Circle Bistro - Start and end your day at Circle Bistro where you can savor delectable American cuisine with a French flair. Ranked one of the Top 100 Best Restaurants in Washington, DC by Washington Magazine, Circle Bistro is the perfect dining venue for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Glass partitions separate the dining and lounge areas, where a large honeycomb of spaces is built around a fireplace. In summer, the space extends to the walled-in patio. The Bistro is also a great place for happy hour or evening cocktails.
The One Washington Circle Hotel offers a seasonal outdoor pool. The small fitness center has a weight machine, exercise bike, stair machine, and treadmill.
Rock Creek Park, about a half-mile from the hotel, is a 1,800-acre oasis with hiking and biking trails, a nature center/planetarium, and remnants of Civil War forts. The building was an apartment building and turned into hotel, the large size of the rooms is very pleasing, you can't find these large rooms in a metropolitan hotel. I had a really bad experience leaving. The car that picked me up came into the circle the wrong way. "Just short of great; sirens prevent good sleep."
The location of this hotel is great in terms of getting to places around DC (it is close to a metro, easy walk to G'town and to Dupont) EXCEPT that it is directly across the circle from the hospital and there are sirens going almost constantly. I was put on the 4th floor my first night, but got absolutely no sleep between the sirens and the "beep beep […] beep" of construction vehicles on the street just outside my room -- all. night. long. The staff is very nice and accommodating, and moved me to the 7th floor for the rest of my nights, which helped with the construction noise if not the sirens. The restaurant is very good; room service prices are very reasonable. My only complaint about the room itself was a lack of outlets to plug in phone, computer, ipad charger. "The Day Staff Was Very Accommodating"
The room we reserved was more appropriate for three college students as opposed to the three middle-aged women in my group. We were promised a one-bedroom suite with two beds and a sofabed. We were initially given a room with one full-sized bed, a sofabed and a foldaway. I would not stay at this hotel again. The proximity to GWU Hospital and the ambulance traffic makes it quite noisy at all times of day and night. The walls are also very thin and we could hear our neighbors cheering during March Madness games thus disrupting our sleep. We also asked for a 5:30 am wake up call and never received it. "On a Budget? May be for you!"
This hotel is conveniently located just north of the Foggy Bottom Metro Stop (Beware - Washington Circle is not pedestrian friendly) in good proximity to George Washington University, and close walking distance to Georgetown and Dupont Circle. Good price and the suite rooms are quite roomy, however, the hotel is a former apartment complex and is in […] need of a makeover and updating. Rooms are clean, but the linens are marginal and carpeting is a bit funky and this created some air quality issues that could be addressed with changing some of the furnace filters (the one in my room was caked with dust). The good news, is the balcony can be opened for fresh air. There is free internet, but very sluggish loading, and there is a Trader Joe's and Whole Foods near by for those who wish to buy groceries that can be fixed with the small kitchen, oven and microwave. The staff was friendly and responsive and made the stay pleasant overall. The Hotel Restaurant is charming and seems popular, but be advised a couple of drinks will set you back about $25, so you may want to venture out for a night cap. This hotel is in a perfect location. I walked to the White House, MLK Memorial, & the Lincoln Memorial. The hop on hop off tour bus picks up and drops off right in front of the hotel (the yellow route). The room was clean and comfortable with a kitchen. I shopped at Trader Joe's around the corner and cooked dinner in my room on the first night. The […] carpet is FILTHY... kept my shoes on except for showering and bedtime. Please beware: they will charge your credit card for $50 per night for damages and will NOT inform you. I found out after I arrived home and viewed my statement. The money will eventually be credited back to your account if there are no damages. If money is coming out of my account, I want to know about it in advance. I made my reservation a few weeks in advance of my arrival. I arrived at 8 PM on the scheduled day and was given the hotel's Board Room with a Murphy bed in there. Position of hotel was good as far as location to main attractions was concerned. Hospital a block away and fire station 2 blocks away made for numerous sirens but once door to balcony or window closed it did cut nose down considerably. We booked a room for 2 adults and 2 children. Our O/C said: Delux dbl dbl room with kitchen. In fact we received a a room wih 1 queen bed and 1 sofa. this was very disappointing. "Taxi scam"
The employees were nice but the when we asked for a taxi for the next morning that's not what they delivered. Instead, at 6 A.M, there was someone related to the hotel that was trying to charge me 70$ (fixed priced and not a taxi) to get to the Dulles airport. I refused and instead got a real taxi (from the street) that cost me 55$ (with 5$ of tip included).
