Downtown DC is awash with culture. The Smithsonian Institution museum complex flanks the National Mall. The Washington Monument bisects the Mall, just south of the White House. Federal agency headquarters house bureaucrats of varying stripes. Moneyed and powerful lobbyists help create (and quash) laws from K Street. Chinatown and the Washington Convention Center lie east of downtown.

"Large rooms, Great restaurant"
The building was an apartment building and turned into hotel, the large size of the rooms is very pleasing, you can't find these large rooms in a metropolitan hotel. The cleanliness could be better, the best part was the downstairs Circle Bistro, great food and I recommend it to everyone. Also, the location is great but the hospital next door so sirens […] are heard 24/7. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Troubling staff conduct"
I had a really bad experience leaving. The car that picked me up came into the circle the wrong way. The hotel staff, rather than considering my situation - trying to get to the airport - gave the driver a really hard time, refused to help him get his car out of the circle, and for several minutes argued with him, with complete disregard for their hotel […] guest. "Just short of great; sirens prevent good sleep."
The location of this hotel is great in terms of getting to places around DC (it is close to a metro, easy walk to G'town and to Dupont) EXCEPT that it is directly across the circle from the hospital and there are sirens going almost constantly. I was put on the 4th floor my first night, but got absolutely no sleep between the sirens and the "beep beep […] beep" of construction vehicles on the street just outside my room -- all. night. long. The staff is very nice and accommodating, and moved me to the 7th floor for the rest of my nights, which helped with the construction noise if not the sirens. The restaurant is very good; room service prices are very reasonable. My only complaint about the room itself was a lack of outlets to plug in phone, computer, ipad charger. I had to move the room couch in order to plug in/set up the iron/ironing board. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The Day Staff Was Very Accommodating"
The room we reserved was more appropriate for three college students as opposed to the three middle-aged women in my group. We were promised a one-bedroom suite with two beds and a sofabed. We were initially given a room with one full-sized bed, a sofabed and a foldaway. The next night we were given a room with one king-sized bed and a sofabed, which […] they said was the best they could do. Not my preference, but each room was clean and had good views. The staff was very professional and courteous. That made a big difference. The hotel itself is in wonderful location for sight-seeing. The yellow-line tour bus stops in front of the hotel and the Metro is a few blocks away. Also, we were walking distance from plenty of touristy sites and monuments. "Quiet and very nice hotel."
The room was very big and very comfortable, but the bed was too small for that kind of room. (Queen size for two peoples)Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel thoughts"
The hotel was very nice but not modern. Also I didn't like the area. In the future Ill stay in a different location.Genuine Expedia guest review
"very centrally located"
The only benefit in staying at 1 Washington Circle is its central location to the metro, and to many of the capitals sights. THE hotel is otherwise very old with linens, beds and pillows that in desperate need of replacing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"washington circle hotel washington, dc"
I would not stay at this hotel again. The proximity to GWU Hospital and the ambulance traffic makes it quite noisy at all times of day and night. The walls are also very thin and we could hear our neighbors cheering during March Madness games thus disrupting our sleep. We also asked for a 5:30 am wake up call and never received it. Upon check out we […] were politely asked about our stay and I was honest about all of the concerns. However, they did apologize but did nothing else was done. "On a Budget? May be for you!"
This hotel is conveniently located just north of the Foggy Bottom Metro Stop (Beware - Washington Circle is not pedestrian friendly) in good proximity to George Washington University, and close walking distance to Georgetown and Dupont Circle. Good price and the suite rooms are quite roomy, however, the hotel is a former apartment complex and is in […] need of a makeover and updating. Rooms are clean, but the linens are marginal and carpeting is a bit funky and this created some air quality issues that could be addressed with changing some of the furnace filters (the one in my room was caked with dust). The good news, is the balcony can be opened for fresh air. There is free internet, but very sluggish loading, and there is a Trader Joe's and Whole Foods near by for those who wish to buy groceries that can be fixed with the small kitchen, oven and microwave. The staff was friendly and responsive and made the stay pleasant overall. The Hotel Restaurant is charming and seems popular, but be advised a couple of drinks will set you back about $25, so you may want to venture out for a night cap. "NYE 2012"
The bed linens and the extra blanket from the closet didn't smell freshly laundered....big thumbs down. Certainly, this hotel touts that every room has a balcony, but to have a balcony that is just above the dumpsters...well, so much for a New Years toast on the balcony at midnight. Avoid room 106.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beware of extra fees"
This hotel is in a perfect location. I walked to the White House, MLK Memorial, & the Lincoln Memorial. The hop on hop off tour bus picks up and drops off right in front of the hotel (the yellow route). The room was clean and comfortable with a kitchen. I shopped at Trader Joe's around the corner and cooked dinner in my room on the first night. The […] carpet is FILTHY... kept my shoes on except for showering and bedtime. Please beware: they will charge your credit card for $50 per night for damages and will NOT inform you. I found out after I arrived home and viewed my statement. The money will eventually be credited back to your account if there are no damages. If money is coming out of my account, I want to know about it in advance. It really bothered me because they could've informed me during check-in. I don't know if I would stay there again. It is overpriced! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"One Washington Circle Hotel in DC"
The hotel has a great location, the staff was pretty nice, and the price was good. and I like the resturant in the hotel (Circle Bistro. The hotel iteself, however was a little run down. Bedding was decent and the room has nice TV, but the carpets are deffintely shot, the elevators were very beat up, and the place generally seemed a little worn out. […] The internet wireless was totally lame. The room was also a little funky -- no place to eat adn the bath/tub area was too small. One plus was the nice balcony. "OK but..."
The hotel was fine, physically. However it is situated across the street from a major emergency room hospital, and the ear-splitting ambulences, constantly arrived through out the nite.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"bad judgement"
I made my reservation a few weeks in advance of my arrival. I arrived at 8 PM on the scheduled day and was given the hotel's Board Room with a Murphy bed in there. It looked like Donald Trupms"s office on his TV show. When I checked in I was told I was being given the Executive suite. It was more like an office with a bed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Business Trip"
OK..., the metro was across the "washington cirlce park" next to the GW Hospital. So, I felt safe walking to the metro. The first night I was in a conference room suite which was odd. The bed came from the wall and was not comfortable at all. The next night they moved me. Only one elevator worked.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Kennedy Center"
Older hotel, but great location. Easy walk to Kennedy Center. Rooms are large and include a kitchen. The rooms could use an upgrade in carpets, wall paper and curtains. I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"20 min walk to main attractions"
Position of hotel was good as far as location to main attractions was concerned. Hospital a block away and fire station 2 blocks away made for numerous sirens but once door to balcony or window closed it did cut nose down considerably. Plenty of space in bedroom and bathroom and was very clean. Kitchen was a bit pokey and only had bare essentials, had […] to ask for tea towel. The TV kept dropping the signal on some channels and the wifi was a bit hit and miss. None of these things spoilt our stay though. Finally, the staff were very helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We booked a room for 2 adults and 2 children. Our O/C said: Delux dbl dbl room with kitchen. In fact we received a a room wih 1 queen bed and 1 sofa. this was very disappointing. "Taxi scam"
The employees were nice but the when we asked for a taxi for the next morning that's not what they delivered. Instead, at 6 A.M, there was someone related to the hotel that was trying to charge me 70$ (fixed priced and not a taxi) to get to the Dulles airport. I refused and instead got a real taxi (from the street) that cost me 55$ (with 5$ of tip included). […] I'm not sure but I think I"t a manager that as found a nice little sideline on the back of the clients of the hotel. All this was done very politely but I HATE when people are trying to scam me. "Fint hotel, men støjende omgivelser"
"Gianfy & Stefy a Washington DC"
