstanding as was the size of the room and the furnishings. Spoiled? Perhaps, but we have come to expect some things as basic, especially internet access, if not in the room at least on the premises. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Hotel, difficult location"
This was an excellent hotel...clean, nice bathrooms. Only three complaints were: 1) The refrigerator in the cabinet was not vented so the inside does not get cold! Keep the cabinet door open if you have food inside the refrigerator. 2) It is a difficult hotel to find with all sorts of one-way streets. Kind of far away from the action. 3) No parking. […] However, we were able to get street parking relatively easily. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I was disappointed with my stay at the ChurchHill. I live in Washington, but had family visiting and I thought some time in Dupont Circle would be fun for us all. I booked a deluxe suite, and the room was large and comfortable, but the hotel elevators didnt work and after being out from 9am till 3pm, we arrived back to find our room had not been cleaned. […] The place has a lot of potential but when they renovated they cut a lot of corners, so it doesnt quite hold up to the price we paid. Next time I book in DC, I would choose another hotel. Shame because I really like historic hotels, but this one was just old. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Churchill Hotel - DC"
Excellent experience. Requested and received a double non-smoking room. It was very clean upon checking in, and cleaned wonderfully all four days we were there. "There is always something"
Every time we have stayed at this classy hotel, there is something wrong. This last time, the elevators were out of comission for a while requiring that, after walking blocks on the hottest day in DC, we had to walk up 7 flights of stairs t our rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
