I stayed at this hotel for years from 1985 - 2000. It had a warm decor and comfortable user friendly rooms. This has been replaced with a glacial lobby and rooms which are more appropriate in Lapland than in Washington DC. There are no pictures on the wall but plenty of protruding knobs eveywhere (even in the restauramt!!!). The suite was divided by […] a panel that did not completely separate the living and slleeping areas and the living area had no couch but three chairs each of which weighed as much as a Volkswagen, There is one TV which swivels on the dividing panel so that if one person is sleeping the TV cannot be watched as the noise will enter the bedroom from the living area. The shower and bath is all in one with no privacy door to the toilet. The shower is a large granite floor and there are no handrails so that a person could very easily slip and seriously hurt themselves. The retaurant is one of the strangest, coldest places I have eaver had a meal in. You go through a kitchen with dishes exposed and (I am not kidding here!!!!) a meat slicer next to the breakfast meats which is fine in a supermarket deli but not so great to look at at 7 AM. The restaurant has no, repeat no , decorations other thn the aforementioned knobs, and the furniture (Shaker Style - lots and lots of spindles) is very uncomfortable.Thomas Wolfe said you cannot go home again and I guess he was right. "Showa powa"
Unbelievable shower and bath...great for couples. Helpful stuff included like toothpaste, bath salts, large comfy towels, etc. Staff recommendations were not helpful such as cab companies and restaurants, this was likely due to how young they were and may not have been to the nicer places, but very eager to help and professional. "Great style but terrible access to the internet."
The hotel and conditions were very fine but during my stay I had to actually work and I had issues with the hotels wireless access ( constantly dropping my connection ). "so so on the little details"
Upon check in on Friday customer service asked what newspaper I would like Saturday morning. I requested the FT. Given it is a weekend edition, I would not have received a newspaper on Sunday if I hadn't asked for one Saturday evening. I did ask for one Saturday evening but did not receive one Sunday morning. I also requested my shoes be shined and […] returned to my room by 4:30. They were not delivered by 4:30 but when I called customer service they were indeed ready and were delivered promptly. The door men were not familiar with some of the restaurants within a couple blocks radius. I found this very surprising. I would expected perfection of these little details from a brand of this caliber. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"WORTH IT"
Great stay. Room was large and reasonably quiet (some alley noise if you stay on North side). Service was A level. Nice decor, well designed. Blue Duck Tavern and bar service is wonderful. Check out Lisa and her amazing cheese selections: she is first rate. Down sides: minor: need couch, or at least love seat in front room of suites...really need this. Staff was excellent and very welcoming. We were in DC for Friday afternoon and Saturday. First time staying in this location but would recommend it. The HVAC in the room didn't have good circulation so getting optimum temperature was a challenge.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Lives up to Park Hyatt's high standards"
Always a fan of the Park Hyatt, Washington D.C's iteration lives up to expectations and more. Everyone on staff is friendly and knowledgeable, offering assistance even when not asked. Wonderful little tea room. While the gym seemed fine, adequately equipped with bikes, treadmills and the like with comp towels and water, the whirpool was not functioning. […] Would stay here again. "Great hotel for a family"
We just returned from a wonderful stay at this hotel. The first 'wow' was the room upgrade and letting us check in early. The room was huge, modern and spotless and we loved the spa type bathroom. "Just perfect"
A great stay in the Georgetown/Foggy Bottom area of DC. Simply perfect - and the weekend room rate (2 nights, get 1 free) means the room was dirt cheap. They throw in a breakfast for 2 from the in-house, 5 star restaurant - and your real cost is well under that. Free bikes to use, free bottled water....the staff were all 100% gracious.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel was beautiful...close to everything, we walked everywhere...staff very helpful we did not like the view from our first room and it was changed within minutes...only complaint was the cost of parking, otherwise everything was wonderful...would definetly stay there again for the deal I got on the room from Expedia!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Family friendly without all the kids"
Had a fantastic stay, the staff were more then accommodating with all of our needs. The room was exquisite, love the modern decorating and not a lot nick knacks, very important since we were traveling with a rambunctious toddler. Staff was very friendly to our little one, didn't seem annoyed with his little presence, some places can be that way. The […] last day we needed a car seat and they were very accommodating in getting one for us with in the hour. This is a great hotel, very close to GW and within easy walking distance to the metro. The room was very comfortable, although a little on the plain side (very new style). The bathroom was very nice. "Park Hyatt, washington DC"
We spent a weekend in DC to see the cherry Blossoms and tour the city. The Park Hyatt is a very luxurious 5 star hotel with excellent accomodations and superb service. The room was very nice and comfortable with a spacious bath area and all modern facilities. We had a complimentary breakfast in the hotel that was quite good but did not eat in the Hotel […] otherwise. I thought the lobby was rather dull and small for a 5 star hotel but my wife thought it was modern.. "Treat Yourself to Luxury"
The Park Hyatt was a wonderful place to stay. Very modern, clean, and comfortable room with slippers and a robe, and a large soaking tub. "Great Services But Nothing Else"
Staff are very nice and friendly. One outstanding staff is the gentleman that checked us in, he has gone extra miles to assist us. Other pros are the bathroom amenities. However, the rooms are very small, two twin beds are size single instead of double or queen sizes, I am small built but I nearly fell off the bed a couple of times. Throughout the stay […] we can hear the noisy bang bang from the air conditioning, my 73 year old mother couldn't sleep because of this. There are no coffee making facility in the room, for the amount of money that we paid for the room, breakfast wasn't included and no free wi-fi. Overall it is a good hotel overpriced and not tailored for families and leisure travel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice location but not family friendly"
It's close enough to the major attractions such as the White House, Capitol Hill, and the Smithsonian museum. You can pretty much walk to those places I mentioned above and we felt pretty safe even at night. However, I would not recommend the hotel if you are traveling with young children. I specifically reserved two queen beds, but during the checkin, […] they told me that the only room they had available would be either two single beds? and a king bed with a rollaway bed. We opted for the king and the rollaway bed which made the room a lot smaller due to the extra bed. The hotel was rated as four stars but we've stayed at three star hotels that were nicer than this hotel. Overall, the room was clean, the location was great, but this hotel was meant to be for business travelers, not family on vacation. One more thing I would recommend. Don't go to New York and DC during the summer time. The heat was suffocating and the humidity made the warm weather almost unbearable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Luxurious hotel, best staff ever"
Amazing hotel. Everything was perfect, except for the lack of a couch in a 618sq ft room. The room was great, especially the 'spa' like bathroom, but the living area only had 3 low back swivel chairs, no couch. We found that very odd. Don't get me wrong, we'd absolutely stay here again. It just seemed strange that for all the amazing features this hotel […] offers... they drop the ball on the simplicity of providing a couch. 100% absolutely recommend this hotel. The hotel is gorgeous and personable. The room was immaculate. I enjoyed the tub and the dual showers. The size of the room was impressive. Participating in the Hyatt Gold Passport has its rewards.
