We decided to go to Washington at the last minute and got a reservation at this hotel. I had been told that people do not stay in the city, but I found that there was no problem, the hotel was two blocks from Union Station and the tour buses. We did not use the on-site eateries, but there was a food court at the station. The staff was friendly and courteous […] and the room was large enough for two adults and three children. They brought in a folding bed with no problem. I am looking forward to staying here again. Read more

No complaints against the pleasant staff or the nice decor (minus the brass fixtures). The location was a downer for us. Sure you're near the Capital, but that's about it. Restaurants and shops are quite a walk. Our meal in the hotel restaurant was awful. With no pool, $46 a night parking, no comp. breakfast or Wi-if, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Close to the capitol and a manageable walk to everything else was a great place to stay even with the kids. Cafe was pricey and on a Sunday even the Starbucks across the street was closed. Thank heavens for the dubliner which was just around the corner and had great food and atmosphere. Hotels.com last minute rate made this a great deal and worth staying, […] but not at the regular prices. Rooms were a little dated, but clean and comfortable. Everything was nice. Decent location, 3-8 blocks from anything you want to see. The only bad thing was our room - it smelled horribly like old wet towels that were just sitting around - a mildew smell. I informed the front desk maybe 8 times. Nothing was done. Very dissapointed in the lack of response. Do NOT pay the fee for valet parking. There is […] a garage one street over for a quarter of the price a day, street parking that is only 2 hour limit, but free after 6:30 (G STREET) or 10:30 pm and free on Sunday. Read more

From the moment we arrived, we were treated very well by the staff. Our room was clean, large, modern & what a view! The hotel is only a few blocks from Union Station, where you can park your car for only $22.00. The Capital is also only a few blocks away. Excellent location. We enjoyed everything about this hotel. I did have a slight mishap upon arrival. […] My foot slipped from the curb when we were taking our bags out of the car and I pulled a muscle behind my knee. Went to D.C. with no hotel booked. Found this great hotel on hotels.com phone app!! A beautiful hotel and a great room with a view of the capitol building! Close to all to see! Overall the experience was good. The rooms were clean and the hotel looked relatively upscale...location was very close to Capitol and Union station ... Couple of not so good experiences - the bed in one of the two rooms we had booked was uncomfortable; the bathroom door locked from inside in one of the rooms gave us a major headache...we finally figured […] a way to open it...but it was still a problem...hotel needs to check the doors for this issue. Washington Court was a great choice for us. We arrived from BWI-Marshall airport in Baltimore, so we wanted to be close to Union Station for the MARC train. It worked out great for us. We walked to the Capitol and to the museums, and we took the subway from Union Station to get further out. We thought we'd miss having a pool at the hotel, but we didn't. […] The lobby is spacious and comfortable, like a big living room. The restaurant was expensive for everyday dining, so we went elsewhere. There are places nearby and a lot of places in the station. The beds seemed a little too soft in the middle. We (family of three adults) were very comfortable in the upgraded room. The view was great and the bathroom, modern and spacious. The hotel's location was perfect. It was within walking distance of Union Station. (We traveled by railroad). At the end of our bus tour, we got off practically in front of the hotel! The Washington Court Hotel was perfect for our first family trip to DC! We have three children (elementary and middle school age), and the five of us were very comfortable in the double room with a roll-away for the fifth person. It was less than a 10 minute walk to Union Station, and we used the Metro to get everywhere in DC. We felt very safe even […] walking back to the hotel late at night. The hotel was very nice and the staff was great. Food at the hotel is a bit pricey if you have kids, but overall our stay was nice. The walk to Union Station wasn't too bad, although in hot weather it is a bit of a hike!

We had a wonderful time in DC. Like you said the Washington Hotel was located two blocks over from the Union Square Station. We took the DC Metro to many of the sights. The reason we went to DC was to show support for our son who bicycled from NYC with other police officers for the annual Police Unity Bike Tour.

We were there for a function in DC and spent little time at the hotel. I was impressed when we arrived in am before some people had checked out from previous night and they offered to put us in a room early. Staff is courteous, hotel is clean, well appointed and room was comfortable for this family with pre-teen kids. We needed a fridge for medication […] and they brought it up promptly. I went up to DC for the weekend so that I can show my children the museums and some of the sites. For the price, this hotel was much much more than what I expected. The people remembered our names and were always ready with a smile. Only issues I had with the hotel was that the food was pricey (yet delicious) and that our phone charger from our car […] came up missing when we got the car back from the valet. Our room was very clean, large and well decorated and well positioned for visits to Capitol Hill, Union Station, the Metro, and the Smithsonian Mall. The staff we encountered were all extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel as an excellent place to stay.

great location for walking or cabs, easy to walk with bags from Union Station. Not as close to metro as some other hotels in DC. Rates good, but no extras. Great location and easy walking distance to all the sites on the mall and capital. Restaurant needs some work though. Service was bad and it appeared kitchen could not keep up with stocking the buffet, that for the section and quality choices was way over priced. Door men were kind and welcoming and very helpful about general area.

I reserved a room for 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) and walked into a room with 2 double (small beds). I had to "negotiate" and get angry until finally the front desk accepted to give me a roll-inn bed "at no extra cost".

Excellent location as it is 5 mins walk to Union Station where the nearest Metro is. Beautiful city to explore. Size of room and bathroom is spacious which is a big plus point.
