Downtown DC is awash with culture. The Smithsonian Institution museum complex flanks the National Mall. The Washington Monument bisects the Mall, just south of the White House. Federal agency headquarters house bureaucrats of varying stripes. Moneyed and powerful lobbyists help create (and quash) laws from K Street. Chinatown and the Washington Convention Center lie east of downtown.
see all hotels in WashingtonIt was noisy, the wifi was expensive--not free, and housekeeping came to my door at 8am every morning. I did not sleep well, because there was some sort of drilling happening in the floor below me. The ice machine was broken and was not fixed nor noticed for the 3 days I was there. A disappointment for the price. Calling the front desk was like pulling […] teeth to get results--I kept getting forwarded off. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location, Hotel Could Use Upgrading"
Hotel is n a great location and at one time was probably a beautiful hotel. The lobby is fine. However, the rooms and the hallways are not up to the standard that you would expect fro a Hilton nor from one you would think would be a premier hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice rooms, noisy stay"
We enjoyed the location of the hotel. There was some banging and drilling that we heard throughout the day and it sounded like they were doing some renovations. Unfortunately we were all awakened at 3:30 AM when someone pulled the fire alarm. There was no fire but the alarms kept going off for the next hour and we had to go down 8 flights of stairs […] to learn it was a false alarm and could return to our rooms. The breakfast was very nice and the staff at the hotel seemed very pleasant. They were very helpful calling cabs and handling the luggage. I don't believe that we would stay there again however because of the noise and the issue with the fire alarms. It really ruined our Anniversary getaway since we were so tired on the second day of our trip. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

""High Internet Fee - Not worth the money""
We were traveling as a couple for business. The room had cracks in the ceiling, and the office chair was dirty. The staff was accommodating, but the worst part was that internet was $15 per day, per device. This was really annoying considering the fact that we both needed to use our computers over our three day stay, and while I understand that $15 […] may not seem like a lot, it adds up to $90 for three days of internet! The internet wasn't even that fast, what a rip off! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Disappointting for a Hiltonl in Washington D.C."
The first thing that we encountered was that the toilet seat was loose and each time you sat on it, you slide to the side and felt very insecure. We called the front desk and was told someone will be up to fix it. We stayed 3 nights and no one came. The shower curtain had mildew on it and I wrote to the housekeeping to replace or clean it. One bathroom […] light fixture was out and the make up mirror was broken. Wrote this down too for the housekeeping. The note was taken, so they knew of our concerns. It's funny how almost every hotel has a card for travelers to right down comments of their stay, but the very one where you have concerns, there was no card. This was very disappointing for a Hilton hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Room was not available until very late"
We had paid in advance, but a room was not "turned over" for us until after 9:30 pm. --An hour and a half wait! We were offered free internet and free breakfast for "our inconvenience." --But we were told when we made our reservation that those were included anyway. The staff in the dining room then told us the free breakfast didn't count for our children!! […] We were also not allowed late checkout despite the fact that we were told the night before that "lots of people must have checked out late!!!- Overall not a good experience- it was difficult with young children.to wait until after 9:30 to get our room. "Room not "turned" til after 9:30pm-- for any room"
Check in found that our room was not ready--- tho we had paid in advance, our room would not be done by housekeeping until after 9:30pm---leaving travel weary people waiting in the lobby!! The next day we asked for a late check-out and were told they didn't have one. We were given free breakfast and free internet for our inconvenience---- both are […] given free to all customers! At breakfast the waitress told us oh no, the free breakfast did not cover the children --- we would need to pay for them. No iron in the room tho there was an ironing board. "Don't use the Cap Hilton's parking - EVER!"
2 major beefs with the Cap Hilton: 1) when we checked in, I requested champagne glasses. 2 hours later, I called and asked again. Did we get them? No. 2) we paid the outrageous $42 per night for parking. When it was time to leave, we were directed to a window for the valet. How long were we told we'd wait? 45 minutes! That's almost $1 per minute to […] be inconvenienced. A 45 minute wait to get the car is even more outrageous than the fee to park it overnight. And when we went in to complain, the front desk had an "it's a private company" attitude that was very disappointing. The hotel itself was nice, the room was spacious (the bathroom was itty bitty), and the staff was mostly accomodating, but having to wait an eternity for the car we paid a premium to park left a terrible taste in our mouths, and we will not be returning to stay again. Further, I would not recommend the hotel if for no other reason than the manner the car issue was handled. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

dommage que les services soient assez chers car l'hôtel est vraiment parfait, le petit déj est excellent, le personnel très attentif. Un frigo bar dans la chambre serait un plus!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
