"Comfortable, convenient for downtown, and clean"
Stayed for two nights, rooms are clean and much bigger than average. Very convenient for business in the downtown area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I loved the Rouge. Their service was great and they made sure that I was taken care of. The staff was amazing and understood that I needed an extra hand and on items on my business trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location and friendly staff"
This was my first time staying at any of the Kimptons Hotels. I was very sceptical because of the price I paid for it was like "too good to be truth", but to my surprise was a very nice one. When I arrived around 11am the employee at the front desk was super friendly. I got my room but I didn't like the view. I called the front desk to see if the could […] give me another room and the employee with no problem gave me a room with a better view and to my surprise, no extra charge. The location is super, at walking distiance to almost everywhere. I actually love the hotel and look foward to stay at The Rouge again!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice overnight stay"
Hotel was everything I look for in a hotel. Staff was nice, check-in was easy, room was nice, clean, and even spacious. A winner!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Artistic Hotel on US Embassy Row"
Very interesting hotel--across from the Australian Embassy in Washington, D.C. On the outside are ten artistic, tasteful, and semi-nude statutes. The modern and post-modern artistic design inside is equally interesting. All in a hotel with very good amenities.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Seeing Rouge"
Our son works in DC and we stayed in the Rouge over the Thanksgiving holiday--mostly for the location (near Dupont Circle). But we would up really liking the hotel much more than we thought we would. The rooms were spacious and the work area looked like a place where I could get a lot done, if I was so inclined (which I wasn't!). Very comfortable Aeron-type […] desk chair, tons of space, outlets within reach, and very good lighting. My wife also got a kick out of the leopard-spotted terry robes "on sale" for $90-- but stiff as boards from previous washings). The hotel bar also proved to be a nice place for a late glass of wine. Friendly, helpful staff was a plus too. We'd definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Unique hotel, comfortable stay"
I like the color sceme of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The cordless phone in my room needed to be sanitized. It looked dirty. Overall, I like the environment of the hotel and I will book a room there on my next trip back to D.C.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

very friendly staff . rooms are really big , but make sure you like the color RED because that is all you will see in that hotel :)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall good experience"
The hotel lobby is small- no biggy. The elevators come quick- thats a plus. The soap in the bathroom is minimal- had to go and purchase soap. They provide a pump and it barely pumps out soap. Overall the experience was cool, the rooms are intriguing and the staff is friendly. You will enjoy your stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Satisfactory for business near Dupont Circle and Downtown. Some places are a bit closer to the action, but this is near enough that it is no bother in terms of location. The staff is always very kind and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

A bit overrated. Good hotel, Just not worth the price. B'fast was ok but not worth 15 bucks.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel, bad parking, decent location."
Good hotel, and almost everything about it was good. Could walk to everything (although a bit far to the Mall). The only parking available was valet parking at about $46 a night. Crazy expensive... was probably cheaper to park at an external garage down the street, but didn't think of it until after check-in.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Relative bargain, close to everything. *tips 4 U"
Everything is red! Very interesting design aesthetic. Cheetah print bath robes at no extra charge. Staff was great, friendly and attentive, *free bike rentals through Capital bike share which is the BEST way to see the sites if you're athletically inclined. White house is viewable from the hotel (about two blocks away). Parking is valet only and it's […] $40 a night! Parking on P street a block away is half as much and was always available. Get a red rental car and parking the first night is free. Has a Vegas honeymoon suite kind of feel, but all in all we enjoyed our stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"La Rouge"
Pros - This hotel was in a great location. The decor was fun and definitely unique. The room was very large with a nice work area. Free coffee and tea in the lobby each morning. Staff was great. Happy Hour was a nice perk. Cons - No coffee maker in the room - bed was a bit hard for my liking - bathroom was small. Overall I had a very good experience […] and I would definitely book with this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very convenient location"
The stay was comfortable the day and evening staff were great...the early morning desk staff not so much...I came in at 6am on two mornings and the two members of staff looked up to see who it was then proceeded to continue to do their work without even acknowledging me or saying good morning.. overall the stay was comfortable and the hotel very conveniently […] located. "Pretty Happy"
Reading the other reviews on hotels.com definitely helped us maximize our stay at Hotel Rouge. E.g. we steered clear of the expensive bar and breakfast buffet and I was prepared for the $100 credit card hold (I think the concierge actually might've said it was $100 *per night* but I haven't checked my statement yet). One thing I would say that I was […] displeased about had to do with parking: once again, I was expecting the outrageous valet rates because of having read reviews beforehand. A couple of days before our stay, I called and asked about alternative parking options. I was told that there is street parking around the hotel but it's hard to come by and there are 2-hour limits on all street spots. It's probably true that finding a spot could've been dicey; however, the information about the 2-hour limits was very misleading. In the neighborhood surrounding the Hotel Rouge, the 2-hour limit on street parking only applies M-F, 8:30-4:30. We were staying on a weekend so that information was completely inapplicable to us. As it happens, we still won the parking war by driving to a Metro station in Maryland, parking there, and taking the Metro to Dupont Circle (it cost us $4.75 to park for the whole weekend) but I definitely felt a little lied to about the street parking situation. If you're going on a weekend: be prepared to search for street parking but know that it DOES exist. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent Hotel Stay! Convenience in downtown DC!"
The hotel is very nice! The decor is excellent and it is convenient to everything! Front Desk Staff was friendly and very accommodating. It's close to many fine restaurants and the parking was cheaper than most of the other hotels in DC. The only thing we did not like is there is no free wi-fi. The cost is $10 per day. I think it should be included […] in the total cost of your stay. We also didn't like the fact that they will hold a $100 deposit on your credit card for 'incidentals'. It takes about 2 days for this to come off your credit card. $50 is more than enough for incidentals, $100 is way too high! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fun Place to stay - Hotel Rouge"
Nice hotel, spacious rooms, helpful staff. The decor is "bordello chic", so if you don't like red you should stay elsewhere. Restaurant/bar has a good but limited menu.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Keep away from the bar!"
loved the hotel.Lobby, rooms all very modern, boutique style, service fabulous. The bar looked very inviting/bar tender very chatty and helpful but after 4 glasses of wine I checked the bill and it was almost $60! $13 per (average sized ) glass.Almost passed outGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"loved the decor"
This room looked clean and gorgeous decor. But...got hot and could not turn on any air. Thought $39 is a little hefty for valet, and charged 15 dollars for a glass of wine picked up at the bar. (no room service) We thought it was free because they publicized wine tasting on their website.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient, nice and reasonable"
The hotel staff was great, there were places to eat nearby and there was a bar/restaurant in the hotel if you didn't want to leave. My husband and I stayed on Christmas night and got a good rate and definitely felt we got good value for the price. Overall a nice place to stay and recommend to others.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I'll be back"
A greatly satisfying 3-night stay. Hip interior, pleasant (and efficient) staff, and comfortable, updated rooms which felt larger than they probably are. The bar/restaurant didn't seem to be very busy, so I'm not sure what the scene is there. But the complimentary wine tasting (and morning coffee) are definite perks. Its location is for the most part […] terrific--an easy walk to DuPont Circle, or to shops, supermarkets, etc. on P street. Biggest drawback? 16th Street. It can be very loud at rush hour. So if you plan to sleep in, request a room off the street. Which I will certainly do, next time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Cool vibe"
This hotel has a cool vibe about it. The color red is prevalent, the music is very modern, space age-ish. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The beds are not for me though. I had a hard time sleeping through the night because my bed was so hard. On the other hand, my son and husband did not mind the beds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Rouge - Columbus Day Weekend - Review"
Hotel Rouge, along with all other Kimpton Hotels, is a pet friendly establishment, which was the reason we chose the hotel for the weekend. The decor of the hotel and the rooms was great, and the special happy hour Monday-Friday was pretty awesome considering that you could just go down to the lobby for a couple minutes and have a wine or beer on the […] house. I loved this hotel. The staff remembered my name and I felt like a queen during a busy conference week. I was sick the last day and Tina took care of me. I will not stay anywhere else when I travel for business or pleasure!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quirky and fun hotel"
Hotel Rouge lives up to its name. There are splashes of bright red everywhere. The staff were nice and funny and overall, this is a good hotel and a refreshing change from the blandness of the Marriotts, Hiltons etc. The room was large and comfy. Despite turning on the room corridor light, I nevertheless crashed into the wooden bed frame (because I […] couldn't see it) and hurt my knee, so watch out. The breakfast area is quite small and it may take some time to find a seat, so be warned. The location of the hotel - close to Dupont circle - is a major plus. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
